I knew this would probably be my last time doing this program but didn’t want to officially decide until I was satisfied with the performance. Aside from the camel spin, I’m satisfied and happy to retire it on a good note. As a lifelong Spice Girls fan, the music is incredibly personal for me. I knew that the music deserved good skating - something memorable that I could be proud of. I wanted to channel everything that makes the Spice Girls iconic and legendary: their boldness, their joy, and their strength.
The moment I entered the opening spin, I was filled with regret. I knew it would be impossible to hold it for 8 rotations. I told myself, “This is not how the rest of this is going to go.” I was determined to fight and show what I was capable of. I did that, and I wound up with a personal-best technical score and a personal-best presentation score. I found myself in a 5-way tie for 28 points and wound up .27 points shy of a pewter medal. Every jump was called clean and this was my most-successful flying upright spin so far. It was the closest I’ve ever come to making a free skate podium at an Adult Champs and it was bittersweet to be so close. But, I have a lot to be grateful for, including a highly coveted Terryl Tossie!

Such a fun routine, love your outfit too! As an adult who has decided to get back into figure skating after many years, seeing you having so much fun and being so entertaining and graceful on the ice is very inspiring. Please keep posting your stuff 😀
