Wow! I appreciate your honesty. If I'm going to be honest one of the things I like about both of you is you are extremely generous with your reviews. Even places that just aren't that great you will still give them a very warm and friendly review.
So when you go to a place and you say you won't go back? That means a lot.
At any rate, thanks for all you do. Sorry that one didn't work out.

Thank you! We definitely aren’t on here to ruin restaurants and people’s business so we try not to bad mouth most of them. This one had lots of potential but when you are on vacation, spending over 3 hours on food just isn’t worth it. The history on the place is really neat! We appreciate all the support!

I absolutely love The Hamilton. It is also a great place to go see live music. Their Smoked Trout Dip is some of the best fish dip I have had outside of Florida. You definitely picked a good place to eat!

Nice place and so big! I worked at the Commerce Department at NW 14th St. and Constitution MANY years ago. They were building the metro when I lived there. I always took the bus. When we went back to visit in 1988 we rode the metro. Looking forward to your DC adventures!

Our son lives in Alexandria and works in DC. So when we’ve visited for Thanksgiving we’ve gone to Hamilton for their thanksgiving meal. It’s always been good. The brussels sprouts are excellent. Looks too cold! Too early for the cherry trees?

Oh wow! What a great place to live. We loved Alexandria! Yeah it was way cold!! And we should have tried the Brussels. It was a little early for the cherry trees but we saw some of them!

In this video I remember years ago when I was working at a restaurant near 9th ave midtown Manhattan called WALKERS and it had 4 dining rooms and I was the SOUS CHEF/CHEF De CUISINE and what I did was hit every category on the specials menu plus the current menu, and the people absolutely loved it because you have your regulars plus walk-ins and the place was jammed, very busy with 20 waiter's and waitresses plus 2 bartenders and only 2 in the kitchen plus the dishwasher but this place looks massive, but when I worked in the hotels we had one main dining room plus 4 private dining rooms and the main kitchen was huge and I remember when I looked at the WALDORF ASTORIA,and TAVERN ON THE GREEN, huge kitchen and massive dining room and at the time TAVERN ON THE GREEN was the highest grossing establishment in the United States hugh numbers

Looks like a nightmare! The noise alone is so off putting I would never eat there. The food looks mediocre at best. Not a great place to

Old Ebbitt Grill used to be good. Haven’t been in DC for 36 years but it looks the same.

We heard the same thing that it used to be much better. Sure over time, it has gone down a little bit. We loved DC!

You don’t go there for the food. Water comes out of the tap, directly from the Potomac via the WSSC!

It was some good water! Yeah it seems more of a social place. Glad we at least went!

Just stumbled across this review. The Hamilton demonstrates what’s wrong with Washington DC vs. most of the country. K street is best-known for the large numbers of corporate offices where the lobbyists are based. Places like The Hamilton, survive with average food, overpriced and poor service, because most patrons there on big, fat expense accounts.
They are in no hurry because their work day starts whenever and surely some of those tables is where decision-makers, like congressional staffers or influential staffers in the Department of Whatever are getting an earful on things that should be written in laws or regulations. The common, hard-working federal employees never are seen there.

Was a navy cook…..all meals on time..we had 3 cooks for a crew of 500…..2 shifts of cooks……it’s amazing what people stand for when going out…a hamburger is a hamburger…..I guess we try to impress people going out, what a waste of time………

Owned by the Clyde’s Group…formerly the Garfunkel’s Department Store…like the Old Ebbitt around the corner, big, noisy and filled with tourists.
