I had a midnight blue 1979 with a 400 under the hood. It had a moon roof and it was a special Cartier edition. I had a lot of great memories in that yacht with the Arctic blast A/C and quiet, comfy interior. I really miss it.
Damn true full sized car's bring back memories of being a kid. If someone had money they had a large V8 American car in their driveway. If not they drove an import.
As a child I would sit on my porch and stare at my neighbor's car like this. It was white with a white top and red interior. I absolutely love love loved it! I would say that I'm gonna have a car like that........but then cars changed......
Spring loaded hinges on the hood. I remember those. Now we have to have the strength of Hercules to lift the hood up and get the support rod under it and in the little opening for it before the hood falls.
Your cars are exceptional. Glad you left the chalk and marker inscriptions in the engine compartment. Continental require a lot of expertise, there is a lot of variety and different issues when you get into the best examples. People criticize the wrong criteria. The 400 is actually quicker than the 460 but gets worse mileage... Ford does lots of playing around. The Mark IV is about 500 lbs heavier than the larger Mark V, probably the laminated steel, but they are so secretive about that. It should not have even been available at the time of the Mark IV. The exhausts of course could include 2 mufflers and 2 resonators, so yes, some were whisper quiet with resonator canisters on the air intake even. The gold foil windshields were very special as well. I do suggest you study up on all option packages, including the rare Silohouette packages*. There is so much confusion about these cars starting with the original Mark series in the 50's. But there are real diamonds out there, and you seem to be finding them 👍 * Not to mention the crazy convertibles or chop tops factory mods 😅
@@christianbugatticg I know you are. Lol. One of these days I may find exactly what I want here. A 75-76 Olds 98 Regency loaded coupe mint. Or a 79 Cadillac Coupe De Ville loaded. My Parents bought Olds and Cadillacs and they gave me their 79 White Cadillac Coupe De Ville absolutely loaded and only 55,000 miles. My first car in 1983. I loved it. I want another one in mint. @@christianbugatticg I saw that maroon colored Cadillac Coupe Deville and I think it had a black top as it was sitting in there with a 73 Olds 98 if I recall correctly. Is it that one or do you have another one?
Price compared to say 40000plus of a new car , a 20000 saving over a new car , at say 14mpg into 20000 equals a lot of miles , in a stronger safer car !!
@@christianbugatticg I'm going off one my family had that I rode in a lot that was purchased brand new. It was a 1978 Mark V, white paint, burgundy velour interior and moonroof with a 400 engine. You couldn't hear it run and you could barely hear the engine even while accelerating; which is what a proper 70s and 80s Lincoln and Cadillac should sound like.
I have one exactly like this one, (44000 miles) floats like a boat on the road, bought it in April 23, everything in working order!! Nice!
Very nice!

I had a Mark IV and a Versailles... Great era of cars for FOMOCO

Deep down you still want one

Always loved those cars. I like seeing them original like that. Great video.
Thanks!
Bill it doesn't get any better than a big white. Luxury car with red leather interior, Great cars Great videos.
Thanks!
Beautiful car. White and red combo is perfect on it.
Thanks!
Nice Old school ride! You guy's keep nice clean cars on the lot. Been there many times looking. Y'all have sold some cars to my daughter.
Oh nice!!
That is one nice Mark V. Couldn't even hear the engine while you were cruising.
Super quiet and comfortable!
Beautiful car,always love these!.🤗

Hey thanks!!
Every 0-60 and 1/4 mile time I have read (and it's many) state the 460 is much quicker. What's your source for stating the contrary?
Great looking car. I do have a question. What's that big blue ring on Bill's right hand?
Thanks! Not really sure, bought it in St Thomas. It's not very expensive
Nice Zip Code car/ so big it’s got it’s own zip! Lol
Lol
400 didn’t have a 4 Barrel only the 460 had a four barrel carburetors
Correct.
Clean ass 79 lincoln mk5 real luxury back in the day
Thanks!
@@christianbugatticg u welcome keep getting those old skool luxury and sports cars 🏎
What are the correct type of tires for this car?
I use an all season radial, 15 inch
Would you be able to get parts still for this car?
Yes, some easier than others.
I love that Lincoln. What's the price on this Lincoln.
It's actually up for auction right now on a site called, Bring a Trailer. Bid is 15k. Highest bidder wins!
Do you still have this car? I am very interested in buying it! Please let me know! Thank you!
Yes, it is waiting it's turn to go live on Bringatrailer.com. As soon as it goes live I will share the link! Thanks!
oh, I am sorry, this one has been sold already. I shared the link in the comments already.
I wish my 460 started like that, stalls like 3 times
May need plugs or a carb cleaning!
@@christianbugatticg plugs are clean and brand new carb. I found a vacuum leak but we are the original owners and it’s done it since it’s been new.

but badly needs a muffler - that is a noisy mark v , this is supposed to be a hush quiet car I know ‘cause i used to own one
Gotcha.

Just how they sound.
