My dì ba lives there! I can't wait to see what you get up to there
As a viet kieu you should be paying for everything, right? 😂
You’re so right, Kyle. You sure can sing well. Your voice is phenomenal! Even better than Đam Vĩnh Hưng.
Wonderful, Kyle, wonderful !
As you grow older the sense of family kicks in, something that you never experience in your youth or early adult life.
In the earlier days, you liked to go it alone, feeling invincible, not needing anyone. But it changes in later life.
There are many lonely people out there Kyle, wishing they had someone to have a drink with, to talk softly over a cup of tea or coffee, or someone to share a meal with.
Cherish every moment of this, keep in touch, give a call, drop a line, send a photo. Even animals like companionship.
You may be Buddhist, but the Bible says when God made Adam " He saw it was not good for the man to be alone, so he made a helper.....a complement for him....Eve". That is the start of family.
Thanks for this video again Kyle. Thanks for the wonderful food too.
Make up your mind where you are heading to. Lost time cannot be recovered and so must be used wisely. As you age, it runs out faster, I tell you ! Enjoy it !

I appreciate your viewership Ramish.
I can relate to this so much, I’m half Taiwanese and Vietnamese living in Australia with only family. All our relatives are in Taiwan and Vietnam so we only see them a few weeks every few years and also feel like the disconnect in cultures but at the same time when we’re back it still feel like one big family on both side even though I’m closer to my Taiwan relatives ~
Thank you for sharing Alan.
Bringing families closer 🙏
I really loved watching this series with you and Chau! I am not Vietnamese but I love Vietnam. I am currently holidaying here for another week and watching your videos has given me a greater appreciation of Vietnam and it's beautiful people. Wishing you and Chau a safe journey, wherever it maybe.
Love these series with Chau!
This video gives misty eyes. Family time in Vietnam like this is a huge part of our lives that went missing during the pandemic. Your trip to Vietnam this time actually motivated me to book my trip for February. Thanks Kyle
Good to hear that and have fun!
Thank you Kyle! I'm a young Vietnamese studying abroad and working hard with hopes for a better future and to help my family. I've lived abroad most my life so I feel a similar disconnect to my extended family, but just like you, I love family gatherings where the atmosphere is so lively and warm. Your videos are heart-warming and relatable, thanks for the content!
Family time is the best time. I came from a very large extended Family , but my wife didn't and she always says how lucky I am and considers herself lucky to be thought of as family in all of mine. I thought it was so beautiful that you have included your driver and obviously your friend Minh in you family get together. You have a good heart my friend.
Family is always a complicated affair in VN. People assume it's a great vacation/leisurely travel experience for Viet Kieu, but it's so much more than that. When you're there, you're trying to make up for lost time and feeling guilty for one reason or another - but being together is always indescribably good. Great vlog!
I used to feel very very guilty, but as time and the country have progressed, at least with my family, my cousins have better lives than their sisters in America who don't get to take vacations and they barely get to see each other. I mean, I haven't been able to do a trip like this with my cousins in America and there's a lot less of us. Thanks for watching the video and for the comment.
🙏🙏🙏 really love the perspective you gave on the different upbringings. I like how neutral and insightful that was and wish more people understood and adapted that!
very good video this time Kyle. it brings so much nostalgia from your past videos way back to the time that you were in Vietnam long ago. the way you put your own narrative in the video makes it unique.
I mean all of your vids are great, that's why lots of ppl have been supporting you, but this is one of the best.
Hope more to come, cheers mate!
Thank you Khoi.
You out did yourself on this video. Awesome. Thank you for sharing the sights and sounds on your family trip.
Im glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for checking it out and coming along with us.
Love your narration man...and the honesty/insight on your take of the experience. Beautiful!
Can't wait to see your next video Kyle! Thanks for sharing
@4:46 you say families are complicated. Yours is and can honestly say we all have complicated families especially when they are big.
Appreciate your openness in this video and sharing your family.
Another awesome video! Thanks Kyle!
Family time together are very rare indeed and they are special when you are able to get time away from each others busy life to reconnect.
This video makes me happy. Like a calm happy inner happiness. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. 😊😊😊 sending love to you and yours from Orlando, Florida, USA
Video looks great, Kyle! I like that you shoot in 24p. Congratulations on spending time with your family, we can see it means so much to you.
Hi Kyle, the things you said about family in this video were very relatable to me. I often feel seperated from my family by "an ocean" as well. Great upload, thanks!
Thanks for watching, Joshua. I'm glad it could relate to you. I'm sure I wasn't the only who who felt this way about the complications of having family far away.
Family is everything!! Looks like you been eating good...
Thank you Kyle for allowing us to live thru you and Chau. As a Vietnamese American who has only visited VN once decades ago, you bring a vibrant and exciting VN that I would have never imagined existed. One day I will return knowing these locations, ppl, food, etc exists all because of you. Cam on my brother!
I hope you can return soon. Take care and thank you for watching.
Being able to get away with your family like this is simply just the best, I envy you, Kyle, because my family is small and we’re always too busy!
