I just got done replacing the front passenger actuator. 1, I hung the plastic interior door panel to the side with a bungee. so no unwiring was needed. 2 the replacement part had an extra plastic arm on the pointy moving part next to the ball socket. I cut and ground that extra arm off to match the old actuator and the actuator snapped right in. I also bought a replacement actuator for the drivers door, and it did come with the correct plastic arms. so no modifications are expected. Get someone to hold the light source.
Thanks for this video... My daughter and I just replaced the 2 actuators in the back doors. Very small space but we got both done in anout 90 minutes or less. The biggest issue was not having enough room to get a tool in the door to get the screws out. We are going to pay a window installer to put the 2 front door window motors and actuators while i install the door speakers. Wish us luck!
As you’ve probably discovered, it’s not. My driver side door went out and I’m trying to figure out how to replace the actuator but my door configuration doesn’t look like this and the actuator looks different as well. Don’t want to get in there and realize I don’t know what the heck I’m doing. 😂 Let me know if you had luck replacing yours.
Hey Shak, it might be your actuator. I have another video showing how to check your actuator before replacing. If you follow that video and you have power every time you push the button then I would say the actuator is sticking and should be replaced. Does it work everytime you use the key fob?
Thanks for addressing the nuance of that ball socket and pin. I was wondering why I was struggling at first.
I'm surprised you don't have more viewers for all the help you give on your videos.
Becuse I, like others with no experience, expect to show step by step how it is done. Not explain but not actually do it to have the whole experience.

It’s crazy how all 3 of the passenger sides go bad at the same time, but the driver side is still good. I have the same issue on my 2005 xB
I Have the same problem, same model
On mine, they are all bad except the front passenger door! Will replace all 4 as soon as parts come!
@@kirkmangamingwhere did you end up ordering your replacements?

@@BBWilly05 You're welcome! Glad this video was helpful 🙂
Favorited this video -- do you happen to have one for the windows too?
So you have a link to the part you used?
Great Video.
Hi, nice video, it seems easy. Is it the same actuator for a scion xb 2012?

Is this the same for the rear door?
The term to stop torque is , license plate tight
Good job
my door locks but very hardly unlocks from the cabin. I need to play around 8-10 times until it unlocks. Could this be bad actuators?

Mine I push the button and the doors lock on unlock and unlock on lock
Change the labels on the switches?
