Hey man, you probably wont see this but I'm struggling hardcore with anxiety / life but its nice to hop onto RUclips every single week to see a brand new video by you. Thanks for everything you do and all the hard work it literally helps keep me sane sometimes. Cheers from Toronto!
Driving while flying the drone takes an extreme amount of skill not many people will understand that! haha not to mention all the times you have to stop and pick up your camera after driving. Great content.
In the UK, with a central heating setup (gas boiler), the air intake is an inner pipe that is surrounded by a larger outer exhaust pipe. Basically air is drawn in and pre-heated by the exhaust gas - simple heat exchanger. You could try constructing or "welding" a simple exhaust heat exchanger.
It was 85' today at 5pm in C. FL 02-12-21..i could not handle your weather, but I absolutely love the beautiful snow capped trees and the views you share. I sincerely respect and admire how you set goals and continually explore the possibilities ! Thank you so much for sharing your journey.
Foresty, never, never ever are your videos lousy......!! You're always doing interesting things. That coffee filter/mug hook area is awesome. Your recipe was awesome, figuring out your heating system, genius. It's always wonderful to see what you're doing. However small you think it may be.....we love you and appreciate you....now that's coming from a 63 year old Grandma.....I'm also a medical marijuana patient....your voice and videos relax me. Watching you try to hike in waist deep snow helps me to try to walk a little more even when my pain is relentless. Thanks Foresty...❤😊
You should have a “spot” emergency beacon, from what I can tell you don’t carry anything to protect yourself... mountain lions can be very dangerous especially in winter when food is scarce, should carry a good hunting knife with at least a 7 to 8 inch blade as well as bear spray... some animals are very opportunistic ✌🏻🇨🇦 safe travels
Recirculating air will help hear the van up initially but I wouldn't keep it on recirc all the time, once up to temperature I'd add 20% fresh air to keep the air quality, that's what we do in the hvac control industry
And to think that my coffee filters just sit in a drawer. My cell service is weak near a major city . Foresty is getting calls up on a mountain. Great job.
IKR?! Now I am feeling guilty and wondering how much FF would sell those coffee filter holders for on Etsy. You know, little side hustle for when there's *nothing to do.*
@ 10:08 NEVER say "this has been a lousy video, I haven't really accomplished anything". Your videos are always great, and just your carpentry clips alone is cool to watch, the spectacular footage of the scenery you get to see and share with us is awesome. Never beat yourself up over your content, you do a great job.
Don't put the intake inside, cold air has more oxigen then hot air. It should burn better with cold air. Also never connect a pipe that goes to the combustion chamber, to the inside of your van. You never know what could happen wile you sleep. If the heater fan stops working, fumes come out of the intake
The diesel heaters have a in and exhaust out for the burn chamber. They are through his floor to outside. They also have a intake air in and heated air out. Air in at one end of plastic case. Heat out the other. The two parts are not connected in any way. So having it recirculate in and out of main is better them sucking cooler air from under bed
Yup I think there should anyways be a fresh air intake as companion for roof fan which is exhaust. Fresh air intake through the heater when it is off must be quite little. Anyways interesting find that the output is same no matter if it taking cold air out or recirculating inside air. Heater must use more fuel and power to make cold air warm.
2:22 the Majesty shared with all viewing this perspective...later contrasted with the summit for another day did not make for a wasted effort. FF, I know several folks not able to get out to see the great outdoors. What you have done here inspires and delights. Hi from the Crockpot community in Bulgaria, quite warm here for you -8 deg C, the best climbers turn back, the great Alan Hinkes always advised on never pushing summits, thats why he is still alive.
You use google map so much, contact them and let them know you hike and take pictures. They could use some updated data. A google camera car has yet to be seen at the top of the mountains. I'm sure Google would enjoy the scenes. That happy cooker crockpot makes the van a home. Those meals look amazing! Enjoy your dinner.
Watching you drive those snowy roads and the view at the top of your hike was worth way more than the price of admission. Thanks for continuing to share your experiences.
I have noticed that Forest's mind runs like mine. Something that needs to be taken care of will be set in the back of my mind until I can take care of it. I don't forget about them, I just keep them logged in until I can take care of it. Like the brackets for his battery, and like the diesel hose under the brackets for his heater. Yeah - I'd love to spend a winter in Alberta to see if I could cope with -40. The funny thing is the UK is actually at a higher latitude than where the majority of the Canadian population lives at. If we didn't have the gulf stream the UK would be colder than most of Canada is.

Does anyone remember when the crockpot was only use to be a one time use and returned? And look at it now: it has its very own shrine. Classic Foresty
I came across that video. At the time it looked like old "crocky" was a goner.
"This is going to be a lousy video" he says, while panning the camera over an incredibly stunning shot of a snow and tree covered valley.
My thoughts exactly.

I’m embarrassed to say just how often that’s happened 😂😂😂

I was singing it doing laundry 😄
Me too. All the time 😂🤣
Was singing this today while hiking.
Anyone else wish the videos were longer? At the end of each video I’m left wanting to watch more. The videos are so enjoyable and calming.
Yeah, Foresty videos are fine, however many minutes is just right every time.
I want a full hour video of just his drone videos
No. They’re the perfect length.
I tnink it's time for "Foresty, the movie": 90 minutes of hiking 🚶♂️and crockpot 🍽 adventures in a stealth van. 🚐
Thats the secret of good storyteler always leave them wanting more ! Lol
You need to write a cookbook, 'Foresty Forest and his Magical Crock Pot' 🧞♂️
Love it.
It’s nice to know that at any given time, Foresty Forest is somewhere in the great white north doing a slow cook in the back of his van.
Right? I love that he is among us, roaming the trails, upgrading the current van build and tending the crockpot shrine.
Foresty Forest, he is a certified hit.
And he knows when to pack it in, turn around and go back to the van. We don't want him to take foolish, dare devil chances with his life.

Yes, I noticed that this time. A true professional.
Totally clocked that too...🙌🏻
Noticed that with tire tracks as well in some other vids

Totally agree...look at his early videos...he has grown leaps and bounds
That theme song too!!!! I treasure his footage. Was introduced via Facebook solo female campers group 😇

His drone footage and editing of it is impressive (and it keeps improving, I think)
I was wondering how he filmed himself in his van and while riding his bike and hiking. I've only seen people use drones while stationary.
Love the drone shots - Canada is such a beautiful country.
I agree, is videos are the greatest.
They are! But, who's flying the drone while he's driving down the road?
