I'm from the Netherlands and once had a run with Nageeye through Rotterdam years ago. His PB was "only" 2:06:18 at that moment. Great to follow the progress he made during the last 5 years!
nyc goes on into the night. in 2017,i went back(finish line in cntrl prk) after 7pm after i had finished hrs earlier. nyrr gives out flashing lights and you cheer on all the runners still coming in,so fun
Abdi Nageeye 🥇. Despite his elite status and option to train in many higher-tier swoosh shoes, the man still opts to run on the humble Pegasus on some of his training sessions. 👍
Was just announced that The Sydney Marathon will become the 7th World Marathon Major (Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York & now Sydney) from 31 Aug '25 beating out Cape Town & Shanghai in the process. After her OLY Gold (Marathon), Bronze (5K) & Bronze (10K) in Paris plus 4th place in the Tokyo Marathon earlier in the yr, very curious as to what the '25 season looks like for a 32yr old Sifan Hassan i.e. more or less focus on the track seeing as she's won 3 of her first 4 Marathons while still winning medals on the track at the same time?!
Thanks for the coverage. I never enjoyed running NYC (too crowded; I preferred smaller lower-key marathons), but as a spectator it's a treat to see a hillier course without rampant pacing...more conducive to real competition and drama IMO.
It wasn’t a huge surprise Obiri didn’t have the final kick. She ran a very tough Olympic marathon only 12 weeks ago and this was her third marathon in only seven months. She said afterward she was delighted with her performance.
@@LuisMunoz-qg5ul He was born in Somalia, yes. Since he was 7 years old he has lived in the Netherlands and has had the Dutch nationality. So not a Somalian runner "switching" nationalities, just a kid immigrating with his parents ...
To me I'd say, who cares unless I'm there doing it myself. Yes It'd be for fun, or to just do it; but running is degenerative af, I try to avoid too much long distance now, enjoy your downtime or lost mass afterward etc.. If I'm not on some mission I don't see a point much. The only important thing here is like if some random runner is scouted in one of these that like 'breaks a record' or 'should be in the olympics' kind of like how Femke Bol was spotted in Japan or whatever happened there.
@@tellitronellis9202 Grow up you absolute baby 🤣 Shall we go though your entire comment history online and see if you’ve ever raised a point. If he’s talking about 5k distance it makes sense to nearly all the world to talk in minutes per km. I’d have no problem with him talking in miles if he was talking about mile splits. But mixing units is confusing…especially when many countries have a different definition of a mile (my Norwegian father in law insists a mile is 10km).
Probably the best Total Running Productions video I've watched. Need this highlight format for every marathon!🤌🏻(Also great not putting the winner in the title/thumbnail or intro). Keep em coming!
Hey man I think your km times are wrong for the race 2.01 per km ( that's world record 800m pace ) is faster than the 1k record ( eliud 1hour59 was ran at 2min51 per km) at 8:27 and other times in the video
This race just continues to show us how much the new women’s WR is dirty. The top men continue to be consistently close to the 2:05 range yet none of these women were even close to a 2:14.
You can’t compare a race with a rolling hill profile, such as NYC, with pancake flat courses like Chicago. Races like NYC or Boston are run slower by default. You’ll never see any world record on those courses lol
@ Sure the course will be slower than races like Berlin. But if you compare the time difference and consistent across the field there is something suspicious to say about that WR. In a flat course most lead men are running around 2:03 so there was only a 3-4 minute difference between here and Berlin/Chicago

I have an interesting question. Do you think that Bolt’s legendary-ness makes people fear doing for his records? I don’t think anyone currently can break any of them but I feel like just how he’s thought about could hold people back from pushing for them
I am crying man.... I finally ran a SUB-3 😭 2:57 man that was the race of a lifetime wow! definitely toughest course IMO... 5th av incline man omfg.

"Alright, everyone," 😊. You know its about to go down.
2 first time marathon major champions We love to see it!
Ran the marathon today , came back home and there is already a video on it 😅
Who was faster? The Kenyans or Total Running Productions posting the video after the marathon?

Why are you telling us the km splits in mins per mile? Please be consistent with your units! (Ideally, just accept that metric is king).
He had per km splits up there too. For most Americans it’s easier to visualize the pace, even for 5k, in minutes per mile
Quit whining. Make your own videos if you don't like how he presents them. I swear, there's no end of complainers in this world.
Metric isn’t king in New York
