Thank you very much for your tutorial. I had watched several other such tutorials, and was very frustrated when things weren't working for me. Your tutorial was the only one I saw that explained about that "little pocket" that needed to be lined up with the lever on the new actuator. That is a very important detail, which was completely ignored by the other tutorials I watched. Thanks again for being thorough in your explanation! : -)
I am glad this helped you. I tried to cover every step. I used to pull the whole lock out till I had the aha moment with the stubby screwdriver. That trick saves so much time and aggravation. Sadly both my black cat Skink seen in the video and my xB are no more. Skink got sick and passed over the rainbow bridge. He would greet me each day when I got home from work by jumping up on the hood of this car when I pulled in the driveway. My xB passed on May 18th at 300,248 miles when I hit a Deer on the way to work. Car was totaled, I was going to save it but I found too many damaged parts.
Can you give me a like? I have had to replace 3 of the 4 actuators on this car, this is the 3rd drivers door actuator. The first one lasted a long time, the cheapo knockoffs not nearly so long. But at approx $100 for an OEM and $13 for a Ebay unit I will go cheap. I am betting that Harbor Freight has a similar screwdriver. My videos would be better if I had somebody to hold the phone. Also I am a real novice at using the video editor.
what could possibly help when the door won't even open? i have the actuator, but cant get the panel off as the door wont open from either inside or out
Hi I just saw your message. Is the lock button stuck down? If it is pull up on it real hard and use the inside door handle to open the door. I have had one of these actuators jam in the down position and that worked for me. Sorry I didn’t see this sooner. Tim L

Thanks for the video. Great tip on the screwdriver too.

I’ve got an 06 with a balky drivers side lock, this is a great help. Too cold in Chicago right now to tackle…
Hi, just saw your note, I buy the cheapo actuators off of EBay.
Very nice work with video in some tricky situations! Top shelf stuff here. Hopefully will help my brother fix his xB.
Hi I just did the passenger side front door actuator. It is pretty much the same, but fewer connectors for arm rest switches.
Great vid! Does the drivers door lock carry power to the other locks?
what could possibly help when the door won't even open?

It cannot be easy to put that thing in one-handed while filming with the other.