What a beautiful heartfelt and funny video. Thanks for all your hard work!
Thank you for watching and for the comment
Thanks Kyle such a marvelous video a gathering of family taxi driver, everybody I mean I could just see the ambience. Such a beautiful marvelous time you guys had yeah at the end of the day Kyle we miss you too in Vietnam. Love you bro thanks again.
Excellent video Kyle..! Here's to more such family gathering in the future. I've been very behind watching RUclips videos, especially those that I've subscribed from the early 2020 like yr channel. I've never been to Vietnam, although it's not that far from Malaysia.. One day, hopefully soon. You are a great ambassador for Vietnam, its people & culture & its food! 😍
I love this video the most. I enjoy watching you and your family's time together. GREAT CONTENT as always..peace!
Thanks so much checking it out
Born and raised from California now living in Wisconsin.. been almost 11years since I went back to where I was raised! Enjoy 2023 bortha
Cant wait 2 see ur next vid. Keep them coming👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏🙏💝💝💝
The food looks incredible!! I was in Saigon at the beginning of 2018. This city is definitely going to be a destination. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching and for the comment.
Stumbled upon your video. Great content Kyle, thanks for sharing your experience. I am about to embark on a 2.5 month "Xuyen Viet" and I can't wait to start the journey and experiences. My hometown is Vung Tau and watching your video that inspires me to try out these places.
Chau is a great videographer
A great idea to have a family get-together in such a lovely place. It's hard to imagine they can sell all of the seafood available in the fish markets. I would love to attend a sea food feast. We used to have family gatherings in New Hampshire in the summers. So many fond memories. I hope you get to have a few more before everyone goes separate ways.
Thank you for the consistent videos! They truly brighten up my day.
Thank your for watching!
16:09 BRUHHHH!!! You got me rolling on the floor. I couldn't believe my ears, I had to listened to it twice. 🤣🤣 Love you so much Kyle, you are the best travel blogger I know on YT.
Family meal looks delicious. Hope family understands each other .
Thank you for watching!
She is so magical
Vung Tau at 2 am.
As a univerisity student in my home country and almost an anti-foodie (I can eat the same thing every evening), I never understood the need for ethnic food. Until I had a power adapter blow out at 2 am in the morning (POW!), got a bout of insomnia and walked out on the main street at 2 am in the morning for "western" breakfast cereal and milk!
we are two different people but we are so alike in very very many ways kyle. nothing beats having family all under one roof.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. I hope to one day even have more family under one roof. We're still missing a few people here, but maybe in the next few years, but it'll be hard because some of these family members might move abroad.
Love singing Kyle!
You are right man. Family is always number 1.
I miss my family in bien hoa so much right now. I am waiting for the day we are all together in vietnam.
My family last big family trip was also to Vung Tao, and I just recently got back to Vietnam (5 days here so far). Being raised as a viet kieu I 100000% agree with you. Good job, Kyle if your ever around Cho Tan Dinh hit me up, my family serves breakfast
Best singer ever! ♥
chau is so cute bro. Irresistible.
I did this same thing last November rented a villa fat house pool went seafood shopping cooked went to the beach family and all booked a private bus from sgn good times
Family time always a good time 😀😃
Hey Kyle, thank you for making a video on Vung Tau. I just came back from there a few months ago and I missed home already.
Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing. I miss Vietnam too!
Good one, Kyle. I envy you because you can have time with your family.
Thanks Tim. It was a great experience years in the making, but who knows when we can do it again...
My relatives live in Vung Tau & of course that’s the city of Banh Khot. I check out some air bnb & it’s awesome there, lots of hotel in Vung Tau r modern now. Enjoy your stay & eat all of the fresh seafood there bro 👌🏻
Really liked you’re videos keep it up
I like your name bro!
Just want to say "thanks" for sharing these family vlogs. My wife's family are all based in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai and after watching she's homesick. Safe travels Kyle and wishing you, Chau and your family good health and happiness. Any chances of Chau visiting Orange County?
Thank you and your wife for watching and for the kind comments. As far as Chau visiting OC... you're going to have to stay tuned for that.
I move to the states at 8 years of age. Ever since then, I lost connection and relationships with my family from Vietnam. My family from Vietnam assume that ever since we moved to the US, our life have become perfect with lots of money. The fact is that we struggle as immigrants and work our ass off to build a stable life in the US. The irony is that my family in Vietnam is probably more well off then us in the states. After watching your video, I miss that family connection and interaction I once had.
Thanks for sharing. Like I said in the video, it's very difficult to understand each other unless you walk in their shoes and experience their lives. I try not to focus on that so much with my relatives and just spend time with them getting to know them better whenever I get the chance. If you miss it, consider one day visiting them and inviting them somewhere. Maybe that connection will rekindle. Thanks for watching and for sharing your story.
Yes they think everyone in the US is rich but we have to deal wtih gangs and bullied.
Vung tau got over crowded and worst during a holiday. My family lives there and locals never go out on weekends or holidays , missed it
Family ❤
Wow dude, Thay Banh Khot....co nuoc mieng qua troi!!!

