    instead of using the + button to add vehicles to the convoy, I suggest using the rightmost counter (e.g. the 4 in "Unit 1 of 4" in the Vehicle Group UI) to increment the group size. This accomplishes two helpful things:
    1) if you have named your first unit as something-1, then the next one you create will be something-2, and it will actually be the 2nd unit in the group, not the first (which as you pointed out in your video, is what happens when you hit the + button)
    2) The new units get created behind the leader, which is more intuitive when creating a convoy than using the + button which creates them in front of the leader
    This behaviour is consistent with how creating groups of aircraft work. You notice that there's no + and - button when working with an Aircraft Group. Like you said, sometimes the Mission Editor is just a weird, inconsistent user interface.
    Great video series by the way Sidekick! Even though I consider myself fairly experienced with the ME, I enjoy watching others go through it as methodically as you do, we can always learn something new from observing others.

    Didn’t know about the mission editor shortcuts. Thanks!

    I really appreciate how you are building on the same mission, instead of starting from scratch each time. Looking forward to future videos!

    This is super helpful for us noobs! Coming from another sim (IL-2 in my case) it's easy to get initially intimidated by all the bells and whistles of DCS, and when that happens you don't utilize all the tools this sim has to offer. Thanks for the no-frills explanations, and now I plan to make a few missions so I can practice with my warbirds!

      Good to know. The plan is to keep these up about once a week for now. Tune in on Sunday for your weekly dose of Mission Editing!

    How do you make a plane hidden on the “known threats” section of the briefing, but still visible on the F10 map?

    Amazing beginners tutorial! Do you plan on expanding this series to more complicated subjects? Would love to learn about triggers and actions for AI!

    Is CTRL F11 not working in ME these days??? 😢

    Cool tips on the mission editor . Been using it for a while and that ctrl+f11 was new to me. It will be very used from now on. Do you intend to cover the strategic placement of units eventually? I know it's another subject, not specifically ME, possibly for later on, just asking. Thanks for another useful, elegant video. Straight to the point, very precise, well spoken.

      Glad to have any thoughts on what you think should be covered. Just working through the basics for now. Next week, I think we'll work on making things move! That ought to be a hoot...

    How do you make a night mission I can’t figure out how to make it night. Thank you. Greg

    • @Sidekick65
      @Sidekick65  3 года назад

      There is a little icon in the ME that looks like a cloud. Ckicking on that opens a dialog where you can set the date and time (at the top) as well as the weather conditions.

      Just change the time. Sunrise and sunset times are sensitive to time of year - as far as I know. Sometimes a bit of trial and error is required
