Quick tip, after completing the blade, get some plow slick, it can be purchased online. It's a 2 part epoxy coating, it can be purchased in clear and rolls right on. I've used it for years and nothing sticks to the plow, it hardens to a shell like finish and protects from chipping also. As usual another entertaining video.

I will look into that, I have been trying to figure out what I should coat it with when I'm done. I'll start the research there ✌

It is definitely a fun way to spend some time. Pretty fulfilling to restore older plows... ✌

Wings save so much time and don't affect windrowing at all. You'll never go back to running without them. I'm around 9ft with mine but if I angle the blade I'm within the width limit but never been stopped running it straight down the road either.
One thing I may do to mine is weld little triangles to the bottom of cutting edge to make it ride right up over cracks that normally give you a nasty jolt when the blade trips.

I totally agree with that, I have looked at a couple different wing options for my plow but haven't found any that I'm ready to purchase yet... They would really help save time without a doubt. Thanks for the feedback! ✌

@@TheChristianHardscaper I have the budget friendly Buyers pro aftermarket wings and they work well. I however have bolted sections of leaf spring to the bottoms of the rubber edges as they tend to get chipped up otherwise. As for durability I smacked one on a curb at 35mph and only had to tweak it back on its mounts with a 3lb sledge and it was good to go. Running them 4 years now and no issues.

I’ve had good luck spraying fluid film in an undercoating gun on my plow, front and back. I spray the hell out of it.
