One thing I really liked about this episode was, despite how angry Simon was, he was the only disciple who didn't question that Jesus could feed the multitude.
Also, every other disciple thought he was nuts for getting out of the boat, and Simon knew Jesus could hold him up. Of course, that was the reason for the anger. He understands and wholeheartedly believes that Jesus could have healed Eden and doesn’t understand why he didn’t.
Jesus, peace be upon him, can do nothing Except by the power of God By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. My friends, whoever tells you that Jesus is God has deceived you Jesus said there is only one true God Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I had the honor of getting to be one of those 10,000+ plus extras that sat in the crowd while filming. I can confirm that it was extremely hard to hear what Jonathan (the actor who plays Jesus) was saying, even when he was speaking loudly. It felt so real to sit there and be part of recreating this story and miracle. It was an experience that I will never forget.
Yeah. One time I only knew what he was saying because I knew the story (the father who asked his two sons to work and one said no but did and one said yes but didn't)
The contrast of Simon unwillingly going under when he doubts versus Eden willingly going under due to her faith is incredibly profound. Lots to chew on there.
Insightful…the imagery was beautiful. The Holy Spirit is definitely moving through the people of The Chosen. It’s so right on. Praise the Lord and His mysterious ways.
Yet, Simon was the only one to get out of the boat! Love, love, love Simon! Anger is hurt and disappointment trying to find release. Though I'm not male, I can't say enough how much I relate to him and love his faith and desire to serve our Lord , and even when he failed, he lived the rest of his life for Jesus even unto death.
The Feeding of the 5000 was an amazing experience that I will never forget. During the filming, when Jonathan held up the bread, there was total silence except for birds chirping. That moment was spiritually overwhelming. I know I was not the only one with an audible gasp. Yes, we all knew it was the actor and not Jesus, but there were so many believers gathered, God's presence was felt.
We fail to understand the significance of our vibrational attributes. When we're in disruption, the calm vibrations of another can help us to modulate - we can help 'tune' one another's hurt.
He could teach classes in counseling... Loved how he helped her. ..not telling her what to feel, but instead validating what she was feeling and just being present in it. That's how people heal... Just beautiful!
In the boat he said to Simon, "I let people go hunger and then I feed them" A throwback to the miracle that he just did when he said to the crowd" "I have kept you here all this time giving you spiritual food but you clearly need actual food now". He is the hunger, He is the food. Love it!
I love how they blended Simon's relationship with his wife and the trouble they're going through with the walking on the water scene. And it's almost easy to be upset at Simon for feeling the way he does but also understanding how he could feel angry. It was heart-wrenching to understand his pain and his feelings toward it all. It never felt like he lost faith at all but it seemed he felt slighted in some way. How they played it all together in the end with Eden's purification with Simon walking on the water with Jesus pulling him up.... Wow! I appreciate you guys doing this after every episode I absolutely look forward to it. I've been waiting for this one for so long lol
I just loved that show introduction with David and Betsheba... The humming sound of the male choir in Minor 😊 Amazing!! What a gold thread to the whole episode. I enjoy your reactions, guys.
Because of much abuse in my life I can understand the anger Simon has. I spent my childhood quite angry with God myself and through many miracles I learned how much God loves His children. This story plot and the walking on the water and what Jesus says to Simon tugs at my heartstrings. I have watched this episode many many times. It's my all time favorite one of all 3 seasons.
Ditto... exactly... I had a similar childhood, but rather than anger, I turned everything inward and felt unloved and so much more. I've watched the walking on water scene over and over... Extremely powerful and healing... My favorite scene ever!
at 20:20 you spoke of the women grinding the wheat for a large part of the day. In Africa in the rural areas, that happens just like that. They grind the wheat in bowls and when it is ready, they use it to cook food (I am from South Africa)
You know what really struck me after watching the walking on water scene was that Jesus could have calmed the storm at any point before He got into the boat. That He waited until He and Simon Peter were in the boat shows that He wanted the disciples (and us) to learn a bigger lesson. I loved this episode and your reactions were terrific! 🙏✝️❤
Ah man, you skipped over the Shmuel and Jesus scene! I’m really interested to see how Shmuel develops after this. He definitely looked like he was softening. I couldn’t stop crying when I watched the walking on water scene. That imagery when Jesus reaches down into the water to pull Simon Peter back up. And Simon’s crying and saying he was sorry…that hit me pretty hard.
Yes, I was expecting them to say more around Shumil. His reaction when the priest spit on the man i believe served as a mirror for what he himself had been doing. I'm also glad that Shumil followed Jesus for prayer.
I agree. That was actually my favorite scene. If they went up on that cliff to pray, did maybe Shmuel see him walk on water? Cannot wait to see what happens with him.
The storms of Galilee are kinda infamous. Because the cold air comes down off of the mountainsides around the lake and clashes with the warmer air, and will literally create full blown storms seemingly out of nowhere with massive swells in the water. So a story about being on the SoG during a storm would resonate with people the same way a story about driving through Death Valley with a broken air conditioner would connect to anyone who’s driven through it, which I have done 🥵🥵
When visiting Israel in 2013 I had the devotion on our tour boat on the Galilee. A beautiful sunny day! During my closing prayer a storm came up out of seemingly nowhere and when our eyes opened… everyone was terrified! It can happen quickly!
I love watching the two of you explain the episodes of the chosen. I’ve been a Catholic all my life, but my guess is I slept a lot in school during religion class! But you have answered so many questions that I’ve had, and the beauty of the chosen is amazing and has touched me in so many ways. But I appreciate the two of you and thank you for doing these and all the other videos that I’ve seen that you do. I did have to laugh about trying to walk on the water next time you’re at the sea of Galilee. You’ll have to let us know if you hear any maybe giggle coming from above when you try that! Thank you for everything and God bless!

