Thank you for your compliment. I love being outside in Wyoming. So much to do and so many beautiful places to see and rocks and fossils to find. Hate the long winters, not being able to get outside and explore. I get cabin fever every winter, but the summers are so worth it.
It is close to South Pass city and the Carissa gold mine. I need to take the time and look for gold. I look for it when I am panning for garnets, but so far just a whole lot of Mica.
I have a lot of garnets to do things with. Now that I am retired maybe I can come up with some craft ideas to make with them or if I could find a jeweler who could make jewelry out of them. A couple on my first trip years ago, said they make greeting cards with them. Make designs and glue the garnets on them. I bet I could think of things to do with them if I put my mind to it.
I have some vials for sale on my Wyoming Earth Treasures google site. The site does not get that much traffic so not sold very many. I wish I new a jeweler that could make jewelry out of them. The garnet jewelry I see in the jewelry stores is very pretty.
Sorry it has taken me so long to answer. The largest is 1/2 inch, then 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch and the smallest is 1/16 of an inch. If anyone would like to save the smaller ones that fall through the 1/16 a 1/32 inch could be added. There are a lot of small ones that fall through my smallest one.
I’ve been there, lived and worked around there. Beautiful area with a lot of history and wildlife. Good spot for Moss Agate not to far away. Good vid!

Never realized there were so many garnets in a river....What do you do with them?

I forgot to say in the video, any where in the river where I was at there are garnets galore. That area is behind the South Pass rest area.
Nice explanation.
Thank you
They are so small, how do you sell them?
