Looks great Roothy, water to air intercooler on the crossover pipe would probably solve the air leaking problems because they bolt straight in and they are more efficient then air to air anyway. I hope I'll see you up the telly track soon.
Howdy from Texas Roothy !!! I look forward to hearing Roothy's Australia every Friday morning. Come to Texas and run the trails in the Big Bend National Park and enjoy real bbq mate.
love milo 1 and milo 2, they both suit your laid back knowledgible easy going 4wdriving.Over the years have learnt heaps from you, i notice both milos have fedral tyres, whats your take on them?
Looking great Roothy, I love both trucks... great to see a comparison between the two. What brand shirt are you wearing mate and where can I get me a couple..?
Looking great so far but the Donaldson is looking a bit high (to high for the maccas drive through) and the gap between the cab and the canopy could be filled with something (extra storage compartments maybe) to make it look better and more aero which makes less noise and better fuel economy. But other then that I would kill for milo 2
Good on ya John, have really enjoyed watching the build of Milo 2. Mate, any chance you could rotate the Donaldson so the air intake points towards the front (instead of up into the air). It just doesn't look right sticking up that far, and I reckon it's gunna be a magnet for tree branches.
Has all been very interesting and technical but apart from the personal joy of doing it as a project can I ask why in the end you could buy a new 200 series for less and have a modern truck or a Jeep ranger for less?
I doubt he spent any of his own money on the project, if he did it was probably very little.....as you can see most of the work was done by "sponsors". The sky is the limit when someone else is paying! Plus he's earns RUclips money, and I'm sure it'll be on dvd and in his new "Milo 2 cookbook" etc...etc....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
It’s well known that roothy isn’t a huge fan of the modern vehicles. The old mechanical machines are reliable and relatively easy to fix, or at least get going if there’s a breakdown. You can’t say that about a 200.
Roothy, putting the weight of the spare wheels in the middle is a great idea, but mate getting them out to swap with a flat looks like heavy work. Do you have some sort of lifting aid or is it just brute strength, or is a lifting aid a work in progress?
What I don't understand is why people, and yourself Mr. Rooth, keep using the american term 'Truck' to describe these vehicles when clearly they're not, or a 'Lorry' by definition, of any sort. Is there a reason behind this? Cheers :-)
That's what it's about , getting out amongst it no matter where it is !
I was standing next to Milo-1 yesterday. She's well worn... She was parked at the motor museum in Adelaide.
I brought an Engel in 89 for my fj45 and it outlasted 3 Waecos! Beautiful trucks mate can't fault them!
Glad to see Milo isn't rotting away in a museum and still getting back on the tracks 👍
GREAT video.
NO rubbish. Fair dinkum. Down to earth.
Thank You.
Love this guy&his trips in good ole milo&now Milo 2&can't forget the cooking yumo
Keep hitting them tracks Roothy, you’re a legend mate. All the very best from a fellow 4WD’er.👍😊👍

Love the work that's gone into both trucks hats off to the crow and toothy your the man
Right on Roothy. Happy for you that you get to outfit a new truck. Love it.
Yeah mate, it was a whole lot of fun and I actually learnt a fair bit on the way. Cheers
Just passed Milo 2 ..what a truck
Carnt wait to see milo restoration
Yeah, but she needed a full chassis and body swap and I figured it's wouldn't be the same truck after that - hence the museum...
Hi Mate.
Thanks for sharing the difference on the Two..!!
Cheers TONY.👍🍺⛏🇦🇺
I'm missing old Milo, but Milo2 is growing on me all the time - she's awesome!
Both awesome trucks! You legend Roothy💪🏻
Would be awesome to have a few rigs to choose from.
Great how you showed the two together.
Keep up the great efforts Roothy.
BCF sell some nice chairs if you're looking for a passenger seat for the handbrake !
Good to see milo 1 back I thought it was going to a museum in SA

Hi roothy love your work form longy
Looks good John, a little concerned about how much flex that tub and roof top tent have, but i guess you know what you are doing, keep it up
Yeah, so far so good but there's nothing like a few thou miles of corrugations to sort out stuff eh?
I love two already John,
Good day from Okotoks Canada, awesome video
I really like the battery switches in milo2
Yeah my mate Richard from SMART Automotive Solutions did a great job on all the electrics in Milo 2.
Beautiful rigs
Would like to know more about that canvas bottle cover next to your seat @ 4.09
Can you put a 350 chevy v-8 in these trucks in austrailia...????
Both go good as roothy
Love them both!
Id love to come over from usa and wheel with ya....your a legend...be safe🤠
On ya mate - c'mon over and play!
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY im going to take ya up on that
Hey Roothy, just wondering what brand was the bullbar on the original Milo? Always thought it looked cool! Cheers
Good stuff. Lucky bugga 👍

Came here for the cattle dog, stayed for the trucks.

Benpatt43 already got the Brown Davis tank and two spares in the gap, perfect weight distribution. Cheers
What about the batteries? is it ok for them to be in water?
How about a run with What's his name in the Amarok?

Mark Harvey yeah mate that's how I have it on Mustard, Milo 2 is evolving rapidly so there will be plenty of changes. Cheers
Advice from the Keyboard experts, I hate myself for even bringing it up. Cheers mate, happy travels and keep the vids coming.
Might be worth routing the snorkel and intake up between cab and rear body. Nicely out the way then

Yes I must admit I felt it was a free truck actually so why not have fun when it is not your money!
Carl Muller Not free mate, probably cost me 20k plus all the help from mates in the industry. Goons be a weapon off-road and a great tourer. Cheers
JOHN ROOTH awesome job champ. Love the old 40’s.
You coming to Tasmania soon?
Would this pass an engineering inspection?
hey john, quick qeustion, where did you get those horns from, and are they electric
G'day mate, they are electric and we got them in a hurry from a boat chandlery, am looking for a better set of metal ones.
Fantastic vid John , when are you coming back to the VHC ?
what moddel and year is milo 2?
Get a break n have a Milo with milk
Cheers John Rooth😁😄

whitedoggarage brute strength mate 😀🍺😀
brute strength - and a little old bloke bouncing know how...
Awesome build on Milo 2 Roothy. What was the reasoning of finishing the build at home in your shed... after starting of the build at OL?
Easier access to get stuff done mate.
What glue do you use to hold the rust together?
ONly thing I have ever used mate, Lanotec :) www.roothy.com.au/products/lanotec-products/
Did milo 1 go back to the long wheel base now?
No mate, still the chop job.
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY gee it looked like it was a long wheel base from where the camera was set up
Legend
There's something really special about milo if it can suck dust through a pressurized intercooler system. wtf
Can't put 2 and 2 together? He was implying boost leaks.
Can't put 2 and 2 together and understand sarcasm or a joke. Sorry i didn't make it more obvious
Ah, cause I was gonna say, you need help...
I definitely need help. lol
Toyota land Cruiser 40 series the best of the best 4×4👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪☝️🎥👍👍👍👋👋👋👋😁😁😁
My ass jeeps are better
Milo 1 Looks better !!😀

Calling them a car would be just wrong, vehicle too vague and saying four wheel drive all the time is a pain in the ****, so TRUCK it is.
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY Cheers for the clarification :-)
Awkward moment when a 4wd ad showed up before the vid :')
