Mark Farner was the KING in every way: looks, hot bod, stage presence, great voice, fab songwriting, switching back and forth between instruments and awesomely playing all of them, and dancing across the stage. It just doesn't get any better when someone has it all.
I hear what you're saying, and I AGREE. But listen, I am sure that if Mark Farner had been short, fat, bald and ugly, GFR's music would still be JUST AS POWERFUL and FUN as this.
Mark Farner es Alma Grand Funk!!!!!!
Too bad he blew the band up.
Could not agree more!
I hear that it was the other two members of the band that blew up the band by removing Mark Farner from GFR. I have seen Mark Farner’s solo act twice and it was great both times. Don Brewer and the rest of the current GFR line up are just a Grand Funk cover band.
Holy Sh... these guys were GOOOOOD ,one of the Best in the 70's🎸🇺🇸✌🏽
GFR had to have been one of the most underrated bands ever. These guys were multi-talented and put off one of the absolute best live shows in the history of rock!
in 1975 GFR sold more records than any other band...I believe the Vietnam vets were buying them
Best 3 piece Band that ever hit the stage!! I witnessed them in 1970 in Jacksonville Florida where i live now.. I have been a rocker for over 50 yrs and still have not witnessed a 3 piece Band better or as good as GRAND FUNK RAILROAD!
I saw them in 74..... and still listening to them American rock
Lucky dude to have seen them!
Great band but cant put them above Rush for 3 man band
👍 I think I saw them in, it was either 69 or 70, small venue, Wilkes Barre, Pa, just the three of them. My jaw was on the floor, Farner had the energy of 10 men. Some things , you just never forget, I even remember the first song they played..."Are you Ready" . People were dancing on the seats. ;)
I don't know if Rush ever blew away Led Zeppelin on stage but Grand Funk Railroad sure did!
This is a classic rock song from that era, one of the best worth hearing.
mark farner is so damn good ,he don't even know how good, there was no loud hard driving rock till they showed up,you knew when they was in town you could hear them five miles away,no bull
It was said that Miles Davis had to cancel his show because Grand Funk Railroad was doing a show at the same time in the same city. That was how powerful Grand Funk Railroad was at that time!
One of them speeding ticket songs. I saw Mark Farner and his band couple years ago in New York City, one of the best concerts I ever seen
Ha. I like that..speeding ticket songs. ..👍...He's still got the chops to appeal to new fans. I first saw the original Grand Funk , Mark Farner , Mel Schacher and Don Brewer in Wilkes Barre , Pa. in 1970. They were 2 hours of foot stompin sweaty Detroit rock. Amazing.
Farner was Grand Funk...shame the band got bad blood in later years and kicked him out. That band still tours under the name Grand Funk, but without Farner, they're just another American Band. :-)
Has GFR ever been nominated to the RRHF? They should be there.
I saw these gentlemen at the now demolished Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio in 1974 when I was 13 years old. My older brother took me to the show. It was my first live rock concert. I so remember the energy and intensity. My ears are still ringing. Best live performance ever.
YEP, THEY WERE the greatest of the 70s. Mark Farner was thee frontman of the times. I saw them as the original trio, at a rather small venue at Paramount Theater in Wilkes Barre, Pa. The blew the roof off of the place. 😉👍
You're my age. I saw Robin Trower at Hara Arena in about 1975. Same thing here. Older brother and I went. Awesome concert. Can't remember the warm up band. I used to go to the free concerts at Fairmont West High School in the summers. They had some pretty good local bands, one of them being JTS Brown. Remember them ? I also was at the 1971 Wrightstock 3-day concert at Wright State University. Older sister attended there. Thanks for the good trip down memory lane.
Top selling Band in 1975,that's when Vietnam War ended and the Vets LOVED this band,so makes sense, they came home and bought their favorite bands records
he literally has a Rock and Roll Soul
Super Band .. enjoyed them when i was a teen.. sad story how they disbanded.. Wish they came back and had a reunion.. Mark is super as always as the front man but the rest of the members were all super musicans in their own right.. Just a great band having fun ... great to listen & watch them perform ..
