I think i kinda started cracking down the lore. Firstly, we can see that the character is an elf. And judging by the unsung dialogue, the character 2 (lets call him friend) speaks about it like it was centuries ago. Also the lyrics constantly talking about god, demons and angels. So its definitely a sci fi x fantasy setting or something similar. The character in the song constantly signs about computer related concepts with last part even having them designed as a robot. So: "Stuck behind a screen that never dares to break in half, an unremarkable view" And "stick and stones have broken my bones" With also lyrics being about cutting fron the past and regret. So: The character digitalized themselves, putting their consciousness into a computer. Either because they were wounded, as suggested by "Sticks and stones have broken my bones" or they did it to become godlike and the lyrics mean that the machine they inhabited has broke down, leaving them powerless. Starting lyrics is her telling to not pity her and run away, which also reinforces this interpretation. "Catch me if you think you can make it" Is PROBABLY reffering to her friend, but im unsure. (Perhaps also this means that she's hiding in the internet, machinery and many other things, a runaway ai if you will, which is reinforced by her being reffered to as "this thing" Instead of "her" So shes definitely not coming in person) The verse that follows about the earth and the sea killing you, is actually probably related to her, as she is trapped in digital world, and is scared of the machine being destroyed by time, slowly and painfully erasing her existence. The unspoken dialogue tells that its her fault that she's left in such pitiful state. ("Power corrupts") "Infinite death" Reffers to her existence, post mortem, stuck in a machine, fallen from Godhood, only to be forgotten in sands of time.. There's not enough info to break down the more spiritual and magic related verses like "shadows burning beneath me" (Even though as a writer i can say that its 70% chance to be just a cool line without actual meaning XD) Also i found cool that her angel version is holding a flower, something no other version does EDIT: after reading some of the creators replies, the "friend" Is probably the religious zealot(even speech patterns like "little one") And "Catch me if you think you can make it" With "Power corrupts" Are actually posing HER as the good guy, as she tried to destroy the evil corporation and was neaely destroyed.

Idk what this song is about but it reminds me of a story I read as a kid where a girl with an immortality body granted by God travels the apocalyptic world with her partner to experience the infinite death of every human to atone for their sins and give them salvation or something, I'm not sure, it's been too long.

Holy moly I love this so much. This has just helped me imagine and generate a whole friggen plotline for my DnD campaign I run! A looping boss battle where the boss is surprisingly easy and my....NPC deletion...hobo players will have to realize that bringing the big bad to 0 HP will simply restart the battle loop, except they are anomalies and aren't a part of the loop and they'll be down the resources and HP they spent. ehehehehehe a fight where you can't win by simply winning. The ultimate challenge! Making my players try to use their brains! MWUAHAHAHA
Let's be honest, that's the best way to deal with murder hobos. Look at how Horrortale deals with the Genocide speedrunners that are used to just hitting the FIGHT button every turn.
@@charitabletrader1581 So essentially, they’ve met the character that’ll play as the boss. Upon entering the temple where the battle will take place, it’ll be essentially a closed battlefield as the now corrupted divinity traps them in a personal plane of existence (It’s a homebrew campaign where the primary focus is about there being “too many gods” and their battle is causing problems for the mortal worlds, so they’ve seen like… “pocket dimensions” for specific gods already like Sleep/Nightmares/Imagination etc). Mechanically, every time the boss is…taken down…the playing field will begin to get smaller (which would be bad news damage wise if they fell into the lost tiles). Boss has mediocre AC and HP but has some legend res/actions. Each round that they don’t realize they shouldn’t be focusing on the boss I’ll give them additional info as to how the battlefield updates/important objects. Few ways they could free themselves would be by finding a way to escape this pocket dimension without dealing with the problem, they can realize that the divinity has been corrupted (and we have a homebrew system for how to deal with our “corruption” which involves cursed items), they could view the battlefield and realize that the pillars of the temple aren’t deteriorating like the rest of the building and they could take them all out to bring the temple down (which would break them out of the pocket dimension and put them back in the real church with the boss which they could then…take down…for one final time. I’m also open to a few shenanigans type things they might try as well (like calling on other divinities they’re close to and such/anything remotely creative that isn't just bashing the boss more). TLDR: They’ll lose if they just keep beating up the boss over and over and not listening to the leading clues/doing investigations. They can either fix the boss, take down the temple, or find an escape with shenanigans.

