    Called up a technician on thumbtack and they were asking for $100 to just take a look. Found this video and I turned off power and let my dishwasher sit for 3 days idle and the water evaporated as it’s summer time now for us and it started working fine.

      Hey there. We're glad your dishwasher is working again after a few idle days, likely due to evaporated water. If problems recur, start by checking the power connection, cleaning filters, ensuring an unblocked water supply, and running a test cycle. For persistent issues, consider contacting a professional repair service. Remember, it's best to have a technician check your dishwasher to avoid overlooking any underlying problems. Feel free to reach out if you need more help. ^ Diego

    Ok, so I solved this problem no thanks to the misleading graphics at 2:30. So my daughter used regular dish soap and caused it to go into the AE error and it wouldn't turn off. So I took the kick plate off via the two Phillip screws underneath and looked for water. Nothing. So I pulled the whole dishwasher out and not a drop on the floor. Come to find out that there's a plastic drip tray and you have to reach up into that to soak up the water. So, take off the kick plate, and stick some paper towels or use a shop vac to suck the water out of inside the middle black plastic tray. As soon as the water is drained (doesn't have to be bone dry), turn the power back on and give it a whirl. Fixed mine immediately.

      @@Hipoporita Yeah, I did. Yours might still have enough water to trip the sensor? I think mine had a float so dampness didn't matter... I can only think to make sure you're getting all of the water out of the pan, but it could be another problem...

      @@MyFortressConstruction Thank you for responding! I really didn't understand why I had to turn off the breaker switch since unit is already unplugged but even some professional people mentioning so I tried and of course it didn't change anything. So I contacted LG customer service by Twitter and they responded but telling me the same thing. I told them once unit is unplugged, breaker switch has no effect to the unit. Now my next step is to pull out the unit and tilt and see if any water in the back that I can't see. We live in a very warm and dry climate and I thought water dried up by now (2 days) but still getting that AE chimes so I'll try to pull it out and see. Thanks again and wish me luck!

    I just want to say, LG, this is the most infuriating dishwasher on the planet. I encourage all of you to daily drive your own products before subjecting the rest of us to this unmitigated garbage. I never want to own another LG product as long as I live. The noise of this thing chirping its AE code haunts my every waking minute.

    fixed my LG dw this way: Empty dw of btm rack and filter parts. Dry floor of dw and sop up all water in filter hole in floor. rig shop vacuum to blow thru hose.Stick hose end in hole, tie it there if need be. Run vac for 20 minutes. ck for code cleared or remaining, repeat if necessary. I didn't have to. Joy!

      @@jerryb5838 Wow, very interesting idea! No one else mentioned about approaching water from that part! I found some people suggesting also pulling out the unit and tilt to get all the water on the bottom tray (mine is dry as far as I can see but may be more water in the back??) so that was my next option as soon as my husband is available to help me pull out the unit but I can try this by myself. Gosh, hope it works! Contacted LG support but not really knowledgable, told me to turn off the breaker after I told her I already have my unit unplugged so what's the point?? Thank you for the info and I'll keep you posted 😉👍

      @@jerryb5838 I was lucky enough to find a mini Shopvac and a flexible tube attachment from a different vacuum that fits perfectly so I tried to suck up some water that came out after turning on the unit and pump motor spits out a bit of water. Did you stick your tube down deep in the drainage?? My tube isn't quite small enough to fit through the hole deeper. I was wondering if yours went further down the drainage hole on the side of the filter hole. Am I doing this correctly??

    Do you need to turn off the breaker?? Does it make any difference resetting the unit or is it just for the safety?? I followed the instruction except that I didn't turn ooff the breaker switch. So the plastic tray is what you have to soak up the water from, not on the ground like it shows at 2:35. The black plastic tray has a float switch and once you drain the water from the tray it will work again. I used paper towels, but you could use a shop vac to suck out the water.

      Kickplate is usually screwed in with 2-4screws.
      Turn the breaker off before you poke around as there is live voltage and its not meant to be poked around while live

    What is the point of turning off the circuit breaker if the unit is unplugged? Come on guys.

    • @LGUSASupport
      @LGUSASupport  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi, There! The reason for this step is to ensure there is no residual electrical current in the system. Even when a dishwasher is unplugged, there can still be a small amount of electrical charge stored in the components. Turning off the circuit breaker helps to fully discharge the system and reset the electrical connections. If you have any future questions, you can send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport and we'd be more than happy to assist. ^James.
