I wish there were more reviews of Libtechs vs poly in the same model, with actual surfing. It's the only thing that keeps we away, especially at todays prices. I am always curious though every time I see them in the local shop.
@Boardshop: were you able to compare the lost Hydra with the LIB Tech Hydra? I feel like the LIB Tech version lost the actual Hydra (hull) feature of the shaved off rails. Am I imagining that when watching videos looking at the shape? Anyways. Settled on a LIB Tech Hydra as a start. 5’7” Board with 37,5L for my low level intermediate level at 1,90m with 88kg +-4kg. Shop next door had it stocked and a discount. Should give me easy progression and fun while leaving some room upwards. Once there is enough progression I might need to add something like the little wing or Quiver Killer as an addition to the quiver. Lets see…
Would you say that the bean bag is slightly better than the hydra in the smallest and mushiest of waves? And maybe the PJ is the most performance board out of the three?
Depends on how you want to surf the board, both are great small wave boards, the Bean bag is more skatey and the Hydra has more performance through sections. Pj is up there with the Hydra.
Your videos help A LOT! Many thanks from Germany
That Hydra is an absolute banger, I just love mine.

As ever great review - could you do a Lib Tech overview for boards suited to punchier waves too?
Coming very soon! Stoked you like the video. The rest of the range will have a video very soon!
Thanks for reviewing the range. That's really helpful to understand what is best for me. :)
Amazing! Glad to help.

Ian, did lib-tech reduce the weight of their new board models? I had one of the first run PJ's and it was was really heavy.
Thanks for the comment! Libtech boards are as light as standard PU borads. they ahve a vry PU feeling weight. These ar enot heavy at all.
Nice! Are you going to make a vid like this for the other lib tech boards ?
Yes! These will be coming very soon!