Your comments on this last episode was so powerful to me. Brought me to tears to recognize one more time the Sovereignty of God. He always shows up. Praise to God!!!🙏🙏
@katharinemenning I was there too - life changing! I struggled to hear Jonathan the first time on set so I moved closer for my second time. I bet many many people who were actually there that original day experienced a desire like we did on the day of filming to get closer to Jesus and hear more!
I wish you had shown the last scene of this episode when after coming up from the water, Eden looks up and says “Please don’t let him go…don’t let him go”…that just solidified the whole side/side of the episode. Just my thoughts.
In case no one else has yet answered ... Dictionary definition ... fish, plural ... "noun, plural (especially collectively) fish; (especially referring to two or more kinds or species) fish·es." Love your commentaries on The Chosen. Thank you.
I so appreciate both of you! Just know that what you say and teach touches my heart and helps me through the days! I prayed for both of you and the loss of your sons after getting to know you and your journeys and now I know what you face daily. I just wanted to say thank you for being yourselves and loving Jesus! ☺️
I thought the scene with Eden and Simon wrestling with faith due to a personal tragedy blaming Jesus even with all of the blessings and miracles they both had seen was extremely powerful and poetic. It also brought a feeling about how man and woman together are one and struggle together as well as saved as one.

I really enjoy your reactions to the episodes - it is great the way you help us to reconnected to the Jewish roots of the gospels. However, I was surprised that you did not comment on my favourite moment - when John sees Jesus coming on the clouds - but none of the others see Him . Such an amazing touch - referencing John's writing of the Book of Revelation and why he is the 'Beloved Disciple'. I guess that it had more impact on me than most others. The Chosen has helped me see that, much as I can identify with many of the disciples, that John is my favourite.
I’ve been accused of folded arms and not listening. I just do that. I had no clue why. Until my daughter found a picture of my dad, grandpa and 3 uncles standing together. All with arms folded!
When one of the apostles says to the man with the broken leg " you should go get that checked out!" By whom? Judea urgent care? I almost fell off the couch laughing!
We have forgotten that this are real people, dealing with emotions and problems in their daily lives, even thou some parts are added, the struggles that they face in those times are still felt till this day. We are Humans, we are weak in the sense that our needs are not just from physical rest and food but also from our relationship with our God. Our Lord is perfectly Holy, and He needs our genuine allegiance on those times that we are burden by difficulties in our lives, to rely to Him and praise God in pain and suffering. In the end our life here on earth will pale to what He has prepared to those who love Him. Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ forever, Amen!!
“Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking towards them across the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!!!” they shrieked, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I! Don’t be afraid!” “Lord... if it’s you...” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But Peter took his eyes off Jesus and when he saw the wind and the waves he was afraid and all at once he began to sink and he cried out in a panic “Lord! save me!!!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him and pulled him up. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” And when they climbed into the boat, the wind and the waves died down and the sea was suddenly calm. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God!” - The Holy Bible, The Book Of Matthew, Chapter 14, Verses 25-32
In Nevada we have a small lake called Pyramid Lake and the storm's come up fast and the waves can reach ovet to 3 feet. Many lost their lives in that lake boats and people were never found. Also it has a Hugh rock pyramid coming out of the water. Google if you haven't seen it.
Wow! Im so very sorry for your loss... Thank you so much for sharing your story and your supernatural experience. God is faithful... He lets us go hungry, but then he feeds us. Your story has blessed me today. Bless your heart...❤
Simon is a "raw, very real". He's struggling with how Yeshua healed other people around, but he and Eden is there and he could not save their unborn! We do feel at times as if He doesn't care about us. As Tom says He is the God of the storm - basically He can calm the storms in our lives, He has the controls, He "has His Hands on the Thermostat" per se, let's keep trusting in Him and continue to Turn Our Eyes upon Him! 🙏
I love you guys. I will probably never meet you in person this side of heaven, but I can't wait to spend eternity with you two. Dr Tom's heart is beautiful.
Thank you so much for sharing your reflections. I learn so much about our Jewish roots and the traditions that are our heritage as Christians. I don't live that far from Kansas City and would love to meet you all some day! Until then.... ever united in the Body of Christ!
Mikveh is very appropriate for new seasons or new beginnings or going from one state to another. For Orthodox men, many will do mikveh daily or especially on Friday before shabbat specifically for the spiritual mitzvah (good dead) that is it for the person's soul. A groom and bride will often go to mikveh before the wedding.
