I'm sorry about the lack of releases the last week(s). I will try my best to release more in December to wrap up this Vietnam series. Please give this video a thumbs up, leave me a comment if you enjoyed it. This edit took a really long time and I am very happy to bring this sort of content to you. Come back soon for a new video from my hometown of Bien Hoa.
I left Germany 20 years ago. I lived 2.5 years in the US and then for 17 years in Cyprus (East-Mediterranean). Last year I moved to a village 15 km away from Bac Giang and I loved to be there. Currently I am staying in the Hai Duong province but I will return asap to the Bac Giang area. Although I lived for most of my life in bigger cities, nowadays the size of Bac Giang city just feels right for me. And if you travel a bit north (toward the Chinese border), the countryside is sparsely populated with lots of forests, lakes etc. Quite nice!
I'm kinda hoping that Kyle * AND * Chau show would be a regular thing ... Chau's idiosyncrasies are cute and complement Kyle. And I think it would help to grow the channel!!!
I love how you’re always wanting to support all the locals even buying things you don’t need lol. Love your great storytelling and great editing skills.
Ugh I miss Vietnam so much. I was adopted from Saigon and have only been able to go back once. It was my favorite vacation to date and can't wait to go back
For a small nation, Vietnam's provinces and regions all have their own unique culture and history. That in itself makes it a great and amazing journey.
I know you said you weren't planning on making this video but it was fantastic. My wife and I were just in Vietnam for 3 weeks last month this is one place I definitely would have liked to have seen if I had known. I do like the non touristy places much better than touristy places. To me it gives me a much better sense of what it's Vietnam is really like. It seems more real.
Thank you Robert. If the manager didn't approach me, I wouldn't have made a video about Bac Giang because I needed the downtime to edit and to rest. We traveled nonstop since and this was a natural break in the journey. But I am glad he came over and spoke to me because that's when I realized there was much more to Bac Giang than I thought.
These videos have been awesome. If you leave VN for 5 years, when you come back you can't appreciate how quickly things are changing for the better. VN strength is its people. The children are so free and loose and living a life that was not available to their parents and grandparents. I just hope they continue on the path they are on for a better and more successful VN. World Bank: Infant mortality rates fell from 32.6 per 1,000 live births in 1993 to 16.7 in 2020. Life expectancy rose from 70.5 to 75.5 years between 1990 and 2020. Vietnam's universal health coverage index is at 73-higher than regional and global averages-with 87 percent of the population covered.
Visiting the old village must have given you a sense of belonging Kyle. I can imagine the population density there ! I can never tire of these videos of Vietnam. Keep enjoying your visit. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
Love the sense of humor always! Ice is expensive!!! Hehe.😂 I am Vietnamese (Sai Gon) and understand your Vietnamese, starting to understand Chau’s Vietnamese better too! 😂😊
I know the hotel manager. I used to be in the same camp with him in Hong Kong. I recall that he was a good soccer player. I am in the u.s now. What a small world
Amazing Kyle, thank you so much for showcasing my home town of Bac Giang, you have taught me new things about this town, definitely going to visit the ancient town 😊
I just discovered that you are making videos about Vietnam again. I can't tell how happy I am that you are doing it again Vietnam. So, so , sooooooooooooo happy! I was born in Saigon 59 years ago. I left Vietnam in 1983, settled in the USA, first in Oregon, then in Texas 20+ years ago. I am now a practicing physician. I have not come back to Vietnam yet, due to some psychological scars during the 8 years living under communism in Vietnam. Missing in the land of my ancestors, of my identity. I have "visiting" Vietnam through videos like yours (which are the best of its kind). I am healing inside. I have begun contemplating coming back visiting. Until that day, many, many thanks for your videos!
Great video, amazing view, delicious food and interesting explanation. I like food Vietnam is Goi Cuon, Pho, Banh Mi, Banh Xeo, Cha Ca, Xoi, Com Tam, Bhan Kot, Chao Lao, Com Rang, Bun, Cha Pe, Pho Ga, Ngheu Hap Sa, Ca Kho To & Mi Quang. I like tourist place in Vietnam is Ha Long, Hoan Kiem, Nha Trang, Ban Gioc, Sa Pa, Phong Na, Cat Ba, Datanla, Con Dao, Da Nang, Fansipan, Bach Ma, Ba Be, Ky Co, Ba Vi, Trang An and Son Tra. I not Vietnam people but I know about food & nice places in Vietnam country. How can I find out? Because I visited but remembered what was there. Try just ask a Vietnam person, is it true that what I mentioned is in about Vietnam? Surely they know. Vietnam for me score 9.0/10. Greetings and stay healthy for you all.
A friend of mine a 5 star hotel manager in Australia, I got upgrade to a penthouse for free and 30% discount . The manager cant upgrade the room for you and free buffet?, he can ask his porter to carry your bags to a new room. A whole bunch of crooks and crim.... in Viet nam, if they see you got beautipful girlfriend , all the guys try to be friend with you and come up with all kind of story, I met you there, I saw here etc. The family even invite you to their home when you walk along the street. that what happen to me. i didnt know back then.
I think you just had some bad experiences, this has never happened to me about people inviting me to their homes. The manager wanted to upgrade me but I said no. I have been traveling for weeks unpacking and packing every few days. I didn't want to do it again. The porter is not going to pack my things for me. I liked my chair. I didn't need anything better. The hotel breakfast was free and included in the price of the stay. I didn't want a free stay because then I would be obligated to do a "review" style video. This is not what I wanted to do. This was just a tour to see some nicer hotel options in Vietnam as some viewers have asked me to show more hotels.
I love the village. One thing I've realized from watching a lot of rural footage is, although I've seen temples and palaces, I don't really have a good sense of what a traditional/old-style Vietnamese private house is. Much of what I see in this old village still seems to be made of concrete. Or is some other material being used? A video about Vietnamese homes and the culture around them might be interesting.
Vietnamese tranditional/old-style private house varies from urban to rural, North - Middle - South. I live in the North (Hanoi); you can check out these search: ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=nh%C3%A0+c%E1%BB%95+mi%E1%BB%81n+b%E1%BA%AFc South (English): ruclips.net/video/I232fRPJFOg/видео.html The Middle of Vietnam often receive heavy storms/ floods yearly so people don't really build solid house from my understanding, best place you can find is in Hoi An, which has plenty of video on RUclips
I'm sorry Kyle, but I'm in love with your gf. She's cute. I also love how you speak both vietnamese and english with so much sophistication. I can't do that even with one language : /
Kyle! you must becareful eating turtle meats, my brother in law passed away eating turtle meat and blood. Becaureful bro, there weird bacteria in the Turtle
They invited me but I rather give her her privacy with her family and not bother them or displace them. I don't even stay in my own relatives house for that reason. Plus, I needed to edit videos.
@@KP-xi4bj Relatives in Bien Hoa...I never advise anyone to stay with relatives in Vietnam unless they have a spare bedroom/bathroom and air conditioning and even so, your presence will mean that they will have to attend to you and open the door, you have restrictions on curfew coming in and out- simply because you don't want to bother them, everyone sleeps at different times-they might have to stay up for you. I prefer to have privacy and to visit for a few hours. None of my relatives have spare bedrooms, so staying with them would mean someone would be kicked out of their room and sharing bathrooms, etc etc.

