    agreed about the quality of Signature Solar. I had issues with a number of the solar distributors I dealt with. I am busy as hell and when I have a window of time to get stuff done I need to talk to someone, not leave a voicemail and hope they call me back ever, and if they do, for them to call me back in the tiny slivers of time I am available. Wait times were always reasonable. They responded to email. They said on the phone they would do something and after we hung up they would do it. Super impressed with quality customer service. The EG4 stuff I got has also been quality.

    Looking forward to your Gridboss review. Thinking that’s the game changer that will cause inverter selection to be revisited.

    Make a video comparing the EG4 18k and Mango Power M.
    They use similar inverter both hybrid, 18kw PV, 12 kW continuous.
    Main differences between both systems is their battery capacity and warranty. Mango Power M has 10+5 warranty due to battery cells made by CATL.

    Recommended max pv input 21kw, great to boost overcast numbers, last 70 days here, 3 were direct light, had my eye on the 10 or 12kw as a minor upgrade. The EG4 20KW has a recommended max pv input of 28KW, that will be tough to beat by anything short of industrial solar.

    • @justinpaquette3085

      Which one has ever input of 28kw? Haven't seen that one that I remember

    • @bobmonztr
      @bobmonztr 11 дней назад

      @@justinpaquette3085 The EG4 20KW, in the spec sheets for max solar they all have huge pv input, I think the 18kw is actually 21kw max. If you get 10% in overcast I would rather have 2.8kw over 2kw any day. I think it is usable PV for the model #'s. Need 40 panels to fill them up.

    As someone who has a 18Kpv my biggest gripes are 1) The manual and explanation of the settings for the inverter just sucks and many times you will find that the setting do not match actual function. 2) If you dont use EG4 batteries do not expect any kind of support from EG4 with battery related issues (settings), again settings are not intuitively named and used as well as the fact that things one would think would just work do not without the full duplex communication with EG4 batteries. In my case I have 5- 15kwh diy batteries using JK BMS modules. But in order to get the batteries to fully charge you have to use "Lead Acid" battery settings in the inverter as well as force the use of "Off-Grid" mode to prevent the inverter from clipping charging output to the batteries.
    Once I was able to overcome these issues thanks to various online forums and personal settings testing the unit does work well, but again unless you have a higher level of knowledge you are pretty pigeon holed into using EG4 batteries .

    Signature solar is a good company but they are also the sister company of EG4 which will always make them bias to sell EG4 first. It’s also why they will have the best pricing for EG4.

    No transformerless inverter is a good choice because without any galvanic isolation, it can turn your appliances into toast when its MOSFETs or IGBTs fail.