Phenomenal band. Wayy underrated.
Grand Funk needs to be in The RnRHOF
Without a doubt. How is it that this super group is always overlooked? pisses us off.
When you look up Rock n Roll in the dictionary this what should come up.
I was only thirteen when I heard this song for the first time ...... it's in me today ...
Muy lindo
E PLURIBUS FUNK!!!! Still great stuff. Farner/Brewer vocals!! Superb musicians.!! Heard that record at about ten years old and new I had to play rock n roll!!
True fact. It took the Beatles several weeks to sell out their legendary Shea Stadium show. Grand Funk Railroad only needed 72 hours.
With no internet.....
Yes they did!!.True fact!!
I was 16 or 17 when Grand funk hit the scene...They were beyond huge, they were everywhere and sold out Shea Stadium faster then the Beatles had done.. Such an incredible incredible band....Take me back💫
The absolute best cover.
I was only thirteen when I heard this song for the first time ...... it's in me today .
Saw them do this as a three piece in Sunrise Florida on the Grand Funk Lives tour! Amazing!!
oufff, I loved this song from the day it came out & still do !!!
One word for this. Epic.
Grand Funk my first rock concert in Lincoln Nebraska paid $5 to get in, been a fan since day one,
Look at that drummer.....YUM
con tan pocos instrumentos hacian grandes cossas, la forma de tocar el bajo y el chico de la bateria es pura magia
Grandissimo gruppo che NON ha ottenuto cio che avrebbe meritato
Bothers me that voice, those songs, that show and their mega stardom somehow now doesn't get all the credit deserved.
great tempo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEIR BEST SONG!!!
ROCK ON!!
One of the best Intro songs.
Shhhtttt yeah, rock it man!!!!
Ya always go back to your roots.. They're coming back for another show soon, hope I get to see it.
If it is Grand Funk, it has got to have, Mark.
+Dan Taylor Sr. . Yes Sir, you got that right The other guys underhandedly cut him out...and without Mark Farner...well, It's not Grand Funk...end of story. thanks. Akimmbo
15 DISLIKES?! WHY ARE THEY EVEN YOUTUBING GRAND FUNK IF THEY DON'T LIKE THIS SONG?
Thank you for the video without all the logos.
Excelente, muy buen grupo!!
If THAT doesn't get some part of you tapping to the beat, you're probably dead.
Love the 70's outfits
Very nice clip... thanks !
Excelentes recuerdos, seguro. Nos alegramos mucho que los vio 'en vivo' y en persona. Nunca lo olvidaré.

Saw these guys with Wet Willie Band in like 74... Municipal Auditorium KCMO
MAGNIFICOOOOOOOOO
GFR is the ultimate garage rock band. Mark and his wife Lisa and my wife and I had supper together in 1992 when he was in Austin, Texas. Even though Terry Knight was an asshole, he was the driving force behind this great band and another great band from Texas called Bloodrock.
Love GFR and Bloodrock! They don't make music like that anymore.
+chalkoutlinenews You got that right and for GFR NOT to be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame means there is no rock and roll hall of fame. Period. You want to rock and roll out of your garage and then onto massive arenas, then this is THE band to do it!!
one of the few bands i didn't get to see in their heyday....but a favourite still...
+protwin66 oh boo...I saw them twice.....they were unbelievable then...and Mark Farner...well, he's still got it goin on.....he sounds better than ever. ;) akimmbo
saw them in 1970. wow.
Happy birthday Craig Frost....Peace bro
The good old days when bands actually knew how and played instruments
Comments a fuckin hundred years old!Good music gone lost.I ain't no dinosaur .I am young enough to respect elders. Are you kidding me.Kick ass rock and roll.Come on man, this our history. Not out of pity
absolutely. saw the original lineup when they first broke. Couple of times. I was nuts on these guys for a loooong time. still listen to as much as I can with Farner singing and playing. shame they cut him out , of money, of using the name, everything. FARNER can still kick ass.
