Motown truly was a machine during their best years back in the day, they made music that was so good and spoke to so many across generations. And this song shows just how good they were at what they did, a true classic.
The music of my youth. Motown was the bomb and the Four Tops were among the best. They had so many great hits, mostly lead by the fabulous Levi Stubbs. Would love to see your reaction to Still Water and Ain’t No Woman. They were so fantastic and had such class. They were 4 guys who grew up in Detroit and sang together for decades. Sadly, only Duke Fakir is still with us. They gave us so much great music and Levi had a voice that was incomparable. Thanks for the great reaction. 👏👏👏🥰
I can't imagine hearing this kind of stuff nowadays. The 50's 60's 70's 80's are decades that will never be repeated. The 70's soul jams include the Stylistics, Chi-lites, Dramatics, O'Jays, Delfonics, I could go on and on!
The Four Tops from Hitsville USA, Detroit one of Motowns best, 😅 I told you Motown is a deep rabbit hole, Berry Gordy had a team that made all the performer's look and sound fantastic,😀 Michael sang this song and so did Diana Ross 😀 the Four Tops was one of my favorites. Peace✌️ and Love❤️ Gary😊 great reaction 🤣
You know we did get it all at one time on AM Radio Back in the 60's with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Temptations , the Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Janice Joplin, the Supreme's, Marvin Gaye, The Doors, Led Zepplin, Smokey Robinson, all on the same AM radio station.
Always ready for the Four Tops! ❤️ They were some of the best Motown groups out there! Levi Stubbs, the main lead singer, was always one of my favorites.
Love all the great Motown artists. They had real class & beautiful harmonies. Love the matching choreography steps that these groups had. The Four Tops had lots of hits such as "Baby I Need Your Loving", “I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)", "Ask The Lonely", "It's The Same Old Song", "Standing In The Shadows Of Love", "Bernadette", "Ain't No Woman", "Something About You", "Shake Me, Wake Me (When It's Over)", "Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever" etc. The Temptations had a similar style & also had lots of great songs.
The temptations were the smooth group, the four tops were the rough group, the supremes were the glamorous group. The four tops had the most emotion and soul, long live rough!
I am from Louisiana. My dad was from Louisiana and was in the service and met my mom. My mom was from Detroit. I grew up on Cajun and Country music from my dad who was a singer. I also grew up listening to Otis Redding Marvin Gaye Teddy P The Four Tops The Temptations Sam Cooke The list goes on and on. I had the best of both worlds. I Miss my parents very much.
Yeah, and the Jackson 5 was one of Motown's best groups, as young Michael Jackson held his own among the best they had to offer, often times artist 3-4x his age, a one of a kind talent.
I was a very white kid in the 60s, who’s parents loved all kinds of music, and played the radio a lot, The hits of the day, everything from country, to top 40s. I really fell in love with the Motown sound. Supremes, Temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Otis Redding, Aretha,, could go on and on,,
Here's some more to try The Platters , my prayer. Or. The great pretender Jackie Wilson lonely teardrops Sam Cooke bring it on home The Contours do ya love me Solomon Burke cry to me Honestly this Soloman Burke cry to me is smoking hot
Gosh I loved The Four Tops. From the time I was a whittle bittie baby I loved these guys. Motown was great in general but I remember being in love with these gentlemen’s music before any of the rest. You think I knew, understood or cared that they were a different race from me? No! And that’s the way it should be!
Motown's finest. The Temptations and The 4 Tops were the best and dominate d the charts for years. This is my favorite 4 stops song. They put out some fabulous music, great vocals and harmony. Motown was where it was at for soul music in the 60's and 70's. And, the groups dressed sharp! Check out "Bernadette" next.
Sugar Pie Honey Bunch was a big hit. They played it on the Jersey Shore in the 60's on the boardwalks. The ocean, all the people, the food, the excitement - all tied up in that song.
Oh man, I love that you brought this soul music in and everything you said about having this in music today. I’m proud to say I had The 4 Tops Greatest Hits album when I was a teenager when it came out and The Temptations and Aretha Franklin. Sure was soul music 😊❤
So glad you enjoyed them! I'm reading the book by the middle backup singer, Duke Fakir, the only living Top, who writes about their amazing bonds of friendship and the musical career that lasted their lifetimes. Definitely listen to other songs of theirs! First big hit was Baby, I Need Your Lovin'.
🇬🇧 OMG you finally got to The Four Tops! My favourite Motown group. Back in the 60s they were on fire 🔥🔥🔥, and they had hit after hit. In 1981 they had another fantastic hit with "When She Was My Girl". If you're going to listen to it, please make sure to type in Saturday 'live" 1981, after the title of course. ❤❤❤❤🎼🎶🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️
this and "i'll be around" by the spinners are just timeless and even genre-jumping. i've heard both redone in a more rock/garage band style that worked beautifully.
Four Tops were one of my all time favorite Motown groups. Levi Stubbs was one of the all time great R&B voices. You should also listen to "Bernadette" and "Sugar Pie Honey Bunch"
Oh man. I was thinking the same thing - that music used to be about love and not sex. So romantic and beautiful. There was some great talent back in the day, and there was those that stood out. ❤
This is classic, and amazing! As far as Jackson Five goes, the list is endless! Try, The Love You Save,Dancing Machine,Mama’s Pearls, I’ll Be There, and Ben, the sweetest song you will ever hear, about a rat!🐀😳
One of the best shows I've seen was in 1984, The Temptations and The Four Tops (aka the Temps and the Tops). Of course, they each did their own sets, but the best part was when both groups shared the stage and they engaged in a kind of competition -- a sing-off, if you will -- as well as a dance-off. Super fun! And this eas when many of the originsl mbrs were still in the groups. Even though my boyfriend had just broken up with me the day before, and the seat next to me was empty, we (my BFF and her boyfriend) really enjoyed that show. Great entertainers.
Great song by a great group. I think you'd like Gladys Knight and the Pips. They have the same vibe of the lead and background singers adding to each others performance. They had a lot of hits, but "Midnight Train to Georgia" would be a great one to start with. (They also do a good version of "Heard it Through the Grapevine, although personally I prefer Creedence Clearwater Revival's version followed by the Marvin Gaye version, then Gladys.)
“ Bernadette” is pure fire and of course “Ain’t no Woman” is awesome too
Motown truly was a machine during their best years back in the day, they made music that was so good and spoke to so many across generations. And this song shows just how good they were at what they did, a true classic.
Detroit at it's finest.

