Alright! My next song is Shinigami’s song! Funny how I thought I’d make Yakou’s song after Yomi’s, but I ended up making 2 (or maybe more) songs between them! That’s just how life works, and I’m happy I got the shinigami song because she’s literally THE poster girl for RAINCODE, and I feel like having her not be in the first 3 songs would be a crime lol.
So, I wanted Shinigami's song to evoke those really groovy Halloween songs that we all know and adore (Thriller, The Ghostbusters theme, etc.) That mix of halloween-y spookiness with campy silliness reminds me of how Shinigami combines a sort of gothic aesthetic with silly magical girl antics, And I think I did a pretty good job replicating the feeling those halloween songs give. In fact, I loved the first sound I made when creating this song that I downloaded that little section and listened to it on repeat! That… WOULD explain why I'm a tad bit burnt out on this song haha.
I am really happy that this song really FEELS like Shinigami the same way MyWay feels like Yomi. What inspired me to make this song was RAINCODE’s ending, where you hear about how much Shinigami Admires Number One and how Number One kind of enjoyed Shinigami’s company during that flashback. It makes me think that every single one of Shinigami’s actions, while they may be annoying/rude to Yuma, Number One would have certainly enjoyed, and that makes me feel so bittersweet. While the song itself kind of became more of a summary of Shinigami’s arc (which I don’t really mind since songs like hers don’t really focus TOO much on the lyrics aside from being catchy), it still captures that bit of bittersweetness at the end, and frankly, that just makes the song even more like Shinigami herself.

Raincode was such an experience for me, going in completely blind. And seeing stuff like this being made cause of it? It’s amazing to see. This is very well put together and executed, and I genuinely loved listening to it. Shinigami was such a good partner character, and I feel this does her justice. Excellent work on your part, 10/10 😊
