  • Sophie Mott, RSPB Carbon Farming Project Manager explains the new agroforestry trial at Hope Farm in Cambridgeshire, where over 1000 trees have been planted into 6m alleys in an 11 hectare field. The alleys are separated by 24m of arable cropping. They have planted a mixture of native broad leaves for wind protection, and apple and cobnut trees for production, and have a long-term monitoring plan in place to look at how this system works for the farm practically and economically, and for the wildlife and carbon sequestration.
