I picked up a Magnifica Evo about a year ago and absolutely love it, but I now have espresso machine envy with this one. All those cold drinks options look amazing!
What specific grind and other settings to do you recommend to start when trying to dial in an espresso shot with the DeLonghi Eletta Explore? I’m a newbie and ordered Lavazza super Crema beans to start with.
Hello. Just had a question regarding the calibration that you do with the hot espresso. My espressos keep tasting burnt and butter was hoping you could give me some tips. Thanks
Soul has flat burrs grinders which are more consistent and more expensive that can pull consistent espresso grinds every time Eletta adapts a cheaper Conical burrs grinder which is used by most other machines. Both machines have 19 pressure bars. Eletta on the other hand supports 50+ variations of drinks, cold brew, and convenient for-to-go coffee.
Can you make a comparison video between the Eletta Explore and the Primal Donna Elite. Both new coffee automatic machines at a premium price. I see that the Eletta has so many more options some of them really important like the ability to make an Americano or to brew a travel size drink, not to mention all the cold drinks. With this in mind I don’t understand why the Prima Donna Elite is more expensive. I guess my main question is what makes the prima donna elite better than the Eletta explore to justified the higher price.
It's about the grinder, Sir. Primadonna adapts flat burrs grinder which is more expensive and can get you more clear espresso. Eletta adapts a conical burr grinder which is a cheaper one. I think it would be astronomical price if the machine was able to brew all these 50+ drinks with a flat burr grinder. =))

Hi! There's no right or wrong setting. Every machine, every environment, and every bean will be a little bit different. If your shot is pouring slow and tastes sour, then use a more coarse grind setting, alternatively - if it is coming out quite quick and has a bitter taste, then use a finer setting. And for the best performance, make sure to change the grind size while the grinder is running. It's like gears on a bike, if you change them when stopped, it doesn't work quite right. Hopefully that helps!
Can you please tell me how to use the steam wand on this model? We just bought it, but I can’t use the carafe because I have a milk allergy, and it wouldn’t be safe (or convenient) for us to swap back and forth between milks using the same carafe. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to use the steam wand to heat up my plant milk without the carafe.
Hello. What does the maximum coffee strength translates into in terms of grinded coffee portion? A 14 grams like the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus or more? Thanks.
You show that you can change the size of the drinks from S/M/L but is there a way to change the drink size output to ounces so that you don't pick say medium or large and your preferred vessel ends up being too small causing overflow or spillage.
Unfortunately the machine measures via seconds spent dispensing, not fluid ounces, which makes things a little difficult when you’re trying to fill specific cups. I asked customer service about it and they said it’s because the machine can’t tell what kind of milk you’re using, and dairy/plant milks dispense at different rates.
I have a question regarding the milk container. We used to have something similar for the milk container for another brand coffee machine. The milk became sour rather quickly as the container was not closed air tight. I wonder if it is the same with this one. It made me step over to a external milk frother so I could keep the milk in the milk package air tight.
Yeah. Its the cold brew version. Only difference from ECAM450.55 is cold brew. I just bought 450.55 yesterday because IMO it’s not worthy to pay around 200 more just for that.
@@lagosj77 for me, not really. If you add a lot of ice it will still be cold. Don’t need to wait 3 more minutes for your coffee for 200 bucks. Even in most coffeehouses they just make glass full of ice, espresso and foamed warm milk and it’s always cold as ice giants buthole
I watched the livestream last night, may I know the model number you used in the video as there are some info saying that not all Eletta Explore models use the DeLonghi app. Also, do you prefer this over the Dinamica Plus which has a dual boiler? I am currently debating between the two. Thank you very much and great video as always.
We are using model# ECAM45086S. The Dinamica plus does not have a dual boiler, but we must say... We are truly a fan of both machine, though the Eletta does have a little bit of a leg up on the Dianamica Plus because of it's extensive beverage menu!
There are a few older models of the Eletta, but this one has user profiles unlike the others, a much larger beverage menu, larger bean hopper, easy navigation, improved brewing technology, cold foam capabilities, a to go mug setting, a colour display touch screen, the list goes on!
