I wish I was half as stoic as that Strela operator dutifully sighting in on another Hog while hundreds of rounds 30mm HE landed only a few yards away. Guy must have been reading his Marcus Aurelius.
My question is: if the A-10 is a poor target from the side and worse from the front, will RoboPadMan get a tone from that angle? Seeing them sight the weapons then put them down seems to indicate they see the jet but aren’t getting tone. But then it might be just distance, because when you flew closer they took the shot. (A human player might have gotten bored and taken the shot anyway. Sometimes AI have advantages. They follow orders/doctrine programmed into them.)
I wish had enough insight into the AI to answer those questions. My understanding if their behaviour is purely "empirical" I only know how I have seen them behave - as to why? That's all just speculation.
I always wondered, do the 'pads (and any other opposing force platform for that matter) have a certain number of rounds before the are 'winchester'? I mean, it would only seem fair that if we only have so many rounds before we run out, it should be the same with the enemy. Or at least after the 'pad launches, say, 5 missiles that they would need to wait a set number of minutes before they can fire again.
Yeah they run out if they aren't within the ring of the supply truck in the mission editor. Stingers and Iglas will reload in 2 minutes. Page 316 of the manual has the reload times for all the units as of 2020 (the last time the manual was updated): www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/upload/iblock/ed6/87v22jwd1xh51i3rgki944xsf503istq/DCS_User_Manual_EN_2020.pdf
@@MDFire150 It's in page 319 of the manual (tried pasting you the link before but it mighta got caught in the spam filter). MANPADS like Stinger and Igla take 2 minutes to resupply. They might have an ammo supply of 3 missiles before they need to resupply but I'm not sure. The manual actually has the reload times (as of 2020 last it was updated) of all the ground units. It needs to be within the radius of a supply truck, you can see the black ring around the truck in the mission editor. Not sure if you need a supply truck if it's within the the black ring of an airfield though. Hope this helps!

Ah well, the Barbarians came for him eventually ;-)
Did some brrrrt and Mk82s hurt you? No, it is only your perceptions that hurt you.

Love it! 👍😂
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video, and even some usefull on the matter. I didn't know that Strela can't work from the front perspective.
Thank you Iain.
Man I wish the A10A was full clickable

I think it works that way. It's the way all other missile systems work in DCS. But i don't know the details.
@@Sidekick65 Thanks. Doesn't it always seem they have more?? lol
