2024 Adult Championships - Gold Lyrical Pop/Character/Comedic II - 3rd Place (21.17)

In my 10th Adult Championships, this event felt the most sentimental since it’s the only event I’ve in fact done 10 times. I used to solely compete showcase, and a character or comedic program has always been part of my Adult Champs experience. Through good luck and a couple of skin-of-my-teeth pewter medals, I’ve made the podium every time.
Earlier in the day, I cut my hand and got acquainted with the medical team. They asked about my event and expressed an interest in participating. I brought them glasses and they joined in with the audience. I loved the feeling of 50+ people being part of this with me. It wasn’t just my program; it was theirs, too.
Cleveland provided an unexpected opportunity to revive and revamp this program (it was initially supposed to be performed in 2020). This version ended up stronger than the original and I can now retire it on a high note (unless another Adult Champs overlaps an eclipse).
