You have a wonderful way of explaining things. I tried swirls from another instructor but felt unsure where to put the "hook". Your swirl and over the top clicked for me. I went from too much thinking to flowing. With your tutorials my quilting has improved. Thank you!
I just want to thank you for the videos. I’ve been binge watching your videos. I’m now following you on Facebook too. I can’t wait to put some of your tutorials onto my quilt. I just received a long arm. Thank you, thank you, thank you 😊
I’m a symmetrical quilter as well and I’m trying to be ok with not being symmetrical. Every time I gift a quilt or a piece of quilted art, I practice not pointing out the things I feel I didn’t do well on, or places I didn’t like how it turned out. I have to tell myself that in the grand scheme of a piece of quilted art, no one but me will ever notice the bumbles. I’m still working on being ok with bumbles. It’s a struggle. Thank you for such a great video. I have learned so much from you, and I look forward to learning more.
Sometimes you just have to let the need for perfection go and enjoy the organic nature of freehand and NEVER point out what you perceive to be 'mistakes' or flaws. It's all part of what makes freehand quilting so darn awesome! ;)
This is an awesome instructional video, so very helpful. I don’t have a long arm, but have been able to convert these things using my sit-down mid arm and would encourage others to try, even on a regular domestic machine. Thank you for sharing your excellent talent. It is greatly appreciated.
My longarm is on order. I purposefully opted not to add digital component be cause my style is balanced organic. Thanks for this video that resonates with my style.
Tracey, I’m always impressed by your videos, if you don’t mind me asking, what are you using to video your quilting and how do you attach it to the machine? You videos are always done very well. Thank You for your time.
I have only just found you and I am new to longarm quilting this is just what I need. Thank you You refer to your drawing lesson where can I found that please. Jan
The drawing lessons were only for the students who took the class originally. I'm glad you like the video and I hope it helps with your new learning curve!
I always work my freehand quilting in manual mode. For me, it's the most comfortable. Eye lashes can be caused by going too fast in a small area. It has to do with needle flex. Just low down a bit and you should be good.
LOVE your videos. I learn so much because free motion quilting is my passion. If I may ask, what is the blue device connected to your long arm handles?
You are indeed a fabulous quilter & a truly great teacher. You have certainly found your calling 💕💕. Enjoying your videos so much. Cheers 😊💕🥰❤️😍😘
Thank you so much Joan! I really appreciate the kind words! ❤️❤️❤️

Enjoy playtime!

Awesome. What brand was that fine white pencil you used?
It's a Bohin mechanical chalk pencil.
Love this design. Do you always take your stitch regulator off when you do curls, swirls, etc? Is that why I get eye lashes?
I always work my freehand quilting in manual mode. For me, it's the most comfortable. Eye lashes can be caused by going too fast in a small area. It has to do with needle flex. Just low down a bit and you should be good.
Is this online class still available? Love this!
This particular one isn't but I do have another online class available on my website Pat! You can check it out at www.whirlsnswirlsquilting.ca. :)
The green on black shows up well.
Kyrptonite is my FAVOURITE Glide colour!:D

Thank you so much Robyn! I'm glad you are enjoying them! :)
What is the best thread to quilt with?
I use all different kinds of thread. Experiment with different weights and colours and have fun with it!
@@whirlsnswirlsquilting4362 I've learned so much from watching you