A todo bajista le tiene que encantar Mel Schacer. Es fantástico.
Esta rola está de poca ma....hasta muerta la bailaria
Best bass and drums in rock the backseat of rock
hard driving rhythm section oh yeah
Any question about who was the BADDEST, most VERSATILE, and all around TALENTED front men of live Rock and Roll... Its MARK FARNER hands down
in the 70s, and beyond, you're right, he remains one of the most iconic frontmen ever. Farner Rules. ;-)
Qué chingoneria......😎😎😎
My hometown boys from Flint, I would give up my car and a couple of my kids to have Farners voice....
Just damnit amazing!!!!! I walk to this song. GFR!!!!!!!!!!
Don Brewer... 'nuff said...
Super killer bass
These boys sold out Shea Stadium, more tickets sold than the Beatles! no small feat. Awesome vocals Mark!

Mark we need to jam brother.
Mark Farner is "special"
👍 He was THE frontman of 70s rock, no doubt about it. Saw him in person twice...cat had so much energy...and that voice. man. 👍👍 Also, Don Brewer on Drums, that guy was flailing so fast he actually looked like a blur. Brewer had a good voice too, he and Farner fit like a hand in glove.
Saw them Live ! But ? WHO was the4 th man on the multiple Keyboards ???? They were best live show ever !!!!
Craig Frost, they added him after a bit to fill out the sound, ;-)
There is a 5th guy playing guitar in the background. Who’s he?
Genios
Saw them years ago with the Wet Willie Band. I think it was 1975 or 76. Old Municipal Auditorium KCMO
Mark Farner is playing a show in Pittsburgh this weekend...8/12/16..a free show. I'm fully expecting some footstomping music.
Mark Don and Mel + Craig are Grand Funk Railroad. No one else is allowed.
Tick Bryan Saw them at Ona Racetrack in early 70s, one of best live bands ever
Had there 1st Double Live album..till there was a house break in ☹️...
Can any of you 39👎’s explain your “comment” on the best rock and roll band of all time? Must be Partridge Family Groupies!
3:56 - BOOM! There's your f&^%kin' receipt!
An incredibly powerful and quality live performance by GFR! Did the owners of the venue find the roof within 100 feet of the building after this song? The fans sure did get their money's worth in just this one ditty.
This was at the Forum in Los Angeles. They took this show for the "Caught in the Act" Live LP.
40 years ago at my high school dance
Craig Frost is so hot!
this is what Mark doesmark has other plansto ROCK
O SELO PSICOSE RIO GB 1969 MESTRE ROBERTO CABOTAGEM MCB MM
Está fue la mejor música loca como le decíamos buena asta para bailarse q canción sin tanto ruido a lo pendejo como después empeso a salir i su cambiadero de nombres para q sepan lo q es bueno
Happy Friday !
Voted top live band of the 70s out sold Shea Stadium faster than the Beatles and I like few Halen songs a lot and rest were OK but without Radio / Record politics and left alone to the sh#t they did best , they could have easily been the greatest American Rock Band in main stream genre , but True Funksters go down with the Funk . I'll take them over any band .
ESTA SI. ES. MUSICA. MUSICA. NO. MAMADAS😂😂❤🎉❤🎉❤
He had something but I'm still trying to figure out what it was!
what a fucking good music!
How good can it get?
@jogmas12 they are fans of Van Halen.....plus, "animal" from the muppets was modeled after Brewer, can you see it?
My friends and I thought GFR was too commercial. Talented, yes. But shallow, I guess. Nowadays...WOW.
they brought the energy when they played LIVE. Sold out Shea Stadium in N.Y. faster than any band in HISTORY I've seen them Live ...twice, and WoW is right. 😁✌
Too commercial? Maybe from their American Band album on, but certainly not their earlier work. They were the darlings of early FM radio.
A+ = )
q tal del gran fong musica para bailar
