"hello I'm bob Jenkins and welcome to today's day of qualifying for the 86th annual Indianapolis 500 here on ESPN, let's go down to Jack Arute who's alongside last year's race winner Helio castroneves...." Is all I hear in my head along with this
I listen this song and I just can remember the Andres Agulla and Alex Pombo coverage for Latam, the greatest duo of commentators I've ever seen. Regards from the devalued Argentina.
This might be the best theme for any sport to bad Indycar wasnt popular and this would be a song people would remember like the Monday night football theme.
The first Indy 500 after "The Buy" of RP,imagine Roger Penske made the famous phase to turn the engines, defintly huge and flawless victory for the CART owners

TNT is not bad... and Fox College Basketball doesn't even use the original NBC exclusive cut of "Roundball Rock" ("NBA on NBC audio original" is the title of the NBC cut, which is less repetitive than the main one), they instead used the main version that's available out on the market.
Such remarkable and awe-inspiring theme that captures the speed, danger, and spectacle of racing.

So much nostalgia hearing this. Reminds me of being a kid
I very much agree with this comment.
I have literally been looking for this for 5 years. Thank you so much!!!!
THEY ARE INCHES AWAY AT 214 MILES PER HOUR!- Paul Page
ESPN Latam used to play this song on the IndyCars coverage ... when you listen this song you know the Indycars boys were ready to go
The IRL days come to mind names like Robbie Buhl Mark Dismore Eddie Cheever Tomas Scheckter especially 1999-2002ish
They also used this for NASCAR's 1999 Brickyard 400 at Indy.
LOVE THIS THEME!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!! AWESOME 👏
Yeah this makes me want to sit down and settle into watching a race... early june... nothing else to do... pre-smartphone days...
Totally!! I was in my mid 20s and not yet obsessed with maximizing/monetizing every spare moment. Watched entire seasons back then.

Blame TG in 1996, before then it was IndyCar that was one of the top sports
Listening to this today with the Indy 500 coming up on Sunday makes me wish this race was still on ABC.
With Paul Page on the call!

Why can't they come up with an NBA theme like this??? It's been garbage for the last 18 years

Sorry I made an edit.
Would love to have this as opening theme music for Indy car on Fox sports in 2025
