    Very honest and straight forward pros/cons. I wish someone from Humanities (English Dept) would do a video like this.

    Hi! I study at UC Berkrley now and agree with all pros and cons. Specially the area being so unsafe. For me public transportation is very bad, the connection with San Francisco takes very long and the frequency of Bart is awful.

    My Gosh I thought that those things only happened in São Paulo, Brazil. Actually, today I feel super safe here in São Paulo and public universities here are good and we don't have to pay nothing. The uni offer even 3 free meals, free hosing and money to buy books if you cannot afford them. There are some US Students here that como from top universities like UPenn to attend Master's and PhD programs here.

    Class of 80 grad, so it's been awhile. I enjoyed Berkeley a lot and would do it all over again. I generally agree with all that you've stated. I'm a guy and never felt unsafe on campus day or night, however, Telegraph Ave. and the surrounding area off campus can be a bit risky, there were some crazy non-student people around that area. My only down-side is that the school seems very post-grad oriented where the T.A. grad students did a lot of the instruction for the undergrads. I sometimes felt like I was just a student for them to practice on.

      Awesome to hear from an older alumni! Totally agree with what you said. I really wish there was more connection between the students and the actual professors but I guess that’s just the result of a research focused school and such large class sizes.

    As for competition here, I only saw it during my senior seminar.

    • @aidantan8312
      @aidantan8312 4 года назад +7

      Its not like Berkeley is this dangerous place. You can study anywhere on campus, from the coffee shops, libraries, and outdoor tables/lawns. Just have common sense and you'll be more than safe.

      ClashOfClans academically Berkeley is better. UCLA only has its extremely low acceptance rate backing it up. Otherwise I think that Berkeley is more prestigious and valuable. Although I’m kinda biased because I got somehow got into Berkeley but not UCLA, i did my research. On the other hand, USC is a primarily a liberal arts school, so your opportunities are limited. Stanford is just god tier.

      Saicharan Mandadi usc has to be better than most public schools since its private though right?

    • @VaidehiB4802
      @VaidehiB4802 4 года назад +1

      @@TechVHD That's not necessarily true. If you check the world university ranking published by Times Higher Education (this one is considered as the most reliable ranking by many people), UC Berkeley is ranked 13th, UCLA is ranked 17th and USC is ranked 62nd. Clearly, these public universities are better than USC by an objective standard. However, these rankings don't take into consideration other factors that are relevant to students like affordability and student life, so USC may be better in that respect.