Truly the story of this man taken by the enemy army is a sad one. A man that when his people needed him most he stored all of their souls in himself. He did this to protect them from the army's raid of his kingdom. the army found the man and took him deep into their stronghold. the people of his kingdom loved him so much that each week the enemy army sent an executioner to kill the man a commoner would take his place. so the executioner kept coming to kill him weeks on end. infinite death, who will break the cycle. Amazing song btw! I'm just now starting to get into making vocal synth music and this is part of my inspiration! I just realized I never give myself time to think, always entertaining myself online, always reading, always doing work, there’s no time to think if I’m constantly doing something and thus no time for feelings to fester and rot
Listening to this always reminds me of an old story of mine. It revolves around a character that was once a man pulled from his life for no reason by a being so powerful even gods are but ants to it. Thrown into another world and simply told to unite it and bring it prosperity succeeds but is betrayed by his closest friend out of jealousy for the political power he holds, starting a war that rips the entire planet apart. Fighting for centuries against each other the entire world is ruined in the process and nearly all life on the planet is killed off by weapons of mass destruction. In the end the traitor makes a final stand on a glacier with the last dregs of his once great army. In an effort to finally end things the man takes several failing tanks and the few loyal men left to storm the makeshift fort. The men in the tanks are all dead by the time they reach it, though some don't know it yet and continue to fire anyway. As they approach and kill off the last of the betrayer's followers the man climbs the glacial mesa and walks towards the last living thing on the planet. His old friend stands by a flag stuck in the ice, tattered and ruined to the point the once colorful sigil is impossible to discern. His old friend shouts out as he approaches, his words ripped away by the freezing wind. Both draw their swords and do battle for the final time. The battle is short, both are tired from the endless war. With a final push the man buries his sword into his old friend's chest. As the blood flows out of his body the man looks into his eyes and says one word, "Why?" There is no answer, the man is dead, they both are now. One dying here on the ice, the other a long time ago. The dead man walks off the glacier and into the freezing ocean. His body sinks to the bottom and he keeps walking along the sea floor away from everything. The dead man is empty now, there is nothing left for him here, nothing left for anyone at all. Eventually his soul is pulled from his dead flesh, his body collapsing deep underwater. The world is over, it's life extinguished. The man's is not however, the omniscient being rufuses him rest, refuses to let him end his story. Another world, this time he succeededs and "saves" the world. It doesn't matter to him anymore. Nothing fills the void inside him. No amount of success can make up for his failures, the only driving force left in him a desire to rip down the being that traps him in this endless cycle of worlds, forcing him to "save" them. A soul made of stars wanders the endless spaces between worlds, seeking answers, seeking power, seeking an end. A tale of endless persistence against omniscience.
@@dr.derpington I think they misunderstood and thought this was available to read fully somewhere. If it's not, and you want to, you should share the full story! It sounds super cool! (: Unless this is the full story you wrote, in which case it'd be awesome to have an extended version.

I really like the sound of this song. I don't know, it's not quite like other songs, and feels more simple yet better than most of the other complicated and way too wild songs. Especially the balance of not too many instruments makes it more pleasant to the ears to listen to. Great story behind the song too! Keep up the great work!
im not fully sure what "infinite death" means in this context, but i cant help but think of it in a sense of gods playing with a singular soul, a mortal, to live a life of immortality, infinitly dying and growing more demented overtime. frankly, this song inspired me to make such a thing, might write about it. love this song so much honestly.
i am a gm for a campaign where there is a lot of eldritch horror planned, but have been having some difficulties planning things out. this song has given me so many ideas it's awesome. this song is great and a thing that i have noticed while listening to music is if you want to have a really bad uncanny valley effect, you can either offset your lyrics slightly or occasionally have instruments just stop playing for a beat. if you really want to unsettle the listeners (while still being enjoyable to listen to), subtle things do far more than large or abrupt changes.
Yeah I have some horror songs in the works where I'm playing around with that sort of thing, I have noticed another good thing is to go out of key on the last beat of a verse but in a tasteful way and then drop down to a different key for the chorus, I have a couple of wips playing around with that sort of thing. ID wasn't meant to be a horror song itself but I can see how it might come across as one, esp cause of the art
@@tiramika A good song that really hits the uncanny valley feeling is CG5's "Repair me" during the chorus, something just feels off about it in a good way

