This song got delayed by both an overseas trip AND being sick for a whole damn month so I'm SO glad it's finally released 😭😭😭 This is my first ever duet song!! I actually have a song idea for a duet with 2 male vocals that I want to release during Pride month if I can so this definitely won't be my last duet :3 Also I'm eternally grateful to the person who commented on my POPY vs Stardust poll to add ROSE because not only was she pretty easy to tune, I think she turned out sounding really good for Shinigami! She's the first Synth V where I've had to go out of my way to make her sound less powerful though (it's normally the other way around lol).
GENERAL SPOILER INFO
- If you're ok with some spoilers then it's ok the watch/listen. Practically nothing from after chapter 0 to before the mystery labyrinth in chapter 5 is spoiled. Mentions of the major mystery and an important character leave out the majority of what you'd learn in the game.
- If you want to reduce spoilers (chapter 0 victim and culprit and events in chapter 5 mystery labyrinth) but still want to hear the song, then listen without watching the video.
- If you want to play completely spoiler free then play the game before watching/listening.

People often confuse a spiritual successor with a sequel. It’s *not* a sequel, it’s not a derivative of Danganronpa. It’s *Rain Code* . The writing and murdery-mystery aspect are what make it a spiritual successor to Danganronpa.
Say what you will about Rain Code but don’t say it sucks bc it didn’t follow the Danganronpa narrative. My advice-set aside all Danganronpa biases and _really_ see Rain Code as its own thing.
YES!! As someone who is a Danganronpa fan, Rain code is NOT like Danganronpa, and it is its own thing. People really need to separate 2 franchises and enjoy them for what they are. I’m still a Danganronpa fan but a Rain code fan as well, and it makes me very angry when people put very high expectations on Rain Code. ITS NOT DANGANRONPA, ITS JUST A SEPARATE GAME WITH A SIMILAR STYLE LIKE DANGANRONPA.

I haven't looked into the stories of Rain Code, but 1:14 is one of my favorite parts since Yuma just sounds kind of fed up by Rose's part of the lyrics lmao, it kinda makes it feel like the lyrics were dialogues instead of just a string of text, giving it a fun twist. Also DAYUM but Rose and Yuma goes so damn well with your tuning it sounds godly

I love the part when Yuma and Makoto sing at the same time (2:22). If I take my left headphone off, I can hear Makoto clearly while Yuma sounds more muffled and vice versa. I just think it's a really cool and creative detail.
And the two "Who am I?"s merging together into one because they both have a past as Number One... It's really, really good.

This game was wonderful, you can truly see the growth of their relationship, how Yuma goes from putting up with Shinigami's jokes and suggestive tone to finally snapping at her. From Shinigami's growth as a mentor and a partner!! I ship these two!
I need them to have a song of their own. A title for Shinigami's song could be "The reapers dance." Like the dance Shinigami and Yuma do to get the solution blade. Or "Death." or "Mentors Promise." or "Death for all Deplorables!" Feel free to use these if you'd like, your super talented!!
