Dude you don't know how much you helped with this video, I literally spent weeks trying to find why my recordings had stutters and for the life of me I couldn't figure out but now thanks to you I literally no longer have that issue, honestly a life savour!
What fixed it for me, the problem was a plugin I was using called Advanced Scene Switcher to manipulate media sources, and every time the plugin checked for new conditions (every 100ms in my case) it caused the audio in the recording to stutter. If you check the option "Perform on action change only" on the macro that's causing problems in the plugin settings then it will check only at the beginning and won't cause any issues.
Do you want to set them all to 48 or 44.1? It was my understanding that video should be at 48. I'm speaking in context of recording my screen for tutorials on how to navigate my discord server. Thanks so much!
hey if u still getn issuses after syncing the sample rates - 6:46 - uncheck -> Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device - worked for me :) (record and output)
That is typically due to a mismatch between your different audio devices on the Hertz is it called Hertz it might not be called Hertz but the like the bitrate setting of the different devices. For example maybe your window sound is set to 48,000 kHz while your mic is set to 96,000 kilohertz cuz you're using like a focusrite audio interface or something
I do infact have virtual audio speakers.. maybe they are all different frequencies and if this works, it would explain the occasional audio stutter that seems to happen at seemingly random..
@@OMGItsDerek Still testing as we speak! xD I think I came close to a solution but it needs more testing, i adjusted sample rates to match on all audio devices but am now testing "Tracks" being recorded under advanced audio settings via "Application Audio Capture (BETA)" By default, it selects all 6, so I'm testing only one and see if that makes a difference.
Just watched this and realized that I always tested my microphone with the windows sound settings panel open...for some reason OBS doesn't like that at all and the mic gets all crackly when listening to yourself trough Discord or TeamSpeak. Just close the settings panel and you'll sound fine again.
I for sure have been having the issue of - I downloaded and tweaked Voice Meter and my Mic would stutter when I would change scenes. I had to select the mic again and that would fix it until I switched again...hopes are high for this fix!
@@OMGItsDerek After 1 try it didn't work, then in the menu, and in the system settings (of banana meter) there is "preferred main samplerate" and that seemed to fix it :) thx for the knockledge!
@@OMGItsDerek I actually found a better solution. They only end up in pulse because the mic input is there in the desktop audio bit of the scene in OBS. So just make sure you completely remove it from there and it won't be in pulse to have to keep muting. With the help of this for audio and another for video, I was able to get a decent video recording with low CPU usage on a 10 year old low powered laptop 😀
Thanks for this information. I dj using OBS and Irig stream 2 for audio coming from my dj controller, some times I create different scenes which means I need to add my irig to those also, but whenever I have a issue with a scene (meaning no camera or audio) during my recording with OBS if clicking a scene that has no audio then going back to my recording starts shuttering. I wouldnt know until after finishing my recording. Some tips that worked for me is never troubleshoot during your recording and listen to the recording as you record through the audio bar in OBS clicking on the gear drop down menu selecting Advanced Audio Properities and Audio Monitoring then monitor audio. This saved me from recording hours of shuttering music. Tested this with listening that way and trying to troubleshoot, after going back to the original scene the audio was slow. Because I didnt select record at that time believed if recorded it would have shutter because the music was slow and the recording couldntfix it. Hope this help anyone.
Hi, I have tried this but it did not work for me. My issue is that the audio will sound fine and after a while it will sound fast and jumbled up. Any ideas of what it could be?
I think I will download this Banana Software JUST for the ability to record the different audio levels on different layers, so you can adjust them separate from the game volume! That is HUGE!
Going to test to see if this is what I needed for my music audio. Microphone and music were both going into OBS and then into a Virtual Audio cable and then into multistream software rumble studio. Music was weirdly distorted, voice was perfect. This seems like it should work!
does this include a game capture device? for example if my game cap is on 44.1 then everything should be that way. its just weird cause i haven't experienced this before until i just got a new streaming pc. which i guess makes sense less problems on a one pc set.
So my audio stutters for other people when I’m streaming, I never hear it. It’s been doing it with both headsets. I wonder if this video can help me fix that issue
I did all this . Everything matches.. my playbacks are still glitchy/choppy... ONLY playbacks that have been recorded in OBS from my DAW audio... My desktop playback is good .
For me when the mic/aux line goes down to green the audio cuts out in the video im recording but then when it goes back up then the audio is back on, can somebody help me with this? im on a hp laptop
Hey got an issue no RUclips video is able to help me with anyone able to help? : I have everything set up the right way I have a blue tooth mic connected to the pc but that’s not even the problem when I think everything is running smooth my audio on my ps5 will start to bounce or skip and it will keep doing that until I change anything in the elgato properties and that’s only a temporary I would start to do it again a few seconds later
A lot of bluetooth mics when connected to pcs actually drop to super low quality because of the spped transfers of most of them. It's weird. I have the DJI mics and I've tried to use them via bluetooth so many times and they suck but I plus in the receiver to the pc instead of bluetooth they are amazing. My guess is the connectin via bluetooth. Finda mic with a receiver to use instead.
Thank you so much!!! You're a lifesaver! I thought something was wrong with my computer, but this really helped me troubleshoot my issue!!! All of my inputs were on 48Hz but all of my outputs were on 41.1Hz Great Tutorial!
Did you get a fix for this? I’m having this issue currently since the newest update that after 24-26 minutes of recording is getting like a buzzing/crackling sound
Omg thank you so much. I was having random stuttering when recording and was so confused. It didn't show up in audacity really since that's set to 44.1 but obs stuttered like mad. That was set to 48 and input was set to 44.1. So I just set everything to 48. Thanks again and have a good one.
I use OBS because I screen record myself on omegle etc. I've got a good mic but. no matter what software I use to screen record. My audio always cuts out, It sounds like i'm using a super cheap mic, if I hold a note for 10 seconds for instance, It will only pick up 3 seconds & the audio will completely cut out...Any advice?
Check windows mic enhancements are turned off and check that your bitrate for your mic is set to the same as what you're recording in obs or whatever program.
he said "you can't see it on my screen" and it was the one thing I don't know how to get. im on Streamlabs on a Mac and don't know how to pull up all my stuff to set it to 48khz!
Hmm, I'm not super familiar with stream labs music app but most times it's an issue with a difference in hz between sources so that's still first thing I'd check.
thanks so much for this. I'm on Mac but was able to easily figure it out. Useful and informative :) i had to restart OBS streamlabs to get it to register the change
Got rid of the clicking noise but my game audio isn’t synced to what I’m seeing happen on my monitor now😭 thank you for the fix for the noise though. It was giving me a headache 😅
In terms of game or webcam? OBS has the ability to add delays to individual sources if needed to match things that may have a delay like with certain cameras or capture cards.
@@NihinduAngana hey I just solved my own choppy audio problem, though I'm not sure if our situations are the same, I still wanted to pass the fix along. I had an hdmi splitter I left hooked up for convenience that was clashing with the chat link, unhooked that and my sound is crystal clear now.
I'd match them all up to be the same! Especially for streaming you're audio quality is capped anyways so doesn't matter much which one you choose but obv 24bit is a bit better :) in OBS probs won't make a difference.
I'm sure this is super useful information to certain people, but honestly I'm pretty sure I just made the stuttering worse. I don't use scenes or anything fancy, but for some reason my game audio has gone quiet and my mic audio stutters so much it's practically vibrating. I've tried changing the things you pointed out in this video, I've tried lowering framerate, I've tried lowering resolution...My computer HAS been having problems, but I've fixed those, so I don't understand what's going on.
