Billy does not tend to break the fourth wall, only in that particular trailer is that a thing. But his enthusiasm penchant for more dakka, and general red-and-black color scheme still makes him pretty Deadpool-esque. The biggest difference in personality is that Billy is less insane and more of a massive fanboy, particularly of the Starlight Knights (who are basically the in-universe power rangers) but he gushes over other people as well, such as the Manager/player character and an in-universe movie star named Monica.
Nekomata is part of Nicole group’s you are right it’s just that she joins her groups later in the game and all the other groups are formed before the story starts.
Anby's a fan favorite, that I'm sure you would love in game. While techinally none of them really break the 4th wall, Anby is the closest you get as she kinda lives her life narating her actions and also humming a "soundtrack" to herself. It just happens to be that the soundtrack she hums is the battle tune for the game, and she's often quite on point with her naration - but she's not aware of being in a game.. she just amusing herself as if life is a game at times.
You also see a few NPCs get a bit meta - I found listening to this game's namesake interesting, as she shuts herself up with the reminder too much exposition from a minor NPC is bad on the first meeting.
ZZZ is near future tech. However when hollows started popping up around the world ether corruption affected things like smart devices and microchips and the like so a lot of new-age tech was lost or deemed unusable. Most consumer grade items people are using resemble old world technology like CRT monitors and magnetic tapes. However shielding methods have been developed so you see more new technology being used in certain areas. Billy mentions he was from the outer ring of New Eridu the city you play, It's positioned away from the largest hollow that swallowed the old city.
Note that cassette tapes are being manufactured in the real world today to release new music on, as in a good part of the world they last longer than CDs. The recording industry will do what's working for them; if you can no longer guarantee phone and Internet access for consumers they'd start switching back to physical media.

Also Lighter is in Sons of Calydon, he's shown up in the game in random encounters with Piper, usually around Lumina Square. And there's at least one other biker lady in Calydon that was in the early game trailers but we haven't officially seen yet. And I think Jane Doe has been teased, some ppl have assumed she will be with the Crime Investigation team, but I'm not sure if that's been confirmed.
I mean if you're super interested in what the gameplay is there is a gameplay trailer among other really cool trailers as well. Also yes ZZZ is an Urban Fantasy ARPG so the setting is quite modern with retro elements, because of lore reasons.
Billy is less Deadpool and more just fits into the "chatty goober" character archetype. The Cunning Hares are, in general, just a walking team of movie references, too.
Characters in general are trope-y. so far. All of Victoria Housekeeping are the classic movie monsters. (Frankenstein, Living Dolls, Werewolf, Creature from the Black Lagoon)

Nicole is a character that puts up a heartless front, caring only for money and nothing else... But in truth She is a real sweetheart and extremely caring person towards those she cares about. However, at the same time she rly is heartless person towards those she doesn't care about, she would use them and scam them without second thought to help those she cares about having a better live.
ZZZ's technology level is odd. It was much higher tech but the hollow disasters drove technology backwards a little. As for Nicole.... she's not a bad person. She's just morally gray, leaning toward light.

If you have to describe the world, it's more of an old-school early internet time with hackermen and thriving video rentals (you can compare the atmosphere to Kung fury) But with elements of futurism in some technologies, due to the fact that this is essentially a post-apocallipsis, where the current civilization is quite a lot thrown back in development compared to the previous one, but some technologies of the previous civilization were still preserved, so you get such a combination of old-school and hitech (including implants/prosthetics, which are not as common here as in cyberpunk, but still take place)olhackers
Nicole is nice, but Billy’s maintenance, Anby’s movie and eating habits tend to put the group in the Red. She cares for them more than money, so she haggles for everything and scams debt collectors Nekomata’s relationship with the Cunning Hares is a spoiler for the game’s story.
19:40 This reminds me of a webcomic I found once where the entire premise was about how cats were actually aliens who brainwashed humans to take care of them and treated earth like a vacation resort.
ZZZ happens in a post apocalyptic future. This is why it feels both modern and futuristic. They live in a modern society but they were technologically advanced in their past
Nicole is a good girl, she is indeed a sweetheart, but she's also someone who grew up on the streets, so she's picked up more than a few tricks up her sleeves lol

Man i was super excited to play this game but uninstalled it after 3 hours after i realized it is just dodge and spam attack simulator on repeat with few combos art was cool characters kinda lacking in design and story up to 3 hr mark was super boring also the tv mini game made me almost fall asleep star rail and genshin are way better
Its a shame as you're still likely in the prologue section. The combat just like genshin expands a lot once you get past level 40 much like in genshin past AR30ish when things don't instantly die in one rotation you actually have to think about applying elements. In ZZZ There most definitely are combo's beyond button mashing not to even talk about advanced combos like disorder. I will give you the TV mini games are too frequent and long compared to combat which a many have said and hoyo has already talked about it. They know how it was taken was a mistake so they are changing it to be more interactive and less time consuming/tedious as most agree the combat is great just less time in TV mode.

Genshin and zzz are different, too different, also the combat demands more and more from you the deeper you get.
