    Pastry chef here..
    To remove the chocolate from the mold, simply have a bowl of hot water nesrby , and place the mold into yhe water for s moment , not too long and not deep enough that the water touches the chocolate
    This quick exposure to heat should be enough to soften and loosen the chocolate and then the mold should slide right off !

    Edit 1: so glad u change the title!!
    Edit 2: Ok so I feel like this has to be typed, I couldn’t care less if you think it’s a fail. But don’t be rude to other people who don’t think it’s a fail. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it at all” I respect your opinion, so please respect mine.
    Edit 3: ok I feel like this needs to be established, you’re not being rude to me, you’re being rude to the creator. She is a mom, that’s the one of the hardest jobs. By saying she “fAiLeD”, you’re adding another thing to her stress pile. So next time you speak, ask yourself, does this do anything productive and give the creator feedback, or is this just being negative for no reason.

  • @littlefurnace
    @littlefurnace Год назад +878

    I am a chocolatier, so, hot tip: When you make hollows with pinch points like this, leave the liquid chocolate in the mold for a little bit longer before turning out again. The chocolate will set slightly more, meaning not as much will pour back out, making the walls thicker and stronger.
    Then, ditch the silicone molds. Rigid molds will give a better finish and will demold much easier, as chocolate contracts when it sets; it will pull away from a rigid mold and just fall out, whereas silicone will flex with it. (I know that isn't ideal though, silicone molds are way easier to get, but it's worth it if you have the chance).
    Melting and sticking it back won't work because the chocolate is untempered and therefore weaker. Even if you use tempered chocolate though, it would be separate from the rest of the crystalline structure of the piece, so also very weak. Best solution, melt the whole thing and start over.
    If you absolutely must melt and stick, don't use a naked flame. Put some parchment paper on a low temp ceramic hob or flat griddle, and hold the joining surfaces of both parts down onto it for one or two seconds, so they melt flat to make even surfaces.
    To be clear, you're doing an amazing job! Just got unlucky this time 🤎

    Instead of pouring the chocolate into the mold and then pouring it back out, take a silicon brush and dip it into the melted chocolate. Then spread it around into the mold and freeze it. Do that 2 or 3 times and then pop the hard chocolate out of the mold. Sometimes it does break though but you just have to be patient with it :)

    Technically you didn’t fail at making chocolate you just didn’t make the mold right. But the fact that you actually made the chocolate and got one mold is great

  • @pinkpupbutt9299
    @pinkpupbutt9299 4 месяца назад

    Next time take the time to let the chocolate set in the mold, swirl it around slowly to make it thick on weaker spots before you pour any extra chocolate out, use a warm plate to melt the edges of the chocolate to connect the pieces or fix any broken edges. You got this!

  • @HippieVelez

    If you want to melt the chocolate to make two parts stick together, you just have to heat a casserole, turn it upside down so the hot bottom is up, and press the edges of the chocolate piece against it :) never use fire directly on chocolate it’s a very difficult matter to work with but it’s fascinating

    Next time if something breaks i find its easiest to melt the broken edge a little against a hot pan. This is a lot easier than using a lighter because it easily distributes heat to the whole edge instead of the one part that the lighter is touching. Hope this helps anyone who comes across this comment!

    After the chocolate dries or sets in the mold, try pouring a second layer of chocolate and let it dry. That way it will have double the thickness and not break when removing from the mold. You're just gonna have to hit a little harder with the mallet to smash it.
