I owned car in the same color with a half navy vinyl and navy interior..in my neighborhood it was all Lincolns and Cadillacs I was 17 the gas crisis was on and they lowered the national speed limit to 55.. all the car manufacturers were going to 85 mph speedometers .. people to this day will still ask me about that car.. definitely one of the great ones

Wow. What a car and love all the metallic sparkles. That would make it fun to polish and look deeply into. The longness and hugeness of late 70’s Lincolns mirror the great expanses of America to cruise, so many rural roads and would float over them all. As a project car, a similar 100,000 mile excellent condition Continental with that delicious waterfall huge grill, redo the drivetrain, convert to sleeper sled EV zero-60 in 5 and a daily non-salty road driver with recharge cost at fraction of gas cost. Would not be cheap to accomplish, but could be a cheap daily driver once there. And don’t forget slaying people with a quiet whoosh!! to 60 in 5. “Out of my way!!” in my ginormous dinosaur. The looks on their faces. Endless fun.

A 1977 Lincoln ( any model ) has been my ultimate dream car since I was 5 years old and remember seeing one brand new. Even in the 80s when all my friends had posters in their rooms and dreamed of expensive foreign sports cars, I still wanted this. I'm at a point in life where its important to start making dreams reality due to health issues. Thanks for showing this !! I am subscribed and will watch everything on here.

Many 1977-79 Lincolns were saved as "the last of the luxury cars," as people knew downsizing was inevitable. They are available today in large numbers, even with low mileage--so common that a patient buyer even has his choice of colors.

Aeronutronic was Ford's name for their aerospace division, which also had their audio systems lumped into. This was after Philco - which Ford owned since 1961 - was split up and sold off in 1975.
The earliest variants of these radios do not have a name at the radio display's top. After that, you'd see Aeronutronic Ford like the one in this car. Aeronutronic got removed at one point and those have the Ford logo only there.
Some of these radios were manufactured by Motorola, while some were not. As far as I know, the circuitry is the same either way as I have not seen different service manuals, etc. for one vs the other. When I got a NOS one for my '77 Cartier, it actually had a kinda obnoxious looking MOTOROLA sticker over the Ford portion of the dial. I had the Motorola thing removed, but a bit of residue was left behind. I am guessing mine was sold at the dealer or something for it to have once had that piece added.

Absolutely beautiful car in my opinion 77 was the last nice one because it had the fender skirts in the begin j'en and that special speedometer. I could be wrong I believe back then Ford offered one or two extra cost colors. And I think that blue was one and again I'm going back to when I was a kid there was also a gold color. Very heavy metallic

The one thing that big American cars have always done better than any car from anywhere else is the air conditioning. These cars had ice cold A/C. It could be 95 outside but if you were sitting in the front seat you could see your breath because it could just get that cold.

That car needs h1h4 Helen glass conversion headlights, 1156 1157 Switchback bulbs and turn indicators it needs a bumper tuck in the front bumper it needs mirror window tint, it needs the catalytic converters hollowed out, it needs a new set of sensor Matic shock absorbers, it needs the LED strip installed behind the reflector panel in between the tail lights that connects to the parking lights, it needs the rear bumper tucked also same as the front 4 inward delete the plastic flexible filler permanently, it may need the striker pin nylon roller bushings, it needs interior LED bulbs so that the plastic lenses don't become brittle from the heat of the Vintage candescent bulbs and the power drain from them, it needs a new set of fresh speakers, it needs the 1969 fold back hood ornament that has the long spikes on either side just like the symbols in the rear quarter Opera windows, and that should make it a really nice car. And don't forget to wipe that leather down in that with Vaseline park it out in the hot sun till it soaks in so the leather won't crack.
