Their first album "Midnight Oil" is one of my favourites. "Nothing Lost and Nothing Gained" is an amazing song. I could listen to an endless loop of that guitar solo for hours. "Powderworks" and "Run by Night" instantly impress and the whole album is to be enjoyed though may need to be listened to a few times so it 'grows' on you. "Red Sails in the Sunset" containing classics such as "Kozciusko" and "Best of Both Worlds" is essential to any Oils collection.
"Head Injuries" is really Aussie themed, I really like it and songs such as "Back on the Borderline" are easily liked by all, it may take you a while to get used to "Bus to Bondi" but it's worth checking out. There's the mini EP's "Bird Noises" and "Species Deceases" put "Species" in there as essential Oils, 4 great songs. "Bird Noises" is a bit different, I've been surprised over the years by the amount of people (I wouldn't have suspected) who've told me they love "Wedding Cake Island."
I don't know anything about Australian Aboriginal music. So when I listen to this tune, it sounds exactly like a Native American Indian backbeat. Either way, it's a great tune.

The early stuff was the hardest hitting and arguably the best.
I had this Cranked up this morning, as i was waking up. Recommend it...

Love that Little Guitar Riff Right at the End...as it fades off.....

Nice collection of pics. I love this song. I need to go out and buy the CD. I killed my cassette tape years ago! :-D
My favorites are Blue Sky and Diesel, with Earth and Sun and Moon right after those 2. You can't mess with any of those.
I nearly forgot "Place Without a Postcard" it's a must have album.
