Growing up in Seattle during the 80s I was lucky enough to see Randy Johnson turn from aa wild pitch throwing fast ball GO pitcher, to throwing some of the most disgusting sliders I think baseball has ever seen. There were just some really fun pitchers to watch here; Kazuhiro Sasaki, Jamie Moyer, Felix Hernandez, Freddie Garcia was just all around fun to watch. Some of my favorite baseball memories are Batters flinching at the plate when Randy Johnson painted the inside corner at around 2,000 mph. Good times.

Sergio Romo has the best slider ever. I've never seen a pitcher completely break down almost every single hitter they faced. It was so nasty that allowed him to close out the WS on a fastball right down the middle to catch Prime Miggy looking because he simply couldn't pick up the slider. He managed to remove the common spin pattern that players rely on identifying when deciding on to swing or not.

Like most, I played baseball in Little League and later on a sponsored, adult tournament softball team. As a catcher, I was always fascinated with the various MLB pitches and how much movement a good pitcher could get on the ball. Well, I finally got the chance to try to hit a 90+ mph fastball, from a SEC college pitcher, headed to the draft. He gave me a bat and threw several “slower”, so I could watch and get the “timing’. I then decided I was ready. After all, I could launch a softball ! He threw the first fastball and I started the swing, just as the catcher was throwing it back. He then let me know it was a very restricted pitch, around 70mph or so. Really ?? So, after watching the blur of several of those, I announced I was ready for the HEAT ! Well, he sent the heat. First one was 92 mph., holy SH*T !! I could NOT believe it ! All I saw was a streak ! After a couple of those, the gun then showed a couple at 94 + mph and one I’m convinced hit mach 1. ! It scared the hell out of me and I’ll admit it to anyone ! He then showed me a curve ball and something else. I’m still not sure why I even picked a bat. I shook the pitcher and catcher’s hand and thanked them for letting me experience the humiliation and the true appreciation of this. I’ve never looked at a pro pitcher or batter, the same since. These guys are true weapons, with amazing timing, explosive energy and speed. Any of you that have this skill, have my true respect. And any loudmouth that spouts “hold my beer, I can throw one that fast”, OR “I could hit that”, I quickly say BULL SH*T, I’ve tried it !! 😁

Pressure, Fun and Passion mix together is the best feeling u can get at everything u do, thats why if they have so many experience in catching different kinds of Pitch, Its just a total "Fun"
gotta remind ya, they are calling the Pitches and making signals so pretty big pressure...

My brother was the closer in high school behind Bruce Ruffin for the starter. My brother threw crazy breaking balls like this. He was a lefty and could put a curveball into the top of a 5 gallon bucket on top of the plate.

Goes for everything that we do well.... Always gets ignored by the mainstream media. The fourth largest City in America and I would bet 70% people here don't even know that. I mean it took them to win the damn championship for anyone to give a damn about us. Obviously it was short lived
