As a Steelers fan I remember this game pretty vividly. Our O-Line was total garbage that game as well as for most of the season. Shows how great Ben is that we were able to win the Super Bowl that year with all the clutch plays he made that season despite that O-line. Definitely a legend!

@@elijahhartle749 The fact that Ben is still playing after all the abuse he took early in his career is not appreciated nearly enough. Brady had the benefit of an outstanding Pats O-line for YEARS. I don't think he be playing into his 40's if he had the Steelers O-line prior to the Mike Munchak assembly.

Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jim Johnson noticed that when teams showed pressure in the A-gap (over center), the Steelers pass protection call was to pinch everything in. So he showed A-gap pressure but blitzed corners and safeties off the edge instead. The Steelers didn't have an answer for the speed around the end with that pass protection call.
Jim Johnson was one of the best DCs in the history of the NFL. It's a shame they don't put coordinators in the HOF, they really should.

Does anyone else appreciate Jason Avant? He has to be one of the better 3rd down receivers I've ever seen. He reminds me of Danny Amendola, with his penchant for acrobatic, clutch receptions.
He played for the Eagles for several years before signing with Carolina in 2014, then later signed with the Chiefs during the season. So basically he played for Andy Reid for nearly his entire career. In his last game as a pro in the 2015 playoffs against NE, I recall he made a couple insane contested catches on 3rd down. Underrated career.

Along with the Ravens these two teams were in a class of three defensively in 2008. No one else was even close. Pittsburgh and Baltimore were one and two with Philly juuust a little behind in third. Whoever was fourth was in another zip code.

I vividly remember being so distraught after this game. The Steelers offense looked so awful that I thought they'd win 6-7 games. A legendary defense and top 10 all time QB helped them win their last Super Bowl. Such a satisfying season and that defense needs more respect. Literally #1 in damn near every major statistic in an offensive minded league with a below average offense.
