Still one of the most dynamic teams I've witnessed in NFL History. Not a Vikings fan, but still peeved that they didn't get to that Super Bowl that year.

The Minnesota Vikings in 1998 had an explosive offense.

“ whenever you see a helmet fly off without the head in it that’s very very good news”
    That’s classic madden ! 18:52

That’s a shame that the Lions wasted Barry’s greatness like that

Pretty amazing that the '98 Vikes were putting up these kind of numbers, and yet Randy Moss wasn't even a starter in the offense until Jake Reed went down with a back injury against Green Bay.

Look at the NFL then though. It was more deep intermediate passes. Now it's more dink and dunk with a few intermediate passes and deep shots.

The evolution of the spread offense. Linemen don't learn to hold their blocks as long today

@@tyleryoung9638 I think the Rams started that whole thing a year later.

The Vikings WR corps ran patterns that were about 15 to 20 yards deeper than pretty much any other team at the time, and were especially dangerous on artificial turf.

Back when offenses tried to get the first down on third down regardless of the yardage needed.

Madden, Summerall and no kneelers… back when the NFL still mattered.

    Do you happen to have
    2003 Vikings @ Raiders
    2006 Texans @ Raiders
Or any Raiders games from 2005-2008?

The 1998 Vikings had more 3 WR formations than the 2021 Vikings.
