In tropical regions there is a lot of experience with agroforestry. Unfortunately that knowledge and experience is almost completely lost in Western Europe (I’m from Holland).
Agroforestry had to be re-invented and now we stand for the monumental task of moving from monocultures to more biodiverse and sustainable solutions.
Martin Crawford from the UK is our guru and hopefully there will be guru’s all over the world sharing the same wisdom.

Yes.. short, medium and long term crops together!!
Actually it’s more about combining high, medium and low growing plants to minimize competition and maximise beneficial interactions. Also below the ground there should be deep rooting plants taking minerals from many meters deep (like Comfrey).
The key is combining many species (more than 100) of plants, attracting many insects and mimicking a young forest in which not all, but most plants are edible or of other use for humans.

In some other video he has spoken about that also, canals are temporary solutions time being we can make, but long term rivers are must he told
Santhosh V I know bro, canals are for those areas where water can't reach by rivers, we don't have any option than to go for paddy or other commercial crops, bcs if we choose for agroforestry or organic forming the health of soil shall be rich and they need much water unseasonably.Somebody has to find solution for agriculture where rivers are not flowing
