That block by Randall McDaniel on Mike Singletary (14:25 mark) is an absolute bone crusher! If Singletary had any doubts about retirement, I gotta think it ended after that block.
1:38:14 Amazing to hear these comments from Dierdorf regarding Gannon, knowing that 10 years later, he would win the NFL’s MVP title, and would be playing in the Super Bowl with the Raiders! I feel like the Vikings should’ve kept Gannon around after 1992, especially after winning 11 games & a division title (I say that as a Packers fan believe it or not!), because he could’ve been something with them in that offense. To move on from him, to the aging Jim McMahon in 1993, and then after that Warren Moon in 1994, was a mistake IMO. No, Gannon’s stats in 1992 weren’t all that impressive, but it was only 1 year with Green as the coach… there easily could’ve been room to grow.
Dan Dierdorf was such a cringe announcer. Oh, by the way, he blatantly implies that Tony Dungy lobbied the NFL for more false start penalties in an attempt to justify the Bears getting a false start penalty. 27:54
Ditka's final season with the Bears was just sad to watch - seeing this proud team that still had a lot of over-the-hill veterans from their 80s powerhouse teams struggle to do much of anything, play in front of a half-empty Soldier Field and lose game after game.
But that was just a couple of bumps in the road, and that was a real shame that the Bears got rid of Ditka and replaced him with an even more inept guy in Wannstedt. That got the Bears into a funk in which they never got out of until 2001. And that got some former Bears fans to bolt to Green Bay.
Scooby Carr Wannstedt wasn’t much better in Miami either. Made the playoffs the first two seasons but that season where Ricky Williams sat out killed his career. Mediocre at Pitt too.
Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve not got any of my old VHS recordings of the Vikings. This has been a real trip down memory lane as a UK Minnesota fan. SKOL
Another blowout loss that I can recall in Chicago when the Packers scored 40 points in 1989 was when the sports cameras showed a freight train with CNW engines. Now here I would have expected a freight train with Soo Line engines.
@@vikeirishman Scooby Carr’s talking about TV cameras, when a broadcast is transitioning into a commercial, showing a passing-by train in Chicago, while likely displaying a scoreboard graphic with the train passing by in the background. In 1989 trains passing by would’ve been pulled by engines for a railroad known as the “Chicago Northwestern”, but in 1992, in the same exact spot, it would’ve been engines for a railroad known as the “Soo Line.” The Chicago rail network has seen a lot of changes over the years, so in comparing different years, in Scooby’s case 1989 & 1992, you would see different companies running trains in Chicago between those 2 years.
Watch how the Bears know they have to double team Randle in this game. Even before he got the praise from the media, teams knew what a beast he was. Doleman and Nooga singled up outside because of him.
i notice that at 23:03 when the stats sometimes shows up the Bears' head logo appears. but yet some of the claims say it was introduce in 1999. the game here is in 1992. why is that.

the hard rock track used in the intro was used only in 1992, and only on select games for the rest of the Frank and Al and Dan era, Heavy Action would be used exclusively in Gifford's storyline intros (games played in late October 1994-96 used a special version of that tune called "Scary Action", an organ-based version designed to invoke a Halloween atmosphere)
Vikings all but officially clinched the Division in the first meeting at the Metrodome with that comeback win, this game is what sent the Bears season to an end.

Killer intro! Monday Night Football is a joke now...
Hank Williams Jr should've kept politics out of things and MNF intros would still probably be memorable
You can thank today's BS Super Ultra PC culture for today's garbage
Del Rio, Rivera, Singletary, and Tice all playing in this game. All became head coaches.
Tice was allegedly an HC...
"It's been 32 years of brutal football!!!" And now, 32 years later, I'm watching this game again. Love this.
I remember this game. The day before election night 1992.

Exactly, lol!
😂
singletary was airborne
I remember this game I was 9yrs old in 1992 I was disappointed but they play at their best Go Bears
The end of the first quarter and not a single penalty, great officiating wish it was still like that, let them play.
Hi, was wondering if you could please send me the link of the 94’ Vikings vs dolphins game that got blocked. Thanks
I've been wanting to see this game again for a long time!
Some great players were in this game! Roger Craig! Rich Gannon, Jack Del Rio! Jim Harbaugh! Randle, Doleman, Singletary Ron Rivera!
Dude I knew Jack Del Rio was a coach, but never saw him actually playing. I was 7 in 1992..

Dennis Green and Mike Ditka- 2 NFC Central Division ships passing in the night. Green's first year with MIN, Ditka's last season in CHI.
14:22 Randall McDaniel blew up Mike Singletary. I met Randall last year before the home opener. Super nice guy, with hands the size of catchers mitts.

You can never replace Joey Browner.
This includes non-football places such as store lines & the dinner table.
you're almost assured the 1st down or getting into the endzone if mcdaniel is playing fullback

The obvious question has to be were the Bears who Dennis Green thought they were in this game?
Can someone please turn back the clock for me? I want Hank Williams Jr doing the intro to MNF again please!
I watched this live and I remember the intro. I probably still have the game on VHS lol. What a game for Vikings fans.

Talent wall to wall. Just amazing how good these two teams were, both just needed a good qb.
VIKINGS had a ton of talent.. Dennis Green knew how to put a team together. They had on the bench DLineman Culpepper, Barker, Robert Harris, etc.
Anthony Carter and Webster Slaughter were my two favs both on underdog teams. Both should have made super bowl appearances.
This was when games weren't controlled by officiating, lopsided games are rare now.
A lot of players here who became head coaches: Ron Rivera, mike singletary, mike tice and jack del rio
And Jim harbaugh
It is so weird seeing commercials trying to convince people that they need anti-lock brakes again 😅
