    Maybe they also rework the King Air as that one can also use some love after they did so on the TBM.

    Thanks for your videos. I would like to share that I did a flight previously and noticed couple of minor bugs:
    1. The speed bug freezing and not changing on pfd even though I can change it on mcp, going to vnav and then back to speed again fixed it that time.
    2. I was flying online and noticed the squawk code gets partially erased multiple times even after setting it again. (Like you spotted in the end as well)
    3. Also when I pressed approach PB, only the LOC PB was engaged but I could see both LOC and GS armed on the Pfd. And once it captured the Loc, APP PB also engaged by itself and all 3 APs engaged automatically. Although didn't cause any issues with flying the approach normally, but seemed unusual as I was thinking it to be similar to the 737 AP.
    4. Also found the manual brakes to be very weak, but the auto brakes seems fine. This was also highlighted by Jonathan Beckett in his video.
    Any ways much welcomed updates. Happy to see the default air crafts getting these much needed overhaul and becoming usable for normal flight now. Hope these bugs get fixed soon. Thanks.

    Near 41:31 when you go Flaps 5 and then the N1 drops to 27% and below, that's when the sound shows up. I was able to reproduce this same sound while flying a pattern with a 747 whenever I throttled back to idle. Most of us flight simmers don't even use the PMDG to its full capacity I was guilty of that in the past. Doing some failure scenarios within P3D opens a whole new story ARC however. :D

    It sounds like you really like the aesthetic beauty of the 747 as do I. I flew on my first 747 when I was 6 or 7 years old. It was 1971 or '72 and a TWA -100 to Rome. I think it was brand new had the Twin-Globe livery. It was awe inspiring to say the least. My family was going to Rome my dad got stationed in Naples in the USN. I have loved the 747 ever since. In my opinion it is the most beautiful commercial jet airliner ever built. The Concorde was beautiful airplane but that's comparing apples to oranges. how many passengers did the Concorde fly compared to the 747, probably not even a comparison. Who could afford it.

I have a quad throttle setup myself and I always use only engines 2&3 for taxiing on the 747. But then I certainly use the left or right hand engines to help me with turns. Do 747 and for that sake, A340 and A380 use all 4 engines for taxi? And do they use the tremendous power they have on their wings to help with taxiing?

Looking at how the PMDG 777 and UFT are (not) progressing for many months already, I think many of us are going to get old and probably die before their 747 is released for MFS 2020, or at least MFS 2020 will be out of support that time, there will be MFS 2040 or so.

    I am currently flying this route from Vegas to Miami and everything is working perfectly except the VNAV after takeoff. This is a problem I don't seem to be able to solve, neither on -8 nor the 78X. After takeoff the aircraft climbs to 10000 feet, respecting any restrictions along the way, then refuses to climb any higher. I have found that if I change to FLCH and constantly hammer the FLCH button until the aircraft has climbed past 12-13000 feet then it will continue. I have tried all sorts of arming of the buttons before takeoff and nothing helps. I have also renamed the Community folder ensuring no interference from any add-on. Later addition: I have now reached the later part of the journey and the descend experience was the same as previously mentioned. The aircraft leveled off at 10000 feet and then I had to resort to the same as during the climb namely hammering the LVCH button to get it down to 8000 feet and then everything worked. Any idea or comment would be appreciated.

In this landing I've noticed you set the gear down at roughly 2000ft MSL and also set flaps to 20, but on other videos...say for example the Palermo circle approach in the A320, you've set the gear down at around 3000ft MSL.

      It will depend on the aircraft type and approach flown.
      In the 737 we put the gear down at 4NM in VMC and 5NM in IMC, on the A330 we do it at 2500ft AAL for normal decellerated approaches, earlier for early stabilized appraoches.
      For most aircraft 6NM (roughly 2000ft AAL) works very well and gets you fully stabilized through the 1000ft gate.

    Any likelihood of simbrief integration?

      There is full Simbrief integration, just hit RTE -> Request and the current Flp imports. Obviously you have to add your Simbrief ID and that's it.

    When I engage lnav and vnav it does not neither follow the flight plan nor the cruising altitude but it stays at 10000. Also when it is time to descent it does not descent. What do I do wrong?

    • @ChMueller001
      @ChMueller001 Год назад

      Try to switch shortly to the heading mode and then back to LNAV. That solved it for me when I had this bug one time.

    • @ChMueller001
      @ChMueller001 Год назад

      Before the T/D is reached you have to enter a lower altitude without pushing the button. It then descends automatically when the ToD is reached.

    • @harrisfafoutis5148
      @harrisfafoutis5148 Год назад

      So let me get this straight. The fact that lnav does not follow the flight plan is a bug and it has nothing to do with me. In vnav I have to put the cruising altitude without pressing the button and when I cruise I have to put a lower value in order vnav to do its job when it is time to descent. Am I right about all these?

    WT are some talented guys without a doubt, when I first got my hands on (what was then a 3rd party addon) the G1000NXI and saw how much care they took in the VNAV profiles, RTF’s in RNP approaches,etc. that was pretty evident.
    While for a base package update it’s great, still would have liked to see an EFB and the lack of simbrief integration (particularly for AOC uplinks into the FMS) is kind of a non starter for me.
    I suppose I’ve became spoiled with the likes of the Fenix A320ceo and PMDG B738 lol, but I will just wait for the PMDG 74 (:

      On a completely separate note and totally off topic lol:
      Anyone know if Simbrief/Navigraph has any intention on expanding on the OFP formats to include more carriers? Missing some of the domestic (US) staples like FFT, AAU, SWA, NKS, et al…
      I’m sure it’s a PITA as you need to have the support behind it of a dispatcher familiar with that particular carriers OFP packs and maybe even permission from the carrier? It wb nice to see the list expanded a bit though.

    The update is awesome, but I feel there is still something lacking in terms of the inertia. It just does not feel as heavy as it should. to me the PMDG - 400 version seem very realistic. Obviously I’ve not flown the real aircraft so I have no baseline.

    • @jdzzl
      @jdzzl Год назад

      The default 747 is more of the WT 747 now although Asobo did the modeling and original FMC (which was horrendous). Salty 747 as of now is irrelevant as the systems did not come close to the current default 747 (which "Working Title" improved dramatically). If you have the salty 747, uninstall as of now until they make changes on the new default 747 and continue to update.
