When I turned 50 (back in 2008!) my 2 younger, VERY successful brothers took me to dinner at the Cincy Jeff Ruby's, was a truly wonderful experience! You're SO right about the bread! They put as much care into their bread as they do everything else. Could never afford to eat there on my own, but what a great memory!
I would highly recommend Repeal Steakhouse; their food is incredible! The New York Strip was probably the best steak I've ever had. Señora Arepas is another great spot...the empanadas are ridiculously good!
this used to be a good safe place - now ? far from it - I had to get out of it and back to the country - The law and the people out here do not put up with the dumb shit they let those people get away with over there - just wait and you will understand what I am saying - Hell , even WallMart drug up - in what used to be a predominant blue collar middle class neighborhood - it now is a safehaven for sex offenders and petty thieves
If you’re looking for authentic tacos (the ones that don’t involve sour cream) I’d advise against Taco Luchado (they don’t even chop their proteins properly) but of course some will like it. Wish there was a different word for those type of tacos. Maybe taykos? It’s like Tex-mex vs Mexican food. But ANYWAY…. Elote kah-ye-heh-rro I’ve been enjoying binge watching your videos. The good thing about Louisville’s food is that everyone has an opinion and that means there are so many good choices to be had.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your feedback! the Elote corn is so hard to pronounce, so thanks for the help with that one!! :). If not Taco Luchador, where do you recommend for tacos in Louisville?
Great questions! 1. It was Impellizzeri's, but I'm afraid it may be closed. The Post isn't too far from downtown. 2. The Hot Brown is a famous Louisville sandwich. They serve them various places, but it started at the Brown Hotel.
@@katieskeen Thank you for your reply. - Impellizzeri's is open. Is it the only place that serves "Louisville style" pizza? The Post serves New york style. - What is a unique breakfast in Louisville? What restaurant serves it best?
Will definitely check out Jeff Ruby's... I'm also looking for some great pizzerias if you have any suggestions! Will be in Louisville march 3-5 and was wondering if you were interested in vlogging with me? Have a wonderful day beautiful lady😘😘😘 xox
Fun fact about the Louisville Jeff Ruby's- a few years back, when "post-acquittal" O. J. Simpson was in town for the Derby, he went to Jeff Ruby's for dinner. Jeff Ruby HIMSELF kicked O. J. OUT!
you are way wrong about this - Jeff Ruby was aware OJ was there because he knew something was up and one of his employees told him OJ was waiting on a table - Jeff Ruby was aware that his restaurant was full of drunk , mostly redneck - just sayin - And he told OJ what the deal was - OJ was very polite according to Jeff Ruby and OJ asked if he had any recommendations - Jeff Ruby told him about a couple of alternatives and OJ thanked him and went on his way - Jeff Ruby did not kick OJ out - he actually was looking out edit - Jeff wrote a book and he details this
@@katieskeenthat story is bullshit - Jeff Ruby basically told OJ he wasn't in a friendly crowd and he probably would be better off going somewhere else - Jeff Ruby said OJ thanked him and went to a place Jeff recommended - goes to show how stupid stories get repeated - so it's not a "fun" fact - it's an ignorant account of what didn't happen