You two make me laugh so much !!! It helps every time I feel down ! I learn Alot, as well! I thank you very much!!! Sincerely, Stacie Myers Jarreau, LA.
When I lived in Memphis, I got a chance to visit Beale Street (during the day). At one end, there was a blues band, 8 white guys, yuppies, who did a great job. They had practiced, were polished and were recording-ready. At the other end of the block was a three-man band. One looked like Willie Nelson, while the other two were black. They looked like they had just been released from prison after 40 years, or had spent the night in an alley-way down by the docks. They were slightly off-key, didn't hit every note or word, and their music had more flow than structure. They were playing the BLUES. Guess where the crowd was? Listening to the three guys. Not because their music or their lives were perfect, but because their music and their lives matched. When I read the Psalms, I get the same impression. David poured out everything before the LORD, good and bad alike, and, as he put it, wept until his bones were dry. And his musicians followed suite. So yes, the Psalms are great example of how to write poetry and music. And in the same way, the Chosen TV series is similar. It's not perfect, and it's not trying to be. It's trying to be honest, and portray pain and joy as we experience it, and as God addresses it through His Son and our Savior, Christ Jesus.
I had the absolute honour of going to Turkey and visiting the 7 churches of revelation with my sisters. TJE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Our tour guide was sooo knowledgeable it was the best. So if you could go to Turkey GOO!!!!
When I travelled to Israel they told us that some of the parables or stories were told in specific locations that helped naturally to amplify the sounds.
My daughter was baptized when she was nine, but at age 19 she was baptized again, and it marked a recommitment after years of just going through the motions. She said it wasn't necessary for her heart change, but it felt like an action she could more tangibly relate to than the one years ago.
Thank you for sharing your biblical view on this episode of the chosen it really helps to put a better perspective on the reading of the word and how to apply it to my life each day. Thank you again guys.
Loved the video and commentary. I can imagine Matthew and Judas (and probably a few more) losing their lunch off the boat as most were not sea-faring men.
When I pray over my food it's with thanks giving to God for His provision, and I pray over the food itself, and for the hands that prepared it to be blessed because of their sacrifice.
Not all churches tell you to keep your eyes on Jesus. A ĺot of things in Catholicism which I was raised in did not pan out. Being away from it for almost 40 years, I will never go back.
I love the eternal prayers of the psalms. Given by the Holy Spirit back then, was truthful and holy throughout centuries and until today we can take part on it 😭
When people have brought us food its been some of the times I've felt the most isolated. People would bring food say something meaningless and leave. I understand that they might have been doing their best but it wasn't enough. Almost never did people spend time with us. We were spending so much time just dealing with hospitals, drs, nurses and paramedics. So so so utterly isolated from community. The pandemic was almost, no it actually was a relief, from all those superficial social interactions. Now we have a lady that brings us a meal per week and she spends time with us. She chats. She has developed a relationship with us rather than just having us feel like a recipient of charity. Now I don't criticise peoples efforts. They were trying to help but what they were doing, or rather the way they were doing it, wasn't helping. Helping people dealing with grief and trauma is so hard because so often no one knows what people need including them. It takes time, effort and patience.

I'm headed to Israel next month for the first time. It's the land of my forefathers. I'm a pastor (and a gamer obviously). NGL - I totally planned on sneaking down to the water's edge and attempting to "go for a walk". You guys are entertaining and heartwarming. It does my heart good to see other men like me who desperately love God openly get emotional about it. Thank you.
I follow a different than each of you, but, I wanted to say to all of you that following your path, whichever it is, is the destiny of your soul and spirit. With the troubles of the world so real, it's your faith that will give you strength and will give you strength for the forthcoming trials ahead. May the universe and your lord smile on each of you and may you appreciate the words spoke in these videos. It comes from love and kindness. Regardless of our faiths, these folks are teaching you to love and to trust. This is the power our enlightened ones. Thank you gentlemen, Well done.
I recently discovered your channel per RUclips suggestion, and I'm enjoying your videos. I don't know why exactly, but listening to you guys is soothing! 😊 God bless you, keep up your excellent work.
Goose comes from Anglo Saxon, while horse comes from Latin by way of Old English and moose comes from Algonquin , hence the different plurals. According to Grammarly The plural of fish is usually fish. When referring to more than one species of fish, especially in a scientific context, you can use fishes as the plural.