@@kyleledotnet I'm missing some street food
I remembered xuan the American girl sang to that Quang le song. 7:12.
Wow great memory
Xuan's version was better!
Big difference between Viets and Americans: Americans would maybe cook once at the villa. But Viet families will fully occupy and take advantage of seafood offerings. For Viets, the luxury comes in having staff that will clean up before, after, and even in the middle. The cooking is not a chore.
Hahaha!! That part where the Vietnam markets turn into a New York street 🤣
I went to Vung Tau last time I visited VN. I had the best Cơm tấm there
Nice. thanks for sharing and thanks for watching this video.
Wow so cool 👍👌❤️🇻🇳
Wow very good
Wonderful video, which kinda hits different for people with similar family stories, I think.
I am in my 30s now and my parents are boat people from the 70s and I was born in germany as the youngest of the family. I always felt some kind of disconnection between even my siblings, which were born in south Vietnam. I have a shitton of cousins in Saigon and I can and probably will never be able to connect with them in a proper way. Everytime I am able to visit them I am just the weird viet kieu cousin which only speaks funny "old" vietnamese taught by his parents which kind of lived in a time bubbled Vietnam 40+ years ago, at least in their minds/memories. The way of living and thinking is totally different.
As you said, some of my cousins do even better than my relatives in germany or america in terms of family connection/bond, because they are too busy for it. The set value of it is not the same as for many viet kieu in europe/america I know. I am in Vietnam right now and will go back in a few days, being able to spend some weeks here after the whole covid situation feels great.
Also thanks for your videos! I have been watching them for years and just recently started to watch your channel again with my new account. Keep it up! I am looking forward for new videos.

In which year did you go to the US then, Kyle? My grandparents (maternal side) have settled in CA since they left VN in 1994 under the policy called HO which was meant for army veterans. Long story short, my grandfather worked as a translator and police officer in the US army before 1975 and he was my first English teacher when he was still in Vietnam. I was about 6 in 1994 when my grandparent left for the US. Unfortunately, my family was left in Vietnam because the HO policy did not cover children who had their own families, that's why my family couldn't go. Just 2 uncles and 1 aunt were allowed to go with my grandparents because they were still single then. Fast forward to 2005, my grandparents had their first trip back to VN - that's 10 years since they left. As for life in VN in the 90s, it was with lots of struggles, I believe you can tell too. VN economy did not take off until 2000 when more families could get themselves TVs, and motorbikes (mostly Honda). It came as no surprise that my family did not have access to electricity until 2001. Telling you all this is like taking a trip down memory lane. I miss those hard but beautiful times because it's part of my childhood, my formative years. I can relate so much to all the family content videos you've made. Thanks for the video, Kyle. I am happy that you are finding your way back to your family root here in VN. God bless you and have a nice day. Trong

Xin ciao Kyle, thanks for sharing this lovely family holidays❤
I also will go back to Vietnam After 5 years to see my family living in a village near My Tho. I want to bring them to Vung Tau somedays and also rent a villa like you did with your family, it would be my first holidays in family in Vietnam !!
I don't have any Idea about the villa's Price and i don' t speak vietnamese... Can you explain me how to do to rent a villa in Vung Tau ?
You can try air b n b but there might be a lot of scams on there. I almost fell for one. But the website and phone number of the person I used is in the description of the video.
@@kyleledotnet thanks for your answer, sorry i didn't see the link in the description 🤦🤣, i go to see it. Thanks you Kyle, Hope you are fine
Even Vietnamese people from Saigon get ripped off at the markets in Vung Tau
Little Easter Egg karaoke song choice by Kyle for the long time viewers. I wonder how she's doing nowadays.
Good catch. Xuan is doing fine now and hopefully one day we can revisit
It was all about the food LOL

Great clip bro! but please don't sing in Vietnamese you are killing me bro lol!!!
What was up with this 7:12 bro 😂?
assimilation: if you want to really be Vietnamese, you must learn at least 3 to 5 karaoke songs. you never know when they'll be handy.
What’s Chaus onlyfans
I understand your warning about keeping your belongings safe, but I think it comes down to common sense which is not common!!
I've personally have never had any issues but I have witnessed a tourist getting his camera snatched from his hands near Hoan Kiem Lake years ago. Better than be safe than sorry, especially with wallets in the back pocket.
@@kyleledotnet I completely agree.
I was in Vietnam 2 months ago. 4th time there, first time solo.
Never did I have an issue or any attempts of theft.
@@kyleledotnet I love your karaoke by the way!
