I love both for different reasons. We have done test drives in both, so it might be a tough call, but for me personally and for my needs I'd probably go with the Model X.
You should have Abby try Snow Mode with regen on Low. Heard it as a tip on Reddit and seems to be favored when I have guests in the car. Uses more energy since it’s powering all wheels but might be good to use when getting accustomed to the R1S
Try getting clip on mics for both of you...would fix sound issues... Gen2 does have matrix headlights. The R1 also does great in crashes I've seen but car gets totaled by insurance like most EVs
She doesn't like being on camera. And we speak Tagalog (Filipino) to each other. I just use text to translate it on screen. 😊 Rivian has good safety. Not as good as Tesla but better than many other vehicles www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/rivian/r1s-4-door-suv/2024
It may not be as important to everyone as it is to me, but I really enjoy the large HEPA filter in my Tesla. Since getting that I haven’t smelled exhaust or dealt with seasonal allergies in the car. It seemed like a small thing until I switched cars for a few weeks and very much missed the clean air in my Tesla. That and full self driving keep me from switching to Rivian despite the R1S being a better size and having the off road capabilities I want. I have some small hope that the R2 or R3 may upgrade the cabin air filter.
That is an important feature. Thank you for bringing that up. Here in Socal, we have many wildfires. With the software update displaying air quality, I can take advantage of using bio weapon dense mode. I agree and hope that Rivian will add HEPA filters to their vehicles in the future.
@@hobblyjig soooo is FSD actually going to happen for Tesla. They're still pretty far off from full approval and safety the last that I saw. As. Rivian owner and friend of many Tesla owners...I can assure you that even if Rivian had FSD I would never purchase or utilize at all. I LOVE driving the Rivian(and some Tesla owners seem to love driving theirs).
I'm only about 9 minutes and 15 seconds into this, but I do love the dynamic between you and your wife. Sorry I assume she's your wife. Especially when she has. I guess one could say complaints and you are trying to give her a different perspective. It is very very cool
Lol, Rivians are not similar to Tesla really at all. 1) they don't look like an egg 2) much more room in the interior 3) tested range that doesn't lie 4) much more functional space and storage in all Rivian vehicles 5) non fascist CEO at Rivian 6) seat comfort is better with Rivian in my opinion (and I've heard others)...and Rivian cooled seats are killer compared to Teslas 7) Rivians are much more off-road and adventure capable.

Interesting. Is it the same feeling on dual motor I wonder. I can try it on the truck. I returned the loaner already though. Thanks for the tip.

Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video.
Pretty slick SUV. Funny how similar they are to Tesla 😂😂😂. Great detailed coverage as usual
Rivian copies Tesla, as expected.

@johnjohn3241 He did come from Tesla so yes. Tesla was the first for many of these electric car makers so that's a given.
