My grandson uses the used rides and I keep them running 😊
He has 6 of them ready all the time and we service them every week end, keeping extra parts is a must and saves money 😊

I have an identical mower with a similar issue. I think the right side spindle bearing is on the way out, But there is actually about a second long delay when you engage the PTO.And it takes the blades a couple of seconds to get up to speed. It's really weird. I hope The spendel is the cause

I'm going to try and start a long business soon. I have 6.
Riding mowers that were all given to me that I fixed up. Only one is commercial grade, But I have less than two hundred dollars invested in each one. The first.
Thing I'm going to do is save some money up to buy commercial grade mowers.

I always work on the buy once cry once theory when I buy tools or whatever.
I mostly buy commercial grade things like mowers, whipper snippers and hedge trimmers etc as they don't get a lot of use but I want them to work when I need them.
I'm actually thinking of going over to 18v Makita tools for some of what I use such as a chainsaw, hedge trimmer etc so I don't have to muck around with 2 stroke fuel but it's hard to justify spending so much and selling off the ones I already have that are working very well.
I hope your customer manages ok as not making money sucks.

I have switched over to electric tools.. drills and mechanics tools but also blower and hedge clippers and all.. I absolutely love them and not messing with gas anymore .. buy once cry once exactly

Napa belts last twice as long as oem belts 😮

I feel the angst vibe this videos giving towards the mowers owners unnecessary need to mention. "Ohh great, so now I can't go to work".
Somehow his problems are now tied into your ability to fix ASAP. So not only did he sour a mood with the unneeded can't work blurb. He's rushing you on top of that.
This planet controlled by paper has everyone on edge. Oh great I can't chase paper.🤣

You are spot on.. that is exactly how he acts and what he says. I am considering no longer doing any work for this man.. he shows up at 5am without notice.. sometimes he doesn't pay the bill for months .. and its always as fast as possible cause I am holding him up from work.. I have never turned down a customer or someone that needs help but I am thinking it over with this person.. Thanks for watching, subscribing and taking the time to comment it means a lot

@MunkyWrench no problem man. I just enjoy analyzing the situations other's are put into. If it was me I'd use the 3 strike rule moving forward. While also being stern on upfront payments for labor and parts.
It's better than losing a customer but if that customers more of a headache than what it's worth. It's best to humbly cut ties and move on with peace of mind.

Have a husqvarna yth18542 that's been giving me issues running. It starts up, and the motor sounds kinda rough.
I changed the oil and filter and cleaned the old air filter with a light spray off. It seems to want to overheat when the blades engage. Do you think the carburetor is going bad, or could it just be on its last leg?

    • @MunkyWrench

Thanks for taking the time to subscribe and comment it really helps.. I don't think its on its last leg.. but I think almost everything can be salvaged lol.. I am not sure what you mean by (overheat when you engage the blades) I am assuming you mean it slows the motor and looses power.. I looked it up and its a single cylinder , so that makes checking things a bit easier. You changed the oil and cleaned the filter.. Did you change the spark plug? A dirty carburetor can cause lots of issues making it surge or run rough also.. so if you feel up to it, I would clean the carb and see if it improves.. also if the fuel lines are old they may be collapsing and causing flow restrictions.. I assume it does not have a fuel pump so i'll skip that.. and the last and most important thing ... when is the last time you adjusted the valves.. they get out of spec and will cause it to run rough and loose power. My most popular video on my channel is (mower spitting, sputtering and running rough) it shows you how easy it is to adjust the valves step by step.. Change the plug.. drain the old fuel out of the system including the carb if you are able and put fresh gas in it... let it run for 30 minutes and see if it clears up. Feel free to message here or email for more detailed info.. and let me know how it goes

Lines. Everything is oem. What could I possibly be missing?

It’s mandatory to have grease able spindles if your in business mowing 😮😮😮
Do it yourself is not everyone can do it

  • @philliphall5198

We drill and install grease zerts and remove the inside cover on all riders 😊
If he can’t afford a spindle he needs to get out of business
