    I'm a regular guy, and this install was pretty easy. I walk through the process in the video and show you how straightforward it was (even as I drilled twice as many holes in my wall as I should have).
    Systems will differ by the home, but the Alexa app walks through everything pretty well. And you can see from my walk through how easy it was for a regular person.
    Just make sure you turn the breaker off. I checked the wires on the first install downstairs with a multimeter and forgot to do that on the video 😅
    Pick up the thermostat from Amazon: amzn.to/3uYJrg5
    It's on sale a lot, but regular price is still a steal.

    Great video but...
    It would be helpful to know which breaker to turn off. I have one labeled hall, bedroom, etc. The thermostat is located in the hall, so I was wondering if that was the correct one. After more research, I discovered that I needed to turn the breaker for HVAC system off. I know...may seem obvious, but I'm not an expert and wanted to be sure.

      Thanks. Yeah, I had to do a trial and error on my breakers to figure out which one was which too.

    My wires are exactly like that but the system blows regular air on the heat setting and hot air on the cooling setting. Any advice?

      hmmm weird, something's crossed somewhere. If it were me, I'd run back through everything to triple check placements and then I'd get a friend who knew more or a handyman to check it out.

    Out of curiosity, how do you take off the thermostat from the wall? Do you just pull?

      Yeah it’s got a plug connection thing that fits real snuggly but you just pull straight off

    Do we need to have a c wire / blue wire it looks like yours worked without ?

    • @EamonnCottrell
      @EamonnCottrell  2 месяца назад

      I had a C wire on my system. They make a version with a C wire adapter if you don't have one: amzn.to/4eHtfSW
      But you'll have to search for your specific system to see if you need that.

    FYI, I had no power to mine. Because I hadn’t put the cover panel back on the heating unit. There’s a safety switch that is pressed when the panel is on.

    How do you get the thermostat to work without an iPhone?

    • @EamonnCottrell
      @EamonnCottrell  2 месяца назад

      I wrote the response from my other channel below, but the info is right --you just need the alexa app on android, fire tablet or apple device. I am pretty sure you can control it like a regular thermostat without setting up through the app, but for any of the smart features you need alexa app

      @@EamonnCottrell - The app is definitely necessary to set it up. Once it's set up, it can be manually operated, like any other thermostat.

      Negative, not a new model at this time just a current review 👍

    You don’t even even talk about where the wires are placed. I get most of the letters are the same but half the time the letters are different and you don’t even even describe about the install not a great video man.

      Yeah because there are so many different wiring configurations and I'm not an electrician, I chose not to try and get into the weeds with the specific wiring. I had to do some googling around to figure out mine and there are some other more in depth videos by professionals that address that in more detail.
