Interesting... You have a 2019 X and considering the R2 replacement? At this time, no info on adaptive suspension for R2. Going by Model 3 Highland, the Model Y Juniper may get adaptive suspension. There have been some videos out of China showing the new Model Y on trucks and you can see the soft suspension as the truck drives along the highway. It's one of those creature comfort I miss when I drive my 2022 Model Y. I hope we hear something about R2 suspension. At least have the option for the top trim R2.
I think you have to hold the button on the V4 to get the adapter to come out. Also Rivian stopped including NACS adapters for free on Jan 13th unfortunately.
Oh they stopped giving it for free? That sucks. I will try holding down the button next time I go to this charging station. I wonder if I would get lower speeds. Don't they cap at 150kW?
Yes, I was thinking about it during the time I was looking at the R1T. I think the Lightning is a great electric truck for those who are contractors and DIY projects. I like it for the little things it has like the useful measuring tools on the tailgate, the tailgate becomes a step like the Hummer EV, the bed size, it looks like any other F150 (I've always wanted a Raptor), comes with running boards. But beyond that, I don't know how it will be for outdoor activities. The Rivian has the gear tunnel, the accessories, the community. Both Tesla and Rivian have the software and features I'm already used to. I think it's a great first electric vehicle if you haven't experienced Rivian or Tesla. Specially with the lease deals they have going right now. Ford is also one of the few that update software often outside of Tesla and Rivian.
It’s already mid January and no news about price, trim, or being able to configure. There’s no way they’re gonna start building R2 in March. That would be great if they started production sooner than a year and a half from now like they’ve said
If I have to supercharge outside the house, I have to find an errand to run or eat. I can't stay in the car. If not on a road trip, I have to find a location that has food or somewhere I can do an errand. Fortunately, most locations have this. So far only one Rivian charging station isn't good. It's at a mall and if I go there too early, I can't waste time and walk around. No coffee shop nearby either haha.
The Rivian R1T has some wind noise. I haven't had the Cybertruck long enough to give you feedback. We've had strong winds most of the days after taking delivery. Model X however, have been the best in terms of cabin noise. The Model X also has noise cancelling feature to help. www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modelx/en_us/GUID-A1DF67DE-94B4-4859-98B4-B0A5D342FAB3.html (skip to Road Noise Reduction section) It's not completely silent but noticeably best out of all the EVs I've owned.
@@campfirewisdom I think both trucks have different use cases for us. I'm fortunate to be able to have both and best I could do is make content to share the experiences I have between the two. Thanks for watching.
New Model Y design fail makes me more excited for R2. Its crazy how Tesla could miss the mark so hard. They seem to be a on a losing streak (despite the stock movement).
Someone had done a photoshop of Juniper with Highland headlights, removing the light bar. It looks much better. We've had a couple of Model Y and love it. Only thing I wish it had is ventilated seats. I think because it works well for us, our bar is set even higher to convince an upgrade. I'm excited for the R2. I hope Rivian will start sharing more info soon. Plus it should have NACS built-in which makes it even better.
Watching this from my Master Bedroom Studios. That new Model Y is legit. Will keep.my 2023 MYP though.
So far, only thing I’m exited for is the ventilated seats. I’m happy with my 2022 MYP. I don’t need launch edition. I can wait.
R2 looks awesome. Hopefully it's priced right. Hanging on to our 2019 X til R2 comes out

@sherwinm True. We also have a 2022 R1T that's pretty awesome.
Oh ok. Would be a nice combo R1T and R2 🤔.

@@sherwinm I don't think so, thought I saw a Hyundai pulling over 200 in a recent out of spec video.
@@MixyDoodlecool. I’ll have to try it. This charging station is on the way to work. Thanks.
Wonder What's your takeaway of the ford lightning? Have you thought about getting one 😅

Sorry, I meant March 2026 not 2025 😅
I love charging. I pick up some Jack in the Box or Carl's Jr. and then eat in my car while my car charges.

Hi and greetings. Can you please test 70-110 mph sound levels on a speedway and report back? It is really hard to come by with this EV. Thanks.

110mph 😂😂. He’s not going out of his way to risk his life or break the law and endanger the public for wind noise
Ya that’s a bit excessive. You can tell at lower speeds 😂
Thanks for the video, Sherwin. I can see you’re torn between two very fine machines. Rivian ftw, imo
