    Well edited, well scripted, well explained, this is gold standard educational content. Most youtubers (genshin and otherwise) just do a low effort slap of some barely relevant footage over a rambling script, but you made every single thing that went onscreen actually useful and timely in illustrating the concept at hand. If only every class I'd taken had this kind of clarity. o7 this is amazing.

    Loved this video a lot, but as someone who mains Childe since day 1 when I was damn surprised he didn't get mentioned during the No ICD part. Genshin's in their 3rd year and he's still the quickest hydro applier and the reason combining him with Xiangling who has no ICD on her burst makes his dmg so sick T T

    • @jyolikearock_
      @jyolikearock_  Год назад +126

      Absolutely agree. Only reason I didn't include Childe is because I don't have a copy of him, so I couldn't get any footage of him lol. But otherwise, I would've mentioned him for sure - definitely not a coincidence that the Childe National team is one of the most consistently powerful and longest-lived team comps in the game.

    • @theianeia
      @theianeia Год назад +22

      I mean Childe has an ICD. It's just that, his ICD for NA, CA, and Riptide are all separate, making him have 3 sources of hydro application which is why his hydro application is so quick.

    Bow charged attacks some times do have icd. You can confirm this yourself by using diona’s constellation 4 effect, when you stand in your burst and charge attack you can see that she does not in fact apply cryo with every charged attack, but instead uses the 2.5s rule.
    Tho that might just be a diona problem :D

This allows her to hit Vaporize on her 3rd and 5th attack string, which has the highest multiplier on her normal attack. Also if she gets too much atk speed to a certain point the vape order will change, this is apparent when she gets to c6.

      @ayayo9288 Год назад +4

      @@aldyzero6676 Well while I agree that it isn't a completely new idea, I don't think they took it from the avatar series. There weren't many reactions between elements in avatar, only earth+water =mud or earth+fire=lava kind of stuff. I think vaporize melt and overload kind of reactions in genshin are easy to come up with just by imagination but implementing these reactions in a game and setting the amplifying rates are very cleverly done. Also I don't think the ICD idea was taken from anywhere, I mean different kinds of videogames might have had it but Genshin didn't come this far by just taking inspiration from things that already exist.

    Sorry for a long-ish comment, but....
    I started playing Genshin Day 1. I knew right away, I was going to save my primos. Once I got Diona, when she first came out... I played with the same team for the next 10 months, until I got Yoimiya. For those 10 months... I hardly paid attention to elemental reactions... I knew of them, but I pretty much just used Superconduct for my main source of damage (with Fischl as my main DPS).
    Once I started expanding my teams a little more... I felt I kind of had to learn more about elemental reactions. That's when I hit up youtube to watch videos. With a much more broad understanding of elemental reactions... I felt I was good to go. Then I started running into this thing called ICD. I googled and watch so many videos, that would try and explain about it is. But all those videos did a terrible job explaining it. The only knowledge I came away with (from watching those videos, and reading comments) is that ICD just means you're restricted on how often you can trigger elemental reactions.
    I don't care much for Meta. I'm like 1% Meta, and 99% just play with whoever I want to play with. So I didn't bother learning EVERYTHING about ICD...since I was having trouble finding people who could do a good job explaining it.
    Then, I just happen to stumble upon this video tonight...... and wow! I can't believe, in a 10 minutes video, you were able to explain so much, in so much detail. Putting on-screen graphics of what you're talking about, helps A LOT!! Also, explaining how specific characters are when it comes to ICD is amazing. I learned so much from this video, that no other video did a good job at teaching.

    ICD is also entity dependent. Different entities will have different ICDs. For Yae's E, the turrets hit the enemies randomly, and each enemies has a separate ICD of when the element is applied. In groups of enemiers, Yae can technically apply electro a lot more than expected. The same is true for the burgeon and hyperbloom reactions on bloom seeds. The faster your trigger hits regardless if those hits don't actually apply the element, they can trigger more burgeon and hyperbloom reactions.

    God I wish this video existed two years ago. I generally understand ICDs nowadays, but I spent a lot of time feeling very confused and no explanations were good enough to paint the whole picture. There are some things in this video that I still had no idea about and no one had ever mentioned, like the 3-hit rule. Awesome job, I wish all Genshin content was like this.
    Edit: The madlad even included the builds of every character he used in the video at the end because he knew people would ask. A lot of character/team showcases don't even do this for some reason. I like this guy.

      I guess that most casual youtubers don't even know a thing about this, whereas the the more Theory Crafting centered channels already covered this mechanic long ago and their viewers knows so there's no need to talk about it, you gotta search specifically for how icd works to get videos talking in depth about it

    tbh, I wanted to pass this video because usually, when they put "They don't want you to know this" it's usually a completely useless and groundless thing. But this video was actually super cool and I really enjoyed how to get to the point it was. Thanks!

    Something you should consider when talking about units like yanfei who has normal ICD in her normals. Because her main gameplay loop is to stack her sigils and vape her charged attacks, having normal ICD on her normals make sense since in actual scenario when you're using xing qiu on her you dont want the hydro to be immediately snuffed out or to be overridden by pyro right before she can perform her charged attacks. If there isnt any ICD tied to her normals, it kinda breaks her kit design and it'd be impossible to get any actual vapes onto her charged attacks. The same thing can be said for yoimiya who also follows the same idea as yanfei but in her case her normal attacks are a string of continuous pyro instances. Again if she doesnt follow the ICD rule, it'd be impossible to sustain the hydro aura on the enemy with just xing qiu or yelan and you kinda have the same issue with yanfei. Once the enemy gets a pyro aura on them its gg and it'd be impossible to get them back onto hydro.

    "They DON'T Want You to Know About" you can say that to every in game combat mechanics e.g Elemental Gauge Theory, HitLag extension, snapshotting, Elemental absorption priority etc.
    When the TCG got released I questioned on why there is almost zero tutorial on combat mechanics but explained TCG in full detail. Hoyoverse really don't want you to know how fighting in this game works fr

    Because of my RNG luck early on I got C2 Mona, this makes her normal attacks have a chance to trigger charged attack with no stamina cost. With her fast normals + charge + taunt pulses I find she's able to layer hydro really fast. After watching this I'll want to look into who can team up with her for rapid reactions. C6 Fischl is usually with her, might need to build some Dendro.

    I’ve been playing Genshin since Klee’s 1st banner, but my friends have played since the first Venti banner,
    We’re pretty much Day 1’s
    HOW TF has this never been publicly established/explained by Mihoyo?? This feels wrong lmao like they knew it was put in place to stop us from progressing but I feel like it cheats you out of earned damage you worked hard to build characters for.
