@@ceu160193 with so many versions of vampire stories out there the non slivered mirror showing a reflection was a modern update to explain why a vampire nowadays has a reflection but it's a rarely used trope. Anybody can make up rules for mythical creatures. (Twilight vamps can walk in the sun!) But the original reason was they had no soul. It's been followed by most vampire stories.

Dude it is super strange to watch Chinese television from the 80s vs now. The people look completely different. 80s Chinese, both North and South, look like normal people. In the late 00s, mainlanders started looking like ghosts with whiter skin than Europeans. Northern Chinese lost their dark skin and southerners turned ghastly pale.

China actually got White beauty standards from European tribes (particularly Celtic) who went there thousands of years ago.
Chinese nobility were said to be part European.

Being a guy and getting tricked by these filters could surely feel bad, but I can't even begin to imagine what these filters are doing to the psyche of the girls who are using them on a daily basis.
Those women exist with and without the era of filter apps. A lot of those corset pictures from the Victorian era were painted over to make their waist appear smaller. The average person knows they don’t look like their filtered photos and they don’t care, and will keep using it.
