Probably one of the most iconic themes in all of motorsports.
1999-2018. Not always the best racing or coverage, but one of the longest-lived and best themes in any sport.
It definitely served its purpose - seeing through the reunification and launching the next era. Always gives me goosebumps.
NASCAR on Fox’s theme has recently surpassed the 19-year lifespan of this song.
Still not as long as NFL on FOX.
@@waremergencypower6024 NASCAR on Fox had a long break though. NFL on Fox is definitely longer though, and some of NBC's themes are as well.
CBS has been using the same theme for college football since 1987.
I honestly miss ABC/ESPN IndyCar coverage, especially when Allen Bestwick was the lead announcer.
I also miss Dr. Jerry Punch as a pit reporter. He was a staple of both NASCAR and IndyCar broadcasts on ESPN!
I'm OK with ESPN losing the TV license because their coverage is godawful, but this song is amazing.
This would never happen, but I wish ABC would give NBC the rights to this music next season, at least for the 500. NBC's theme is alright, but this is indeed amazing.

Awesome theme. It was played since CART era, and after passed it to IndyCar Series before the CART's bankrupcy.

Everything time I hear indy car I think of Paul Page and the late Bob Jenkins.
THEY'RE INCHES AWAY AT 214 MILES PER HOUR! Still miss hearing that whenever I rewatch a 2003-04 ABC race. Heck, the one intro with the generic open wheel engine sounds and the excessive zooming and camera shaking/flickering effects (2006-09) was my favorite.

Rumor is 2018 is the final stop for Indycar on ABC
This theme might be coming back in 2025 as Indycar's current TV deal with NBC expires at the end of this upcoming season. NBC recently renewed their portion of the NASCAR rights & it is unlikely that they would want to spend the same amount of money to keep Indycar especially since they also want to get the NBA back.

In the Japanese IndyCar broadcast segment of " future broadcast schedule " , which does not include the commentator 's voice was broadcast by chance .
Intro part was forcibly replaced by the normal version because it was a short version.so, there is a little gap. and sound quality is also not good because extracted from the television recording.Please note that things.
I went to watch the "100th running Indy 500" from Japan. It was the first overseas trip , was able to spend a very emotional time!!!!!

Did you root for your fellow Japanese countryman Takuma Sato? He won one race either last year or 2013-14. The first Japanese-born driver to win an IndyCar race, and he did it at Long Beach. I'm African American/Black, and there hasn't been an African American IndyCar driver since Goerge Mack in 2002. Hopefully one of us will make it to that level, but not me, I don't want to risk dying due to a crash. Local American short dirt and pavement oval racing is what I want to race in real life, except Sprint Cars, Midgets, etc because they are pretty much as bad as IndyCars. You've probably never heard of Dirt Late Models, the highest level I want to move up to, but the closest thing to it you probably know is NASCAR. I know the only pavement oval in Japan is Twin Ring Motegi, and the only Dirt Oval in Japan is the Dirt Track at Twin Ring Motegi. I know a lot of you guys are more of a road/sports car/drifting type of auto racing culture.

just heard this on the indy 500! This theme gets me pumped up! Includes the 500. NBC better have rights to this song when ABC leaves indycar. only the dual the detroit races are the last 2 on ABC before NBC takes over from now on. So i better enjoy what i got because this theme will die off soon after detroit. Welp both the detroit races are finished this theme is gone now :(

I think he recorded this from parts of the Japanese version of the 100th Indy 500 broadcast. But still, the best on RUclips so far! Hopefully, ABC and ESPN will get their stuff together and release an official version of this song that someone can easily put a perfect, clear, HD, and 100% complete version of on RUclips in a matter of minutes!