Amazing song btw! I'm just now starting to get into making vocal synth music and this is part of my inspiration! Someone commented it only had 400 views a month ago and now it's at 156k views, you deserve it! Keep it up!
I just realized I never give myself time to think, always entertaining myself online, always reading, always doing work, there’s no time to think if I’m constantly doing something and thus no time for feelings to fester and rot
Why it looks so perfect for Lobotomy Corporation? Who knows the ending will agree...
This gives me IHNMAIMS vibes, it's such an eerie song but it tickles my brain just right.
THIS IS SO GOOD... IT REINDS MR A LOT OF YHR MAGNUS ARCHIVES!!!!
Or Magnus protocol...the forerunner of Magnus archives
@lucyxchan6808 could also be that! tma is just more popular so it made more sense to mention that ^_^
Listening to this always reminds me of an old story of mine. As the blood flows out of his body the man looks into his eyes and says one word, "Why?"
There is no answer, the man is dead, they both are now.
Wonderful story, if there is a link or anything like please send it.
@@Boto__07A link to what?
@@dr.derpington I think they misunderstood and thought this was available to read fully somewhere. If it's not, and you want to, you should share the full story! It sounds super cool! (: Unless this is the full story you wrote, in which case it'd be awesome to have an extended version.
@@RandomFishtankClips Ah, I only ever wrote out a few pages originally which were summarized here minus some of the less relevant bits. But if I ever write it out properly some day I'll send it here so you guys can read it!
@@dr.derpington Please do!
Awesome, super catchy and cool !
I LOVE THE MUSIC SOO MUCH!!! The lyrics are so good 🔥
It's holy and mysterious, sentimental and lonely song.
I really like the sound of this song. I don't know, it's not quite like other songs, and feels more simple yet better than most of the other complicated and way too wild songs. Especially the balance of not too many instruments makes it more pleasant to the ears to listen to. Great story behind the song too! Keep up the great work!
This song slaps so hard!! I am in love with the chorus, it's the perfect song to make an animatic of an oc
Listening to this around a community campfire while drunk is an EXPERIENCE.
holy shit!?!?! this deserves to be so much more popular
You song just came up on Spotify and it’s already a new favorite
Stumbled across this channel and song by complete chance. Consider me a new fan- very eager to see what comes next after this. :)
im not fully sure what "infinite death" means in this context, but i cant help but think of it in a sense of gods playing with a singular soul, a mortal, to live a life of immortality, infinitly dying and growing more demented overtime. frankly, this song inspired me to make such a thing, might write about it. love this song so much honestly.
I swear this feels like a the world ends with you song and I love that.
i am a gm for a campaign where there is a lot of eldritch horror planned, but have been having some difficulties planning things out. this song has given me so many ideas it's awesome.
this song is great and a thing that i have noticed while listening to music is if you want to have a really bad uncanny valley effect, you can either offset your lyrics slightly or occasionally have instruments just stop playing for a beat. if you really want to unsettle the listeners (while still being enjoyable to listen to), subtle things do far more than large or abrupt changes.
@@tiramika A good song that really hits the uncanny valley feeling is CG5's "Repair me" during the chorus, something just feels off about it in a good way
yo, why is this actually my jam, im dancing like calebcity's video "When the homie choking on something, but its fire."
This is a badass song! I love how smooth and fluid the beat is!
Close enough, welcome back Red Eyes Ryoshu
All this time I've seen the red eyed ryoshu comments but never actually looked up what it looks like. After googling it, yeah I see why people think this is a fan song for it now

System Shock.
Found this bop on spotify, this is so good!
LETS GO ANOTHER YI XI SONG - AND ITS A BANGER TOO!!!
Been looking for new music/artist to listen to, algorithm did a solid for me. Great songs, hope you keep going