I love vietnam more and more. To me , ancient towns always have some mysterious chilling pace. Great video about our country brother
Lovely video. Chau is radiant and funny; the old town looks very interesting indeed. Would love to visit sometime.

The Manager s story is amazing, the old village so peaceful, loves to visit Bac Giang soon
Thanks for the helpfull vlog .

Yes, there's so much in Vietnam that most people haven't visited yet.
Vietnam is not a small nation, its population is even larger than Germany. Most ppl think that it is small because it lies near China, a giant guy:)))
Cháu looks good in this video. This is a typical small town in VN. Relaxing life for the locals. That’s what it’s all about.
This video is awesome, Kyle. Thank you and Chau for showing us Bac Giang and its people.
Thanks Kyle, Bac Giang will be my next destination.

Thanks to Chau... not me hahaahaahhaa.

Thank you to my mom and dad and Bao Cong.

I think she just wanted to meet Viet, haha.

Thank you Sean.
Wow i didn't know amything about bac giang and now i am impressed. I might visit there next time to check it out in person.
Only if you're in the area already. I don't recommend just going there unless you've been everywhere else.
damn Kyle - as the amount of "foreign" vloggers in VN climb, I'm so glad you're still doing it - no one matches your finds
Thank you, enjoy this limited run series while it lasts! We are down to the final stretch of videos.

I was gone for 50 years, 1970 through 2020. The only thing unchanged is the heat and humidity.