And how he knew that joy won t help her in that moment ❤. The desperate psalms are more helpful.
The best part of the scene with the infected leg is when they all sit down to listen after the healing.
Loved it

When Sam mentioned Andrew’s basket, it was John’s, also Simon’s, that was separated from the group. Andrew was front row, center.

Fish and Chips. A ROCK and roll with it miracle. Yeah...
When one of the apostles says to the man with the broken leg " you should go get that checked out!" By whom? Judea urgent care? I almost fell off the couch laughing!
“An outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace.” Ritual cleansings can be very powerful. Nice discussion - thanks!
Thank you for your raw honesty in your love for Jesus. It is beautiful.
It is I! Don’t be afraid!”
“Lord... if it’s you...” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But Peter took his eyes off Jesus and when he saw the wind and the waves he was afraid and all at once he began to sink and he cried out in a panic “Lord! save me!!!”
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him and pulled him up. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind and the waves died down and the sea was suddenly calm. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God!”
- The Holy Bible, The Book Of Matthew, Chapter 14, Verses 25-32
In Nevada we have a small lake called Pyramid Lake and the storm's come up fast and the waves can reach ovet to 3 feet. Many lost their lives in that lake boats and people were never found. Also it has a Hugh rock pyramid coming out of the water. Google if you haven't seen it.
Thank you Sam and Dr. Tom. I love your reactions to all the episodes of The Chosen. I cry and laugh with you. God Bless +
Alot of great theology by you two in this video❤
Me too.
Thank you so much for sharing your reflections. I learn so much about our Jewish roots and the traditions that are our heritage as Christians. I don't live that far from Kansas City and would love to meet you all some day! Until then.... ever united in the Body of Christ!
One of my favorite times with you guys. So good! Thank you!
I loved the various groups, when the guy with the broken leg ran off, like clockwork all turned their eyes on Jesus :-) It was awesome!
The Spirit has been leading me to read the psalms and make that a priority.
Thank you for explaining “mikfei”. I had often wondered about it
You two make me laugh so much !!!
Based upon revelation given to a prophet, Angels were there to magnify Yeshua's voice so everyone could hear. It was done supernaturally.
I had the absolute honour of going to Turkey and visiting the 7 churches of revelation with my sisters. TJE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Our tour guide was sooo knowledgeable it was the best. So if you could go to Turkey GOO!!!!
I still don’t understand how the 7 churches of Revelation play into the end of times, considering Turkey is Islamic.
When I travelled to Israel they told us that some of the parables or stories were told in specific locations that helped naturally to amplify the sounds.
Fishes are multiple types of fish together. Fish (plural) are many of the same kind.
Yes just like people and peoples.
Winner
@@irisriley3284 when in a conversation is peoples used (I've never heard it because people is already more than one)?
I, too, have been baptized more than once like Sam. I’m glad to be in such good company.
Atticus got the leftover food. :)
When I pray over my food it's with thanks giving to God for His provision, and I pray over the food itself, and for the hands that prepared it to be blessed because of their sacrifice.
Thank you guys ! ✝❤🕎
I love the prayer you listed
Thank you
Not all churches tell you to keep your eyes on Jesus. A ĺot of things in Catholicism which I was raised in did not pan out. Being away from it for almost 40 years, I will never go back.
I just want to tell you guys how very much joy and understanding you give me. Look so forward to meeting you all in heaven one day soon. ❤
Excellent commentary!!!!
Loved this....
I love the eternal prayers of the psalms. Given by the Holy Spirit back then, was truthful and holy throughout centuries and until today we can take part on it 😭
Wonderful teaching on the Psalms, guys! Thank you so much. Training for the soul and healing, because it's the living word of God. Amen.😊
Can’t wait for the new season!
I love and agree with everything you said

Just love your play on words 😺👏🏻👏🏻
I love the sprinkling of the water during the Easter season in the Catholic church.
Thank you.
Amen ! Let us know ( I'm sure you'll film it), if and when you do walk on the water. 👍🏽🙏🏽
Fulfilling part of the prayer… give us this day our daily bread. He always put his money where his mouth was.
And speaking of word usage -- grinding the seed to make bread -- hence the daily grind.
I love when, during the walking on water scene, Judas hollers, "How is this the second most amazing thing I've seen today?!?" 😂
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen. Thank you guys!
Been waiting for this one....
I would argue that we still live in a world in which the sun and rains and their balance are incredibly important.
I have been waiting for this for a longest time! Thank you! ❤❤❤
