  • for whatever reason I thought suds in the machine was tripping a sensor. when the tub overfilled with suds, my neighbor had mentioned there was water on the floor after the wrong dish soap was used.
dried out the drip pan and I think it is working.

came Home to an Over flowed LG Dishwasher. Did all the usual checks. Followed the Drain line from the unit through the Garbage disposal. Found the Sink drain was clogged and was not allowing the Dish washer to Drain. This caused an overflow " AE " code. Once the sink drain was cleared the water from the Unit could flow out and the unit worked fine

Is your dishwasher hooked to the anti siphon prior to the garbage disposal?

This machine was erroring because that bottom tray had water in it from over sudsing. I would turn off power and look under the machine for a water leak, they have that catch pan in the bottom with a sensor to detect water in case of leakage. I knew the source of the error was caused by the kid putting the wrong soap in the machine. I took a paper towel and wicked the water out of the pan. If you dry out that pan and it still errors you might have a seal leaking. I can't remember what else can trigger that error. I think a blocked drain can trigger the error if you are finding no water under the machine. I know this machine the water got in the pan from the front door when it over sudsing. Vinegar cuts dish soap foam.

So if you turn it back on and it automatically starts running the drain pump, that machine thinks it has water somewhere it shouldn't at start up.

@@MAGnetICus_Attractus My girl used dishwasher soap after I told her not to LOL when I turn the power back on I can hear the drain pump and see a little water bubble up. I'll give it a few more days.

@@AIRWOLF3636 if you remove the 2 bottom screws there is a catch pan, just make sure to disconnect the power and not be a dummy like me reaching in around live wires and water. Vinegar will cause the soap not to suds up, but if water dripped into the catch pan under the tub that machine detects moisture there and will keep trying to drain the tub till that catch pan is dry. Why I wick out the water with a paper towel or rag. There is only a small gap between the motor and catch pan. I told this owner to run the machine one time with vinegar and I had to dry out that catch pan before the error cleared. I learned the vinegar trick when someone's child poured a bottle of dish soap in my fish aquarium.
