I have words for it : very slow race. Quali time around 1:18. Race time around 1:26. Only last few laps got around 1:20. I was at the track. I really looked like I could beat them all with my model3 RWD.

@@learcusNico Müller did a test with Porsche where he impressed them and people were speculating that he could replace Da Costa for next season due to his poor start into the season. The DSQ from today didn't help Da Costa either but at least he has shown that he's capable of winning races. Whether we still see him at Porsche next year is a different question but for now, let's see how the season turns out for both of them

I'm assuming you're commenting on the wrong video as while there's high kerbs on this track there's no sausage kerbs. The reason the kerbs are set up like this is because it's a circuit designed to race bikes with this being the first event anything like this to ever take place. So obviously the circuit owners aren't going to tear apart and alter the track with no actual proof those types of kerbs would cause any actual damage.

Extended highlights like the 30 minute videos that Indycar put out a few days after their races would be good. 5 minute highlights give you a sense of the circuit, retirements, and the end result, but don’t really give any sense of the ebb and flow of a race. Full race replays would be the ideal - even if they’re on a serious delay, like a month after the event or something? I get there’s TV deals, and Formula E can’t jeopardise viewing figures for the broadcasters who’ve paid for the rights, but please, please give us a longer highlights package/replay than what we’re getting at the moment.
Great thing is coz the track is so wide for these FE cars, and for electric cars the slipstream is strong, there was constant wheel to wheel action and cars running side by side for laps together.
You can still get a decent slipstream if drag is high. It's enough that the car in the lead will use up more energy. Look at nascar bumper drafting for example, not super high down force, but being close together makes them faster together.
Fast charging really needs to come for these type of races. If they're planning more permanent circuits from next season onwards, i really hope thay have it sorted by then. 2 laps shorter tomorrow should make the race a bit less mental at least. Also, shoutout to Ticktum to get p5. What a drive by him and ERT. Really nailed the strategy for once, even if Sette unfortunately got a penalty for energy overuse.
The people who manage the Formula e RUclips are a bunch of amateurs and it is a joke. They often spoil the winners and the highlights are edited poorly. They cut quickly from an accident or overtake, never show a replay... Wow.
Vergne's car at the end of the race looked like most of cars at the end of a 5 laps unrated race in F1 23 online lobbies. Broken Front wing, broken rear wing, damage to the diffuser and sidepos

Vergne the bad driver of the race without him fighting for lead we could even fighting for the win in terms of Cassidy & wehrlein but it turns different, just unique racing action - Dac attack got us, 6 winners in 6 races Fe want another Motorsport record for the most different winners in a season, Guenther from midfield was on the run for the win so recharging makes it an overtaking bumper cars action, Rowland on another podium acation the magic #13 get his 2nd premiere win on a track can't expect something different then this today 🤩🏆🤯🥶🫶🍾🥳🏁
not before propper charging pitstops and more energy per lap. I bought tickets for both days a while ago hoping the charging would be ready to implement. But it wasn't. Quali was a good watch. and the last 2 laps of both races were fun. Everything else about the race was really bad.
For these permanent circuits where there's a lot happening I feel we should have an extended highlights version as well. Stuff like Mortara crashing out and Da Costa going from midfield to second and Buemi doing the opposite are missed and it just feels weird

The corner cutting in this race was ridiculous. The amount of cars that had all four wheels off the track multiple times around each lap is just a joke.
It doesn’t really matter if that’s the decision the race director made. Everyone had the same options for line choice. If he said no one can put two wheels over the white line then that would be that. But they didn’t.
Due to the peloton effect in Fe, being first is bad as you lose energy. I don't know why they even bother with quali. Should just be the results order from the previous race. Starting last is not a bad thing in Fe.

It’s time to end this type of racing by making these races on the slipstreaming tracks 30 minute flat-out races. When everyone’s coasting, regenerating and braking at different points you have total chaos in the braking zones and tons of broken wings and other damage. It just doesn’t work and it needs to change.
They should've ran at a higher energy capacity as well. They ran at 38.5kwh when they have the ability to do a race at 40kwh. That would help a lot, especially for the shorter race tomorrow. Also it's clear these cars really need the fast charging for these sort of tracks. If we had that the lift and coast wouldn't be nearly as severe. So I hope they can get that ready at some point.

It's something we'll see evolve over time as the cars get faster and battery capacity gets better. Just at the moment the FE specific layouts are still needed.

When F1 will start look like this, I will stop watch it immedialy. No way, this FE race was a farce! I watched entire race and it was huge cringe. Corner cutting was everywhere. Energy managing caused turtle pace of all drivers. Many leaders but not thanks to good fight, but managing - simply nobody wanted to lead to save energy. I know, strategy, but for me it's opposite to DNA of motorsport. Look at Moto GP, there is good racing and leaders change. Here is tragicomedy with quite good drivers, but they won't help. Sorry, I prefer F1 even with domination, because it's still RACING.

Tom Brook's commentary was lacking in this race, as ever. He made an exciting race seem boring and unimportant at times. We need a new Formula E lead commentator.
I think problem is these sort of races are really hard to call because a lot of the racing does feel unimportant due to the extreme energy saving at play. I think in general he's done a solid job so far. He did great in Sao Paulo for example.
They should get Jack back. I don't condone what he allegedly did, but punishing someone for life isn't the right way. Even murderers get second chances, and Jack (along with Dario) was just the perfect fit for Formula E

Nah, their slipstream is weak due to the very low aero level. It's the massive amount of lift and coast that caught them out

Nothing really. Just there to look cool. Aero is pretty much non existent in this series, i think it's only really the diffuser that does anything