Music from my childhood. What a time to be alive.
This was my music when I was a teenager. Nothing like it. I am feeling so melancholy. Love it!
Spinners, Stylistics, Main Ingredient, Chi Lites, Harold Melvin, O'Jays, 5th Dimension, Sly & The Family Stone
Temptations!
@@christinedonovan6016can never leave out the Temptations.
YES , YES, YES!
Omg! LOVE this song. Makes me feel good and cry at the same time.
One of my all time favorite songs from the 60’s when I was a teen. Thanks for the memories Shon.
Levi had such an amazing voice...just stellar!
Oh yea! Dancing in my living room! Great memories!!
“Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" next please. Cheers.

I agree with you on that
The Four Tops from Hitsville USA, Detroit one of Motowns best, 😅 I told you Motown is a deep rabbit hole, Berry Gordy had a team that made all the performer's look and sound fantastic,😀 Michael sang this song and so did Diana Ross 😀 the Four Tops was one of my favorites. This was my parent’s song…
😌❤️😇
My Daddy passed in 1982 and my Mama in 2018 , but this song reminds me of the love they had ☺️
That's the beauty of music.
"Why can't we have some of this (great music)? Good question bro, good question.
I was lucky enough to be shown this music at a young age. Rest in peace, Aunt Mary.
One of my favorites.
Still my favorite reaction channel!!!!
Thanks. Finally giving our soul brothers a shot. Please, continue on with the Motown beat.
I grew up with this music. Best music in the world.
The Soul is almost unbearable.

That break with the bass is EVERYTHING😎
I love all kinds of music new and old
But this here is some of the finest music ever produced
Always ready for the Four Tops! ❤️ They were some of the best Motown groups out there! Levi Stubbs, the main lead singer, was always one of my favorites.
The Four Tops were BRILLIANT. The 60's, 70's and 80's were the BEST for Music!! ❤❤❤

Oooo Jackson 5 … ABC, Dancing Machine, I Want You Back, Never Can Say Goodbye - that oughta be enough to start with. 😀
The temptations were the smooth group, the four tops
were the rough group, the supremes were the glamorous
group. The four tops had the most emotion and soul,
long live rough!
This is a great example of the Motown Sound. The 60s were full of this kind of vocal and musical style.
I am from Louisiana. My dad was from Louisiana and was in the service and met my mom. My mom was from Detroit. I grew up on Cajun and Country music from my dad who was a singer. I also grew up listening to
Otis Redding

I had the best of both worlds. I Miss my parents very much.
57 years and still sounds great!
Motown produced some of the greats from the 60's/70's/80's. Oh, and then, artists actually had to have talent.
Aw man I was raised on the Jackson Five 💜👏 You HAVE TO hear little Michael!! He was AMAZING
The great Levi Stubbs, he could sing anything, brilliant voice.
4Tops legendary
Thanks Shon! Hello from British Columbia. One of the best Motown songs ever.
What a great music. I love Motown music. I grew up with this fantastic music! ❤❤👍
These guys and the temptations were great poets to music!
Yeah, and the Jackson 5 was one of Motown's best groups, as young Michael Jackson held his own among the best they had to offer, often times artist 3-4x his age, a one of a kind talent.

They were SOOOO big back in the 60's and 70's (UK); on every jukebox and Levi Stubbs is the GOAT!
The Harmonies are amazing The high note at the back makes me tear up.👏👏👏💌 Beautiful.
one of the many reasons that I love oldies is that the people really sang...not this machine to make them sound better like today. Ervin C.
Oh hell yeah good ol’ Motown!! From the city where I was born! DETROIT BABY!!
Oohhh, I love Motown. Check out the Temptations
This was when everything was about pure talent… no gimmicks, auto tunes etc. You weren’t able to grab a mic unless you had TALENT!!
Yaaay! The Four Tops!❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥

Wow this is a classic please do more❤❤❤❤❤
That Motown music was so good.
Excellent chorus. Such are the great groups of this style including The Four Tops and The Temptations to name a few.
I do love the older stuff. It's so pure.

Love me some old school Motown ❤

Michael Jackson used the "Just look over your shoulder" line on the Jackson 5 hit "I'll be There". Check that one out!
All I can say is yes 👍 I love it

Pure class
Do more Four Tops. And yes...Jackson 5...not just top hits... They were really smokin' through and through.

💖💖💖💖
back when music had so much talent
Yea radio music reminds me being a kid mom cleaning.
God bless Motown!
please do "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' - The Righteous Brothers"
Great song by a great group. I think you'd like Gladys Knight and the Pips. They have the same vibe of the lead and background singers adding to each others performance. They had a lot of hits, but "Midnight Train to Georgia" would be a great one to start with. (They also do a good version of "Heard it Through the Grapevine, although personally I prefer Creedence Clearwater Revival's version followed by the Marvin Gaye version, then Gladys.)
